A patinated barometer/thermometer, circa 1860, inscribed verso 'Presented By The Right Hon. the Earl of Aberdeen To John Cormack for gallant conduct in saving the life of a man swept over-board at sea on the night of the 8 Sept 1863', on a patinated metal base in the form of an eagle, 42cm high 12.12.17, Patinated base with the surfaces flaking in parts and with scratch marks, dial is discoloured and needs silvering, thermometer tubes are complete.
Fine mahogany and inlaid five glass banjo clock barometer signed V. Silvani & Co, Brighton on a silvered rectangular spirit level plaque to the base, the 12" principal silvered dial under a 6" cream clock dial, thermometer and dry/damp dials, within a flame mahogany case banded with satinwood and surmounted by a swan neck pediment and brass urn finial, 51" high With pendulum movement - see images
A desk top timepieceModelled as a paraffin lamp incorporating a white enamel dial with Arabic numerals opposing a thermometer, flanked with a further temperature dial and a hygrometer dial and surmounted with an inset compass. 24 cm high. CONDITION REPORTS: Generally good, expected wear, some rubbing to case, hygrometer and second thermometer dial modern.
