EARLY 19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY WHEEL BAROMETER, marked C Botta, Pool, having broken swan neck pediment with vase shaped finial above dry damp indicator thermometer and convex mirror, the silvered barometer face within a brass bezel, turned adjustment knob and spirit level below. C1810. 44" High. The face 9.5" Diameter.

A 19th Century inlaid rosewood bowfront stick barometer, the ivorine dial with vernier scale and inscribed `Mowbray, Hartlepool`, the case with moulded pediment, the trunk inlaid in mother-of-pearl and brass with birds and scrolling foliage, fitted with a mercury thermometer above a cylindrical brass cistern cover, height approx 90.5cm.
A rare mahogany cistern tube stick barometer with ivory cistern float, Negretti & Zambra, circa 1850, with cavetto moulded caddy pediment and bevel-glazed canted ivory vernier scale signed NEGRETT & ZAMBRA, 11 HATTON GARDEN, London, above vernier adjustment screw and arched mercury tube Fahrenheit and Reaumeur scale thermometer to the caddy moulded trunk, the rounded base with domed sistern cover incorporating ivory cistern float, 96cm high. The firm of Negretti and Zambra traded from 11 Hatton Gardens 1850-9. The invention of the ivory cistern float to aid calibration of the instrument is accredited to Jesse Ramsden (worked 1768-1800)..
