*Gerald Spencer Pryse (1882-1956) watercolour - Street in Kano, 54cm x 77cm, titled verso, unframed. Provenance: From the artist’s studio. An exhibition article recounts the history of this group of watercolour sketches - ‘In 1928 he visited Nigeria and the Gold Coast on behalf of the Empire Marketing Board: the paintings made by him in the Gold Coast were purchased by the Colonial Government. In Nigeria he made no less than a hundred sketches, in colour, in a period of only 53 working days; most of the four months spent in Nigeria being occupied in travel, often under severe conditions. These pictures constitute a unique record of scenery and life in Nigeria at that time. Captain Spencer Pryse also paid an important visit to the Emir Abd'el Karim during the Riff War in North Africa, an account of which he published in Blackwood's Magazine.’. Gerald Spencer Pryse was born in Ashton and educated at Eton. He was largely self taught but with spells under artists in London and Paris. He won first prize at the Venice International Exhibition in 1907. Early in his career he contributed work to The Strand Magazine, The Graphic and Punch, he produced illustrations for E Nesbit, Henry Fielding and others. A staunch socialist and an active member of the Fabian society, his work was often politically charged and with humanist themes, demonstrated in posters for various humanitarian relief agencies throughout the first world war and it’s aftermath. Pryce initially focussed on print-making and was well versed in the techniques of lithography by the outbreak of The Great War. He captured scenes from the battlefields from 1914 and ultimately became the most prolific lithographic artist of World War I. Working initially under the patronage of the Queen of Belgian as a dispatch rider on the Belgian front, he had the freedom to record his observations directly onto huge lithographic stones, which he carried around the Western front line in his Mercedes, commentators at the time described him as ‘’looking like he’d looted a graveyard’”. He later wrote a memoir of this time ‘Four Days: an account of a journey in France made between 28 and 31 August 1914’ published by John Lane in 1932. Pryse also worked with the Indian Army in France and several of his lithographs depict scenes of Indian troops. He subsequently served as a Captain in the Queen Victoria’s rifles, won the Military Cross at Passchendaele, was awarded the Croix de Guerre and was mentioned in dispatches. Pryse was torn between his obligation as a soldier and his potential value as an artist in the propaganda unit. His repeated petitions to become an official war artist were protracted due to his military success and the reluctance of his superiors to release him, his socialist leanings were also a significant stumbling block. In 1917 He finally became an official war artist, one of just 26 British artists to have been awarded the honour during WWI. When his sketches were later exhibited in London they were said to have ‘a freshness and authenticity that were not always apparent in the work of official war artists’, unfortunately much of his work was destroyed during the 1918 German Offensive, and even more destroyed when the Spencer Pryse house was bombed in World War II, after which time Gerald Spencer Pryse ceased to paint. Pryse secured prestigious commissions during the war period, including poster designs for military recruitment, the British Red Cross, London Underground and The Labour Party. In 1924 he did a large series of work for the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley, working alongside Frank Brangwyn to produce the official accompanying publication and also on a monumental series of posters covered ‘the whole of the Empire in 24 pictures’, designed to convey the extent and marvels of the British Empire. He also produced images for the 1928 and 1932 Olympics. In 1925 he travelled and worked extensively in Morocco where his brother was based. In 1928 he toured West Africa by car and river steamer to record scenes on the Gold Coast and Nigeria for The Empire Marketing Board and in 1930 was commissioned for further works by the Gold Coast Government. Throughout his career he exhibited widely including at the Alpine Gallery, Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Gallery, Leicester Galleries and the Royal Glasgow Institute of Art. His work was acquired by and is held by The British Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum, The Louvre, The Uffizi, The National Portrait Gallery, The Royal Collection and others. Gerald Spencer Pryse died at Cranford House, Stourton, Worcestershire on 28 November 1956 aged 74.

