This lot includes a large silver lidded cotton wool jar approx 17 cms h, a silver covered scent bottle (af); a part silver and mother of pearl fruit knife and fork set, comprising five knives, five forks (af) Sheffield hallmark dated 1922, mm George Hardisty; a silver cruet Chester hallmark dated 1918 (blue glass liner), a silver desk calendar Birmingham hallmark dated 1905 mm Charles Penny Brown; a silver ashtray with an emblem for The Royal Air Force Flying Training School, London hallmark dated 1934 mm P & B Ltd; a silver chatelaine Chester hallmark, mm M & L and a silver card case. Condition Report One knife and one fork is missing, one of the forks has damage to the mother of pearl shaft. The silver covered scent bottle with damaged mouth and missing stopper, the cotton wool jar has cloudiness in the glass but still a lovely example.

This lot concludes with a silver oval lid, napkin ring, pounce pot and silver ashtray 100 gms. Condition ReportFoot missing on the chalice.
Scottish Dirk by W. Newlands, fullered saw back 12 inch blade, with leather scabbard fitted with matching knife and fork, basketwork studded carved grip, silver plated mounts embossed with thistles, the pommels set with cairngorm stones. Buyer must be over the age of 18. Age verification ID will be required. 48cm long The dirk is in good general condition but shows some signs of age and wear. The stones all appear to be the same colour, there is some scratches and marks but no chips or cracks. The stone at the top is loose and will pull off the grip with ease. The mounts show some signs of wear from being polished. Some of the brass studs are missing. The leather has some scratches and wear but is generally good. There does not appear to be any provision for sprung clips on the bi-fork and knife but they do slide in and out a bit too easily. The blade has some dark marks but does not appear to be heavily pitted.

LATE VICTORIAN SILVER MOUNTED SCOTTISH OFFICERS DIRK, BONE HANDLE, LATE 19TH CENTURY. Hallmarks for R. & H. B. Kirkwood. 66-68 Thistle Street Edinburgh, Scottland, Sterling Silver and date mark for 1887. Has a Large rock crystal pommel with fancy prong setting and Celtic knot carved bone handle, mounted on the sheath with utility fork and knife with matching handles and pommels. The 33 cm blade with faceted back edge, double fuller and perforation. Leather sheath with fancy engraved sterling silver mounts, in very good condition. 49 cm. overall length. Edinburgh late 19th century.

CORNEL SCHNEIDER: GECKO ON BRANCHBy Cornel Schneider (1965–), signed with the artist's initials 'CS'Switzerland, 2001Superbly carved in boxwood as a gecko crawling across a decaying branch, the outer layers of the bark peeling off with remarkable realism, the lizard's body variously stained and covered in masterful ukibori, the eyes of the reptile inlaid in reverse-painted acrylic glass. A small beetle is carved on the underside, hiding under a dense group of polypore fungi. The 'natural' cord attachment formed by a fork in the branch underneath and signed within an 18k gold-inlaid tablet CS.LENGTH 9.2 cmCondition: Excellent condition.Provenance: From an Austrian private collection formed in the 1990s-early 2000s.
