Zylindrisches Gehäuse, auf zwei Büchern ruhend, flankiert von den debattierenden Rousseau und Voltaire. Auf flachem, ovalem und mittig gerundet vorkragendem, teils durchbrochenem Sockel. Aufsatz in pyramidaler Form mit Thermometer, die Skalierung in Hinterglas signiert "Vallée fecit" sowie in Kartusche bezeichnet "Duel des poètes". Weisses Emailzifferblatt mit römischen Stunden- und arabischen Minutenzahlen. Pariserwerk mit Halbstundenschlag auf Glocke.H 38 cm.Vergoldung berieben. Thermometerinstrument defekt und unvollständig. Zifferblatt mit Ausbrüchen. Pendel und Schlüssel fehlen.
