An Officers Dirk and Sgian Dubh Knife C1880, belonging to Major Arthur Lockhart Gallie. 'The Gordon Highlanders' Major Arthur Lockhart Gallie was commissioned as Lieutenant in the Gordon Highlanders and one of the officers on the Nile Expedition 1884-1885. With notched blade, silver mounted grip with cairngorm - set pommel, small companion knife and fork, with grips matching that of the dirk, in the silver mounted scabbard bearing regimental badge to top mount and three thistle ornament. 12in blade. Blade fully engraved with with regimental badge and multiple battle honours (see images and condition report) and Manufactured by Carter & Co. 62 Pall Mall, London, engraved to blade. Commission parchments to Arthur Lockhart Gallie dated 5th May 1884 with original record of service confirming service with the Gordon Highlanders & service in the Egyptian campaign. Must be viewed.
