A 19thC black slate and specimen stone table thermometer, the arched top with a central mercury thermometer, surrounded by inlaid bands of malachite, onyx, various coloured marbles, etc., on a stepped rectangular base, 22cm high. Provenance: Butterfields Thoresby Park, Newark, Nottinghamshire.
Art Deco Ronson 'Touch-tip' desk lighter approx 19 l x 9 w cms, early 20th century chrome desk clock, barometer and thermometer, approx 24 w x 13 h cms, an Abe chrome clock approx 18 x 9 x 14 cms together with a desk calendar and barometer (?). (4)Note: the clock has some enamel loss on the dial, the desk calendar and barometer is not functioning.
An early 20th century Cornish serpentine desk clock, the annular top inset a later clock movement, the pillar support with ivory backed thermometer, on a turned base. Height 29cm.Condition report: The movement seems securely fixed (glued?), the aperture measures 5.5cm, the diameter of the base is 10.8cm.There is a filled chip at the top of the column and two cracks visible to the back at 6 o'clock and 1 o'clock.There is the remnants of an old label to the base. A leather cased thermometer by S. Holdsworth, New Wells, Wakefield, early 19th Century, the silvered scale 20cm high. Condition Report The leather case has some wear and losses as would be expected. The lower hinge is slightly loose. The glass tube is possibly replaced as the build is smaller than the original circular opening. The mercury rises when one puts a finger on the bulb.
