A George III mahogany and marquetry wheel barometer, 21cm silvered dial inscribed Nath: Dawson, London, hygrometer and mercury thermometer, the case with break-arch pediment, profusely inlaid with batwing, Prince of Wales feathers, and Tudor rose bosses, 100cm long, c. 1800Nathaniel Dawson was born in London, son of Roger Dawson in 1797 and set up in business in Fish Street, City of London 1818. He married Mary Ann Saunders and had a relatively large family, but died in 1858.
