Developed in the 1960s as an alternative to the mechanical lever movement. An important stage of watch making history. Bulova pioneered the Accutron with its tuning fork movement. This used the tuning fork instead of a balance for the timekeeping element and powered by a battery. This was the forerunner of the quartz movement we all know today. This Bulova Accutron is a very rare DAY/DATE model with tonnou style case. The dial is a very attractive silver colour and features a day and date window at 12 and 6 o’clock. The bracelet is original Bulova with singular large links that lead to the Bulova clasp.Click here for more details and images
