A mid 19c rosewood cistern barometer by G F Eve, 18A Featherstone Street, City Road, London having two verniers and duplicate weather indications for 10am yesterday and 10am today. The register plates and vernier scales are ivory as is the mercury thermometer scale which is graduated with both Fahrenheit and Reaumer scales. The top of the barometer has a double scroll carving surmounted by a shell and the cistern cover is flat. The barometer is 41"" tall overall.
A mid 19c walnut Sea Coast cistern barometer with two porcelain scales and two verniers, one for 10am yesterday and one for 10am today. The weather indications on the register plates are known as Admiral Fitzroy`s scale words. The mercury thermometer has both Fahrenheit and centigrade scales and is of porcelain. Both it and the barometer scales are protected by glass and there are carvings on the cistern cover above the thermometer and at the top of the barometer, it stands 40"" tall overall.
A Victorian silver thermometer stand, by Cronin and Wheeler, Birmingham 1848, pagoda form, engraved foliate decoration, fluted columns, with a mother-of-pearl dial, (thermometer missing), on an octagonal base, on four bun feet, height 11.5cm, approx. weight 1.6oz.
