Hawkins, Thomas Cole & Victorian Clockmaking, Sydney 1975, p. 177, item 4, for a very similar shaped timepiece with an engraved case by Cole.The clock is in unrestored condition. The gilding is worn. The movement ticks but is sluggish, so will require a service. Two of the squared screws holding the bezel are missing. Some wear to chapters on the dial. A scratch mark between the II & III. The hinged cover to adjust the balance is loose. The mercury thermometer with a silvered scale, thjere are no numerals on the scale.

A 19th century Thomas Bates, Market Harborough wheel shaped wall barometer. The mahogany case with open swan neck pediment silver dials and thermometer, with boxwood stringing and shell motif. H100cm Condition Report: Barometer and thermometer functions are untested. Veneer is coming loose to the right hand outer side of the wheel shaped section. Chips and dents to the wooden case in places, most notably to the edges, glass covers appear to be in good condition.