2005 Mercedes-Benz C320 Elegance Transmission: automaticMileage:51200The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a compact executive car that was introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the hugely successful 190 range. The C-Class was the smallest car in the range until the A-Class was launched. The second-generation C-Class was introduced in March 2000 and production began on 18th July 2000. The saloon debuted with a range of inline-four and V6 petrol engines and inline-four and five diesels, later W203's received the V6 diesel. Most of the engines were carried over from the W202, the diesels now featured common rail direct fuel injection and variable geometry turbochargers. A six-speed manual gearbox was optional on some of the range. This C320 Elegance is finished in silver and presents well. These are exceedingly reliable cars from the German manufacture and as such, have a reputation for being a great workhorse. 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC Transmission: automaticMileage:67806The 1992 Mercedes 500 SEC is a luxury coupé that was produced from 1990 to 1992. The interior is equally impressive, with high-quality materials and a range of features including power windows, air conditioning, and a premium sound system. It is paired with a smooth-shifting four-speed automatic transmission that delivers power to the rear wheels. The car's suspension is well-tuned and provides a comfortable ride while still offering responsive handling. This rare coupé was registered in April 1992 and presents wonderfully in striking Mauve metallic paintwork with a contrasting beige interior. Lot 275

1989 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:94777The Mercedes-Benz R107 SL model was launched in 1971 and continued a tradition of two-door sports tourers from the world famous German manufacturer that dates back to 1954. The car featured a two-door monocoque bodyshell with independent all-round suspension. The success and popularity of the model is borne out by the 237,287 units that were produced during the cars impressive 18 year build run. This example is one of the very last R107's built, being a 1989 car. The car presents beautifully in Smoke Silver with a half chocolate brown leather and half houndstooth cloth interior. The whole car really is in exceptional condition, our vendor purchased it from his business partner, after spending a long time looking for the right SL. This example has no fewer than 30 service stamps, being taken to Mercedes-Benz main agents until 2002 at 75,000 miles, with a further 11 services carried out by a mixture of local garages and Mercedes-Benz specialists since. The car comes to the sale fresh from a service by Mercedes-Benz.The R107 generation SL has gathered some immense interest in the past few years, and these late 300 models offer possibly the best all round package. The 300 engine offers plenty of power and torque for cruising, without the added expense to be expected from its bigger 500 V8 sibling. Our vendor reports this car is an absolute delight to drive, Mercedes of this era were renowned for their built quality and over-engineered approach, meaning well kept examples can really stand the tests of time.

Lot 101

1962 Austin J40 Pedal Car Transmission: Mileage:The Austin J40 pedal car is a miniature replica of the Austin A40 motor car produced by the Austin Motor Company in the 1950s. The J40 was designed for children aged between three and six years old, and it quickly became a popular toy car in post-war Britain. The car was made from heavy-gauge steel. The J40 was available in a range of colours, including red, green, blue and yellow. This example is presented in Tartan Red with red interior, white steering wheel and headlights. These examples are highly sought-after and can be seen particularly at the Goodwood Revival. The only silent racing cars at the Goodwood Revival aren't Formula E cars that have snuck in unnoticed. They're the Austin J40 pedal cars of the one-make start-finish thrash that is the Settrington Cup, powered by the kids of the great and the good at the Revival. Without anything close to a single horsepower, a licence to race or even drive they may be, but it's no less competitive. It's a fight down to the wire at the end, too. Slow and steady wins the race with energy reserved at the start fully deployed towards the end to overtake the leader and take the win. With that kind of tactical racing mindset, Mercedes-Benz AMG Petronas F1 may one day come knocking! Today, the J40 pedal car is highly sought-after by collectors and enthusiasts, and original examples can fetch high prices at auction.

Lot 143

2005 Mercedes-Benz SL350 Transmission: automaticMileage:88125The R129 models were produced from 1989 through to 2001 and sold under the SL-Class model names. The R129 replaced the R107 SL-Class in 1989 and was subsequently replaced by the R230 in 2001. The R129 was based on the shortened floorpan of the Mercedes-Benz W124 saloon and featured many innovative details for the time. It came to public attention in 1991 when Diana, Princess of Wales, sold her Jaguar XJS to lease a J-registration, metallic-red 500 SL, becoming the first member of the Royal Family to use a foreign car. This controversy sparked a media storm as it was questioned whether a member of British Royalty should drive a foreign car. The fifth generation of the legendary SL series, made by Mercedes-Benz, was known as the R230. It featured a fully retractable hardtop that was marketed as the Vario Roof- a first for the SL class although it had been available on the smaller SLK model since 1997.This fabulous Mercedes-Benz is presented in blue with a grey leather trim and is in unmarked condition. The original service books are present and HK55 HBE is accompanied by a good service history. These are very well-appointed vehicles with electric seats, cruise control and automatic transmission all coming as standard equipment. The power hood works perfectly and we are advised by the very fastidious vendor that this SL350 drives with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 4th May 2024. These models never seem to age and are extremely practical as well as being elegant and swift when one needs to be somewhere in a hurry.Guide £11,000- £13,000

