Taschenthermometer: bedeutendes, museales, frühes doppelseitiges Taschenthermometer mit Kompass, Johann Holtzmann in Wien, ca.1800: Ca. Ø53mm, ca. 58g, Silbergehäuse, beidseitig verglast, schauseitig das Thermometer, signiert, rückseitig ein funktionstüchtiger Kompass, ebenfalls Emaillezifferblatt (minimale Krakelee im Randbereich), sehr schöner Erhaltungszustand, Rarität. Johann Holtzmann in Wien ist bekannt für seine Taschenthermometer, die er überwiegend für Expeditionszwecke fertigte. Einige dieser Thermometer befinden sich heute in den Sammlungen bedeutender Museen. Das vorliegende Thermometer ähnelt von der Funktionsweise und auch vom Zifferblatt her den Thermometern von Houriet, Jürgensen und Breguet. Die Besonderheit ist der zusätzliche Kompass, das ist extrem selten.
