1981 Mercedes-Benz 250T Estate Transmission: automaticMileage:75190Mercedes-Benz introduced the W123 in 1976; it is a tribute to the car's instant popularity that nine months after its introduction, a black market had developed in Germany for Mercedes-Benz W123’s available for immediate delivery. Customers willing to order new cars from local authorised dealers faced waiting times in excess of 12 months. Meanwhile, models that were barely used and were available almost immediately commanded a premium over the new price. From August 1977 the long wheelbase versions were produced, available as seven/eight seat saloons with works bodies or as a chassis with complete front body clip, the latter serving as the base for ambulance and hearse bodies by external suppliers like Binz or Miesen. These 'Lang' versions could be ordered as 240D, 300D and 250 models. This superb example is presented in Reinorange with black and white check interior and has only had four previous owners. This highly desirable and durable estate comes with a good history file containing many old invoices and MoT test certificates. It has electric windows all round, factory fitted heated front seats, sunroof, factory fitted radio and a manual gearbox, it also comes with factory fitted air conditioning which is extremely rare. It is apparent from the data sheet that this car was originally manufactured with an automatic transmission but was converted at some point to its manual configuration you see today. These models are highly sought-after and with the mileage showing only 75,190, this must surely be one for the collection or just to be used and enjoyed. We are informed this Mercedes comes to auction with a new MoT test certificate with no advisories.

Lot 146

1968 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda Transmission: manualMileage:95300The Mercedes-Benz 280 SL was introduced in December 1967 and continued in production until February 1971. An all-new design by Paul Bracq to replace the 190 SL and 300 SL Roaster. The 280 SL had a powerful 2.8 litre version of Mercedes inline-six and used Bosch fuel injection. To save on weight the bonnet, boot lid and tonneau cover were all composed of aluminium. The nickname 'Pagoda' was quickly adopted thanks to the slightly concave roof on the optional removable hardtop that resembled a pagoda roof. The comparatively short and wide chassis, combined with an excellent suspension, powerful disc brakes and radial tyres gave the W113 superb handling for its time. These roadsters also have one of the most beautiful bodies produced in the 1960s. Thanks to their robust inline-six and their luxurious Mercedes interior, they are wonderful cars to be driven and enjoyed. The styling of the front paid homage to the legendary 300 SL with its characteristic upright Bosch ‘fishbowl’ headlights and simple chrome grille, dominated by the large three-pointed star in the nose panel. This very tidy left hand drive example of this iconic German classic was imported from the US in 2016 and was then repainted in the traditional white which you see today. Its interior, which we believe to be original but cannot confirm, is red MB Tex and is in good condition. Its 2.8 engine is mated to a manual gearbox and we are informed it runs well. The car comes with its factory hardtop which is also in good condition and this Pagoda is priced very reasonably compared to many similar classic Mercedes-Benz and can be used every day or to tour in Europe, either way this is a stylish sports car and still turns heads on our roads today.

Lot 148

2015 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S Transmission: automaticMileage:22291The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT made its debut on 9th September 2014 and was officially unveiled to the public in October 2014 at the Paris Motor Show with two engine power output options: the GT, with 456 bhp), and the GT S with 503 bhp. The GT S was the Formula 1 safety car for the 2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons, having made its debut in that role in the 2015 Australian Grand Prix. The GT's exterior design was kept similar to that of the preceding SLS AMG. It features the wide wheel arches lower bodywork, and fastback sloping roofline of the SLS AMG, but uses conventional forward-opening doors instead of the iconic gullwing style pioneered by the 300 SL in the 1950s. The large bonnet and slim windscreen have been retained. The vehicle structure is made up of 93% aluminium, with the front module base made up of magnesium. The exterior lead designer was Mark Fetherston, whose previous works include the W176 A-Class, the CLA Class, and SLS AMG. The interior, designed by Jan Kaul, features a large centre console and decorative elements in a leather and carbon polymer design.Originally registered on 18th September 2015 this beautiful AMG GT S presents in unmarked condition. A full service history accompanies this Mercedes-Benz with the first six services carried out by main dealers and the last service on 12th May 2022 at 21,521 miles by a marque specialist. Finished in Designo Diamond White with grey and black interior, this stylish sportscar has an impressive list of options. These include Carbon Fibre Trim Package, 19â€/20†AMG forged alloy wheels, Nappa leather, AMG performance seats with AMG badges in the seat back and Premium Package which includes a Burmester surround system and a Panoramic roof. The price of this outstanding vehicle was £126,520 including £16,020 worth of options. These outstanding vehicles offer brisk performance by any standards. This immaculate, well serviced, and exceedingly well cared for example is a must for the collector or adrenalin seekers.Interested parties should note that the private registration plate shown is to be retained by the vendor and a new, age-related registration issued instead.

1968 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Pagoda Transmission: automaticMileage:13182In 1960, executive director Fritz Nallinger proposed to develop a completely new SL design, based on technology from the W112. This led to the W113 platform, with an improved fuel-injected 2.3 litre M127 inline six cylinder engine. The Mercedes-Benz W113 roadsters, designed by Paul Bracq, were produced from 1963 through to 1971. They were known as the ‘pagoda roof’ SL. Most of these early SL’s were sold with both the removable hardtop and a soft top. The 230 SL made a remarkable debut at the prestigious Geneva Motor Show in March 1963 where Nallinger introduced it as follows; It was our aim to create a very safe and fast sports car with high performance which, despite its sports characteristics, provides a very high degree of travelling comfort. This matching numbers, right hand drive, 230 SL Pagoda is one of the finest examples we have offered. Originally registered on 5th February 1968, this late example has recently benefitted from an impressive restoration. The comprehensive file that accompanies this car details what an incredible amount work has been undertaken. This includes the fitting of a new fuel pump, radiator, brake servo and master cylinder, brake discs, suspension bushes, anti-roll bushes and new cylinder head valve stem seals. The car presents extremely well in gleaming silver coachwork over freshly trimmed black leather. This look is enhanced with a new wooden dashboard, a new white period correct steering wheel and radio, a new soft top hood and a restored factory supplied hardtop, even the toolkit has been restored and a new boot carpet fitted. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and a valid MoT test certificate, this showroom condition example of this popular car deserves serious consideration by any enthusiast.

