A large 19th century ivory mounted table thermometer The domed top inscribed Chamberlain & Son, 203 High Holborn, London above the typical glass tubular section, standing on the ivory mounted stepped architectural plinth base. 51.5 cm high. CONDITION REPORTS: Split to ivory, two screws lacking to ivory panel, general surface wear, some ivory sections lacking to plinth base, two wooden sections lacking to plinth base, splits to front of plinth base, general wear.
A Victorian carved oak combined timepiece and barometer. With a 12.5cm white dial with Roman numerals the single-train key-wound movement enclosed by a brass bezel with a glazed panel above a thermometer and barometer signed J A Wheatley, Carlisle. The case with a leaf-carved cresting, pendant leaves and fruit with an undercut leaf-carved base. 107cms (illustrated).

The timepiece with a 5.5cm white dial with Roman numerals with gilt metals hands with a leaf and scroll engraved gilt metal border, eight-day movement with lever escapement, opposing a conforming aneroid barometer with a register calibrated in barometric inches inscribed with observations including change, with a conforming leaf engraved border, the reverse with a silvered dial centred with a fahrenheit thermometer surmounted by an oscillating loop handle raised upon a breakfront marble plinth with bowfront ends raised upon a gilt metal plinth base. 14x14x6.5cm (illustrated).
