An Aneroid/Thermometer Brass Barometer, contained in a mahogany case, circa 1890 and A Brass Bulkhead Ships Aneroid Barometer, retailed by John Lilley & Gillie Ltd, London & North Shields, 20th century, (2) 19.08.19 Brass case with surface scratches and small dents, later wooden wall plaque, dial with small scratches. Brass case is slightly discoloured, dial is discoloured and with scratches, thermometer tube is complete, outer mahogany case front moulding is chipped. Both aneroid movements have not been tested for their working condition.
A Brass Atmos Advertising Clock, signed LeCoultre Co, 20th century, movement numbered 19317, white chapter ring with Arabic and dagger markers, thermometer tube, atmos clock raised upon a base, case back with an advertising sign Atmos ''The Perpetual Motion Clock'', electric connection, 54cm high 21.08.19 Atmos brass case is discoloured throughout, glass panels with scratches, dial is discoloured in parts, movement appears to have the balance and suspension spring missing, movement not working, advertising base front with a sign missing, backboard with scratches and small chips.
dating: circa 1900 provenance: Ethiopia, Wide, straight, double-edged blade with double, central groove, engraved and finished with floral motifs, finished tang, marked on one side 'G.G.' and with a symbol similar to a thermometer, Judah Lion on the other side. Massive, black horn hilt of typical shape (small chippings) with hemispherical pommel, engraved with floral motifs. Complete with leather scabbard. length 92 cm.

He also published An Examination of the Newtonian Argument for the Emptiness of Space, and of the Resistance of Subtile Fluid (1740). 2) Charles Dalston Nevinson, MD (1773-1846). ESTC T135774 (with signature 'b' under the gap after 'PAUL'); Wellcome II, p. 451. This is an unauthorised edition, edited by Paul Dawson, and without 'All Carefully Examined and Corrected by Mr Desaguliers' on the title-page. When Desaguliers became aware of the book he approached the booksellers but found that two-thirds of the imprint had already been sold. They promised to insert into all remaining copies a preface that Desaguliers would write, together with a substantial errata. This copy appears to have all the errata corrected in the text. Primarily of interest as a textbook on Newtonian physics, the first issue appeared with the title A System of Experimental Philosophy .

A pocket barometer altimeter compendium , 0-8,000 feet, the reverse with curved thermometer and compass, the side engraved 'Presented to C.J.D. Goldie by the Cambridge Crew 1903', 4.5cm (1 3/4in) diameter Claude John Dashwood Goldie (1876-1956) rowed for Cambridge in the Boat Race in 1898 and 1899 and was President of CUBC in 1899 and 1900. He was the son of John Goldie (1849-1896), the legendary President of CUBC after whom their second boat is named.