Lot 279

1991 Mercedes-Benz 200TE Estate Transmission: automaticMileage:116000The Mercedes-Benz 124 series is a range of mid-size cars made from 1984 to 1997. The range included numerous body configurations, and although collectively referred to as the W-124, official internal chassis designations varied by bodystyle; saloon (W124). The TE model derivative being the Estate version and from 1993, the 124 series was officially marketed as the E-Class.This example was originally registered on 1st May 1991 and has been owned by the vendor since 16th January 1992. These hugely popular workhorses offer comfort, reliability and flexibility all under one roof. Finished in white, H778 BRP is a seven-seater example and has just had four new tyres fitted. Optional extras include a factory electric sunroof. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 19th May 2024. Offered without reserve.

Lot 104

2005 Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG Transmission: automaticMileage:44025The C55 signified a return to AMG's V8 roots, after barely a three-year flirtation with a supercharged V6. AMG found 8,100 homes for the C32, but the AMG engineers seemed much happier now that there was a serious, big-capacity, naturally aspirated 5.4 litre V8 powering the meatiest C-Class and the badge is there to, well, to ensure the owners don't forget. It is not the performance, AMG claimed 5.2 seconds to 62mph for both C55 and C32, or even the transformation to a deep, wonderfully muscular exhaust note, but the makeover in the dynamics that stood the new sports saloon apart. The C55 marked a small, but perceptible, shift towards a sharper, more sporting focus, that set it closer to the M3 than any previous AMG hot rod C-Class.This example of this brute of a car is presented in silver with a black leather interior and comes with electric heated front seats, sunroof, air conditioning with climate control. Also accompanying the car is its original service book showing frequent servicing at almost yearly intervals from 31st June 2005 to October 2019. The car has also benefitted recently from a new radiator, new spark plugs, a brake fluid change and a change of engine and gearbox oil. With the values of the earlier Cosworth-inspired super sports Mercedes rocketing well into six figures, this pure-blood AMG super saloon in the lightweight C-Class bodyshell is already a collectible Mercedes AMG hot-rod, with blistering performance and that oh-so-inspiring and famous AMG V8 exhaust note.

Lot 120

2011 Mercedes-Benz Vito 122CDI Sport-X Brabus SWB Dualiner Transmission: automaticMileage:110317The Vito is a minivan produced by Mercedes-Benz and was available as a standard panel van for cargo called Vito, or with passenger accommodations substituted for part or all of the load area called V-Class or Viano. The first generation went on sale in 1996 and the second generation was introduced in 2004. Available in both rear and four-wheel drive configurations and three lengths, two wheelbases and a choice of four petrol and diesel engines, (as well as two specialist tuned models), coupled to either a six-speed manual or five-speed TouchShift automatic transmission.Offered here is a rare and desirable 122CDI model which boasts the largest and most powerful engine fitted to the Vito range. The W639 generation Vito had the option of the 3.0 litre, 224bhp turbo V6 diesel and was the last Mercedes-Benz van to be offered with anything over a 2.2 litre four-cylinder engine. Even rarer yet, this Jasper Blue example is the Sport-X Brabus model which boasts Brabus badging, air conditioning, full leather interior, heated front seats, satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, parking sensors, Zenon headlights, tinted glass, electric side door, removable tow bar as well as 18 Brabus alloy wheels, (including the spare). To add to the rarity of this Vito, it is also a short wheelbase version, the majority of production being delivered as the long wheelbase platform. Perfect for day trips, holidays, towing, recreational use or to be converted into a camper, these Sport-X Brabus represent the peak and final swan song of the powerful and brilliant V6 122CDI Vito range. The vendor reports it to run and drive very well and it will be delivered to the auction having been freshly serviced and with a fresh MoT test certificate.Supplied with a V5C registration document and book pack with service book showing regular service stamps. This wonderful, rare and powerful example of the Vito, is not only versatile, but also luxurious.

