A George V Silver Part Table-Service, by Henry Hodson Plante, London, 1912, each piece with ribbon-tied reeded border, comprising: 7 table-forks 3 dessert-forks 6 dessert-spoons 5 soup spoons 2 sauce-ladles Together With: two similar dessert-spoons, engraved with initials and a large dessert-fork 55oz 12dwt (26). The marks are generally clear. The pieces have been used and there is some wear and scratching overall. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the high points and wear to the tines. There is some pitting in the sauce-ladles.

dating: 1928 provenance: Scotland, Straight, single-edged blade with two fullers and nicked back, marking 'PETER HENDERSON MAKER GLASGOW'. Silver ring-nut, decorated with relieved thistles. Wooden grip, chiselled with knots and with nails. Big, silver, capital-shaped pommel, with acanthus leaves and partially fretwork, ending in a big, chiselled, amber-color stone. Wooden, leather-covered scabbard. Silver mounts. Cap with emblem of Gordon Highlanders in relief in the front part, loop on the back and Glasgow stamps for silver of 1928, further with short engraved inscription 'A61/1532'. The other mount in silver as well, with stamps, decorated with thistles on the front part. Complete with a small knife and accompanying fork, carved en suite. length 40,3 cm.
dating: 1830-40 provenance: England, Bronze barrel, provided with moulding and upper vent, base engraved with crowned royal monogram 'GR'. Wooden gun carriage with iron and leather mounts. Two lateral cases with ammunition and accessories. Also with a fork, a linstock and a miniature powder flask. length total 38 cm.
