A VICTORIAN MAHOGANY SYMPIESOMETERBy Thomas Keohan, London, circa 1850In a glazed rectangular case, with silvered dial signed KEOHAN. 2 ARBOUR TERRACE, COMMERCIAL ROAD, LONDON, and IMPROV'D SYMPIESOMETER 2248 at the base of the scale, a mercury thermometer (broken) to the left and oil pressure tube to the right, with adjustable vernier, chip to pediment58cm highThomas Keohan was a mathematical instrument maker and optician, recorded working from 1816-1873. He was at 2 Arbour Terrace 1840-1858.
An Asprey silver plated eight day travelling time piece, in embossed green leather case, 10.5cm wide, with an Angelus travelling time piece, barometer and thermometer,17cm (2) CONDITION REPORT: The Angelus dial is marked with a 8 within a circle. The time piece does wind and is running but we can not guarantee that it is in full working order. The diameter of the back of the clock is about 40mm. The back of the clock can not be opened. The hinges have worn and the metal pin for the hinge has probably rusted - there are marks to the leather around the hinges. Externally with some scuffs and marks. The clasp does close.

Signed picture postcards autographs unverified, a 1951 "Festival of Britain" crown piece, boxed etc, thermometer in case, a multi blade folding knife etc.
A brass cased Swiza 8 desk clock, thermometer and barometer, with inscription to top to Harold Wilson from Berry Magicoal Limited ' upon the opening of their Huyton factory, July 1972', a British Airways Helicopters table lighter with presentation plaque to Harold Wilson to commemorate the opening of new air terminal in Isles of Scilly 1975, along with a deskweight fashioned to resemble a trig point with extruding lines similar to a compass with 'Leyland National Company Limited' around the circular base. (3).
A post-Regency mahogany wheel barometer, the level signed Bernascone, Sheffield, 20cm silvered register, hygrometer, alcohol thermometer, convex mirror, the case with swan neck pediment, outlined throughout with boxwood stringing, 97.5cm high, c. 1830 Records show Luciano Bernescone as working between 1825-1845.
A substantial early Victorian country house rosewood combination barometer and timepiece, 30cm silvered register, brass hands inscribed Today and Yesterday, 14cm convex clock dial inscribed Nelmes, King Street, Bloomsbury, 1842, silvered hygrometer, alcohol thermometer, the well-figured case with swan neck pediment, level to base, 118.5cm high, dated 1842Robert Nelmes was in business at this address primarily as a clockmaker 1828-1844. Condition Report: Silvering lost on timepiece dial; indicator missing on balance.
A small early 20th century continental brass cased carriage clock, the white porcelain dial with black Arabic numerals, set with bevelled glass plates, 10.5cm high, together with a Victorian mahogany framed wall barometer, the painted dial set in a circular shallow carved frame below a central column thermometer on opaque glass flanked by turned columns below a finial pediment, 9cm dial diameter, 40cm high (total) (2).
A RARE HAMBURG-AMERIKA LINE TRAVEL AGENTS ADVERTISING BAROMETER/THERMOMETER/HYGROMETER FOR THE S.S. IMPERATOR , CIRCA 1912 the gilt-embossed chromolithograph of the ship titled and inscribed The Quadruple Screw and Turbine Express Steamer IMPERATOR the largest Vessel in the World set in black glass with bevelled edges secured to wooden back and inset with 6in. aneroid barometer with curved bar thermometers; separate thermometer and hygrometer -- 24 x 16½in. (61 x 42cm.) ~~*~~ If not immediately the most successful liner of her day, the 52,117 ton Imperator was certainly finely appointed within and could boast every modern conveniance then expected. The Kaiser insisted that the ship, perhaps uniquely, be referred to by masculine pronoun and so it was that he was laid up for the duration of the Great War. Given to Cunard in reparations for Lusitania , he required an extensive refit and at this time lost his striking double-headed eagle figurehead. Renamed Berengaria 'he' had a successful career as flagship under their banner, but was laid up from 1938 when 'his' aged wiring caught fire and was broken up in 1946.

HUGHES & SON, LONDON the cyclonometer with 7½in. silvered dial with adjustable plate and indicators, hinged bevelled glass port, contained within oxidised brass bulkhead case; mounted on substantial shaped wooden board with matching barometer signed as per title and numbered 508/49 with curved bar thermometer and typhoon calibrated settings, the board with retailer's plate for Lilley & Reynolds Ltd, 9 Railway Place, Fenchurch Street, London EC3 -- 12 x 22in. (30.5 x 56cm.); together with two range finders and a compass pelorus in wooden cases of issue (4) ~~*~~ The 1930 Henry Hughes & Son catalogue lists the standard model of this instrument at £10 10 0 but this version (with a handsome wooden frame) at £15 0 0.