Lot 250

2001 Mercedes-Benz SL320 Transmission: automaticMileage:18970Unveiled at the March 1989 Geneva Motor Show, the new Mercedes-Benz R129 Series SL range was beautifully engineered. Based around a two-door monocoque bodyshell, its sophisticated, all-round independent suspension was augmented by a host of active and passive safety features including electronic stability control, ventilated ABS disc brakes, adaptive-damping shock absorbers, front airbags and an integral rollover bar that deployed in less than a third of a second if the car ever sensed an impending flip. Suitably cosseting, the convertible's impeccably built cabin included a fully automated power hood and featured such advancements as memory seats, electric windows/mirrors and an adjustable steering column. Yet lurking beneath all the luxury and refinement was a performance orientated sports car. This superb example is presented in maroon with cream leather interior, both of which are in excellent condition. It comes with a very high specification including the factory hardtop. Offered in fantastic condition throughout the paintwork, interior and engine bay are all in fine fettle and we are told by the vendor that the car is a joy to drive. This lovely SL320 comes with its relevant booklets including the service book, many invoices for various services, maintenance bills, old MoT test certificates and the V5C registration document. A significant amount of money has been spent on this example during its life and as such it is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner. In our opinion, the colour combination of this particular Mercedes-Benz is one of the most desirable and in this condition, with just 18,970 miles on the odometer it must make it one of the best available.

Lot 220

1960 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Transmission: manualMileage:57955The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL is a two-door grand touring convertible with a removable hardtop that was produced between May 1955 and February 1963 with a prototype first shown at the 1954 New York Motor Show. It was sold alongside the faster, more expensive Mercedes-Benz 300 SL which it closely resembled both in its styling, engineering, detailing and fully independent suspension. However, the 190 SL did not use the 300 SL's purpose-built tubular spaceframe W198 platform but was built on a shortened monocoque R121 unit. The 190 SL was powered by a new 1.9 litre straight-four SOHC engine that developed 104bhp and was later also used in the W120, 180 and W121, 190 models. The four-cylinder engine block of the 190 SL was based on the six-cylinder engine of the 300 SL. The car was available either as a soft top convertible or with removable hardtop. This delightfully handsome Mercedes has had recent expenditure with Classic Sport Leicht, very well-respected marque specialists in Paris. Presenting supremely well in Gunmetal grey with contrasting red interior, we are informed this 190 SL drives with no known faults. This left hand drive example has been the subject of an extensive restoration and as such, is ready to be enjoyed immediately. The coachwork is in good order as is the chromework (of which there is plenty) and the interior is virtually unmarked. The 190 SL is best suited for touring, as it featured copious amounts of luggage space, despite having a convertible top. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a history folder, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire a very good looking and well sorted 190 SL.

Lot 265

1985 Mercedes-Benz 380SL Transmission: automaticMileage:41464The Mercedes-Benz SL range of models have been in production for over sixty years metamorphosing from the Le Mans winning W194 of 1952 to the technologically advanced, aluminium bodied supercars we find today at Mercedes-Benz World. One thing however, has not changed over the years “ its fundamental character and identity as an upmarket well-built sports car. You could say the fabulous SL AMG model of today with its gullwing doors is the spiritual successor of the 1956 W121 class Gullwing. Backed by its racing pedigree the SL's glamorous reputation was further enhanced by its appearance on TV when it was rare to see an episode of Dallas or Dynasty in the 1980's without the SL making an appearance! These third-generation SL's, the R107, looked 'the part' in all their guises “ the soft top up or down or with the Pagoda hardtop in place. The simple to use, almost genius soft top mechanism when folded down out of sight under a panel gives the car its beautifully sleek, uncluttered appearance. With the hardtop in place you could be forgiven for thinking you were in a fixed head coupé. No less than eight different engine options were available ranging from the straight-six 2.8 litre to a mighty 5.6 litre V8. Although a manual gearbox was available, it is very rare and most examples are fitted with an automatic gearbox which best suits the car's designation as a grand tourer.Originally registered on 6th June 1985 this R107 Mercedes is fitted with the smooth and responsive 3.8 litre V8 Engine. It is a superb example that presents in excellent condition all round. The Pagent Red coachwork is in excellent order as is the cream leather trim. Stylish Mexican hat alloy wheels complement this delightful colour combination. Supplied with the original service books, this has clearly been a very well cared for Mercedes-Benz. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 11th April 2024, together with the original toolkit and a factory hardtop. We are advised this R107 drives as good as it looks, it is rare to see them this good.

Lot 263

2008 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Sport Edition Transmission: automaticMileage:36995With a 0-60mph time of six seconds, the 4973cc, R129 Mercedes-Benz SL500 carried on the tradition of the fast and reliable grand touring convertible. A fully operating electric hood, windows, door mirrors and seats made this model easy and comfortable to operate. The fifth generation SL was in production between 2002 and 2008 and featured the all-new retractable hardtop - an important feature for those British showers! Mercedes-Benz followers were impressed with the stability of the car with the hardtop in place and the ease at which they could remove it. Such was its success; the SL is still one of the leading cars in the Mercedes-Benz range. This car features the very capable 5.0 litre 302bhp V8 powerplant mated to a standard automatic gearbox. Originally registered on 29th September 2008, this Mercedes-Benz presents very well in silver. The mileage is modest, having covered only 36,995 miles in its 15 years on British roads. These 5.0 litre convertibles are fabulous to drive, and this is the rarer Sport Edition. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 6th July 2024.

Lot 189

1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda Transmission: automaticMileage:59035Mercedes-Benz have produced some of the most famous sporting classic cars the world has ever seen, no more so than the 280 SL Pagoda dating back to the 1960's. With three engine options on offer, the most collectible was, by far, the 2.8 litre model. Not only BMW, France's TGV and Citroën, Paul Bracq was the designer responsible for the skilful lines that made-up this range of sporting icons. All bonnet panels, door skins, boot lids and tonneau covers were composed of aluminium giving the car an overall lightness which contributed to the performance that was very well received by the general public. The driving experience and build quality are highly respected and, as a result, still highly collectable today.Built originally for the American market, this 1969 model was imported into the UK in 2012 as a rust-free example. With 55,454 miles recorded at that time, it was sold to the previous owner who then placed it into secure storage. Since then, it was delivered to custom car specialists Hot Rod Technologies based in Hayes, Middlesex for a complete, ground-up restoration. During that time, the car was brought up to European specification which included removing the side marker lamps and the fitting of European-style headlights. It was also finished in the fetching original blue colour, code #903, with matching hardtop, dark blue soft top and a tan leather interior. It also benefits from the original factory air-conditioning unit and is supplied with V5C registration documents, a documented full photographic restoration and an valid MoT test certificate. These Pagodas are always a pleasure to drive, particularly in good weather when the roof is down and the smooth six-cylinder engine can really be enjoyed.

2004 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Transmission: automaticMileage:67338The Mercedes-Benz R129 models were produced from 1989 through to 2001 and were sold under the SL Class model names. The R129 replaced the R107 SL Class in 1989 and was subsequently replaced by the R230 in 2001. The R129 was based on the shortened floorpan of the Mercedes-Benz W124 saloon and featured many innovative details for the time. The R129 came to public attention in 1991 when Diana, Princess of Wales, sold her Jaguar XJS to lease a J-registration, metallic red 500 SL, becoming the first member of the royal family to use a foreign car. This controversy sparked a media storm as it was questioned whether a member of British royalty should drive foreign cars. The fifth generation of the legendary SL series of two-door convertible sports cars made by Mercedes-Benz was known as the R230. It featured a fully retractable hardtop that was marketed as the Vario Roof; a first for the SL Class although it had been available on the smaller SLK model since 1997.Originally registered on 8th June 2004, this Mercedes-Benz presents very well. With the modest mileage of 67,338 the 4966cc engine is barely run in. Finished in silver with a black leather interior, this SL500 is supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 16th February 2024. The SL500 is a well-appointed Mercedes with air conditioning, electric windows, cruise control and heated seats all as standard equipment. In addition to the above these great looking cars offer flexibility with a retractable hardtop and at the push of a button, convertible motoring.

1964 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Transmission: manualMileage:74600The 1964 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL, also known as the 'Pagoda', is a classic luxury sports car that epitomises elegance and performance. With its sleek and timeless design, it captivates car enthusiasts even today. Powered by a 2.3 litre inline-six engine, it delivers a smooth driving experience and impressive acceleration. The 230 SL features a unique, detachable hardtop resembling a pagoda roof, which adds to its iconic appeal. Its luxurious interior boasts comfortable leather seats, modern amenities for its time, and excellent craftsmanship. The 1964 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL represents a perfect blend of style, power, and sophistication, making it a coveted collector's item. This stunning example was supplied by franchised dealer Carols of Wolverhampton on 1st July 1964. The car changed hands in 1973 and was used until 1978 when it was placed in long term storage. It re-emerged in 2017 and has since undergone a comprehensive list of work. These works have been undertaken by two retired Carols of Wolverhampton mechanics who between them have an impressive 100 years of Mercedes experience. The list of items attended to include an overhaul of the brake calipers, servo, master cylinder, clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. All brake hoses were replaced, as was the propshaft centre bearing mounting. The gearbox was overhauled and benefits from new bearings and fresh transmission oil. The original Bosch electric fuel pump was refurbished as was the entire fuel system including the fitting of new fuel pipes. The radiator has received an uprated core and all new hoses. A new head gasket was fitted and all engine gaskets have been replaced. The list of work continues and includes reconditioning the starter motor and injector pump. The engine bolts and engine mountings, distributor cap, all plug leads and plug caps have all been replaced. Evidence of further works is available in the history file for this car and includes sympathetic refurbishment of the interior, a respray and the fitting of a new mohair hood. Although, often said this car really is ready to be enjoyed by a new custodian.

2003 Mercedes-Benz SLK 320 Transmission: automaticMileage:60035At start of the 1990s, after the introduction of their two-seat, grand-tourer R129 SL and the Mazda MX-5, Mercedes-Benz set out to create a new compact roadster, slotted below the SL. By late 1991, under Bruno Sacco, the first design sketches were drawn up and scale models were built in the first half of 1992. Massively successful in its first year, worldwide sales hit 55,000, over double the entire nine-year production of 190 SLs and between 1996 and 2004, over 311,000 SLKs were sold. The roof design consists of a folding steel hardtop with both halves linked by a mechanism which is locked securely when the roof is closed. At the touch of a button on the centre console, a hydraulic system controls the fully automatic folding process in which the boot lid is also integrated. This very good, 2003 Mercedes-Benz SLK 320 was first used at a Mercedes main dealer, Hughes of Beaconsfield as a demonstration car being purchased by the current lady owner directly from them in December 2004. Powered by a 3.2 litre V6 engine, the SLK 320 delivers impressive performance, producing 215bhp. This engine, paired with a smooth and responsive automatic gearbox, enabled the SLK 320 to accelerate quickly and deliver a dynamic driving experience. This car has only covered 60,000 miles from new and has been regularly serviced, mostly by Mercedes main dealers with the last major service carried out in April of this year at a cost of £1,200. Finished in brilliant silver metallic with Anthracite leather interior, this SLK 320 is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in November 2023 and a file containing all the maintenance invoices and the original bill of sale. These small Mercedes represents excellent value for money and are ideal for the summer months with the roof down.

2001 Mercedes-Benz S600 Transmission: automaticMileage:26302The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a luxury saloon and was officially introduced in 1972 with the W116 S-Class which succeeded previous Mercedes-Benz models dating back to the mid-1950s. As the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz line-up, the S-Class has debuted many of the company's latest innovations, including drivetrain technologies, interior features, and safety systems (such as seatbelt pre-tensioners). The W220 S-Class was completely restyled in 1999 with a body that was slightly smaller and lighter than its predecessor. Production of the W220 S-Class totalled 485,000 units; slightly more than the production totals of its predecessor. As with each new S-Class, the W220 brought in new innovations such as Airmatic air suspension and Active Ventilated Seats (which used miniature fans in the seats to move air through perforations).Originally registered on 29th June 2001 this Mercedes-Benz presents supremely well in black with beige leather trim. The S-Class range over cars are exceedingly well appointed and this is certainly no exception. Equipped with air conditioning, electric seats both front and rear, cruise control and parking aids. This low mileage example has led a very cosseted life, always being garaged and mostly chauffeur driven. Having travelled less than 1,200 miles per annum, it is not unreasonable to say this S600 is barely run-in.  Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate, this one owner Mercedes-Benz is described as being a joy to drive with no known faults.

1991 Mercedes-Benz 300 SE Transmission: automaticMileage:104761On 16th November 1990, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the W140 S-Class via press release, later appearing in several February and March editions of magazines. The W140 made its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1991 with the first examples rolling off the production line in April 1991 and North American examples on 6th August 1991. Short (SE) and long (SEL) wheelbase saloons were offered initially as well as the coupé (SEC) bodystyle from October 1992. The W140 introduced innovations such as double-pane window glazing, power-assisted closing for doors and boot lid, electric windows which lowered back down upon encountering an obstruction and a heating system which, if desired, continued to emit warm air after the engine was turned off. For details like this, the W140 is often known as the last Mercedes-Benz to be 'over-engineered;' a trait which was costing the company in product delays and over-budgeting.This lovely example of this luxury saloon is presented in Almandine Red with a beige leather interior. The car comes with factory fitted air conditioning, electric sunroof, electric front seats, electric windows front and rear and will come to the auction with a new MoT test certificate. The car has covered a mere average of just over 3,000 miles per year and now presents itself as a great classic Mercedes-Benz, still offering comfortable travel with good performance to match.