Lot 156

1966 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Pagoda Transmission: automaticMileage:97180The Mercedes-Benz W113 roadsters, designed by Paul Bracq, were produced from 1963 through to 1971 with their distinctive 'Pagoda' hardtop roof giving them their contemporary nickname. All models feature an inline six-cylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection using a mechanical pump system adapted from the diesel engine. All are rear-wheel drive and are equipped with independent rear suspension, a feature that greatly improved road handling. It made its debut at the prestigious Geneva Motor Show in March 1963 where Technical Director Fritz Nallinger introduced it as follows, It was our aim to create a very safe and fast sports car with high performance which, despite its sports characteristics, provides a high degree of travelling comfort. Mercedes-Benz Chief Engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut, who was as competent behind the wheel as most racing drivers, demonstrated the capabilities of the 230 SL on a tight short race track near Montreux in 1963 where he put up a best lap time of 47.5 seconds and, incidentally, out-performed Mike Parkes in his Ferrari 250GT.This 1966 230 SL Pagoda Mercedes-Benz has been subject to a restoration by a Hampshire based classic car restoration company, costing in excess of £200,000. The car is presented in silver with biscuit leather interior and has a new dark blue hood. Its original engine (included in the sale) was replaced by a 2.8 litre engine from a 1970 CE model, providing the car with better performance and is mated to an automatic gearbox. Recently this Pagoda has been treated to maintenance work to the braking system at a cost of circa £1,600. Offered with a V5C registration document, previous MoT test records, sundry invoices and an MoT test certificate valid until October 2023.Interested parties should note that whilst the car has been restored, we advise any prospective purchaser to read the condition report provided by Hemmels which can be obtained by way of a PDF from Historics or indeed can be seen in the history file at the auction. Since the report the Pagoda has had work carried out to the braking system at a cost of circa £1,600 and comes with a MoT test certificate valid until October 2023.

1962 Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Transmission: automaticMileage:47030With a production run that started in 1959 and finished in 1968, the Mercedes-Benz W111 series was the top of the range line-up for the German manufacturer. The addition of two-door coupés and cabriolets was made in 1961. These new models were the replacement for the two-door Pontons and factory prototypes show that Mercedes-Benz attempted to give the two-door car a front styling similar to the Pagoda roadster. The rear bodywork persisted and although officially called a fintail the rear end design had no chrome fin highlights. The coupé was premiered in Stuttgart for the 75th anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz Museum.Originally registered in September 1962, this stunning example presents extremely well in metallic light blue coachwork with a contrasting cream leather interior piped in blue which is complemented by blue carpets. We are informed that £40,000 was spent recommissioning the car which is evident when viewing this fabulous example. This superb example of this iconic classic from the German manufacturer, really is in exemplary condition. Its ivory coloured steering wheel and gear knob add to the nostalgic feel, particularly complemented by its fabulous interior, which is extremely comfortable as with all Mercedes-Benz of this era. The car has benefitted from some updating in the form of a period but sympathetic, Bluetooth stereo. We are informed that this Mercedes is a delight to drive. Powered by its smooth six-cylinder engine mated to an automatic gearbox, this elegant classic will turn heads everywhere.

Lot 181

1964 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Pagoda Transmission: automaticMileage:35487The Mercedes-Benz W113 roadsters, designed by Paul Bracq, were produced from 1963 through to 1971 with their distinctive ‘pagoda’ hardtop roof giving them their contemporary nick name. All models feature an inline six-cylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection using a mechanical pump system adapted from the diesel engine. All are rear-wheel drive and are also equipped with independent rear suspension, a feature that greatly improved road handling. These SL’s were typically sold with a soft top and an optional removable hardtop; the so-called ‘Coupé/Roadster’ configuration. The 230 SL made its debut at the prestigious Geneva Motor Show in March 1963 where Technical Director Fritz Nallinger introduced it as follows, It was our aim to create a very safe and fast sports car with high performance which, despite its sports characteristics, provides a high degree of travelling comfort. Mercedes-Benz Chief Engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut, who was as competent behind the wheel as most racing drivers, demonstrated the capabilities of the 230 SL on a tight short racetrack near Montreux in 1963 where he put up a best lap time of 47.5 seconds and, incidentally, out-performed Mike Parkes in his three litre V12 Ferrari 250GT.The vendor for this delightful Pagoda tells us that he first saw the car on the cover of Classic and Sports Car magazine and decided it would be an ideal present for his wife’s 40th birthday. He was right and she was over the moon when the car arrived from the Silchester Garage. During their 14-year tenure the car has covered a mere 2,000 miles. Most of these journeys were short trips to the local village or car shows and once a year it went on a pilgrimage to Goodwood. This Mercedes has been well looked after by leading Pagoda specialists, Roger Edwards of Amersham with receipts totalling over £6,000 on nine services. Although not documented, we are also informed that £3,000 was spent on a gearbox rebuild and £2,400 on the removal of two small rust spots. This stunning Pagoda also benefits from a desirable Becker Mexico Retro design stereo. Offered to auction with a desirable factory hardtop, service invoices, previous MoT test certificates and even a framed copy of the cover of Classic and Sports Car that started the vendors ownership.

Lot 194

2013 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Transmission: manualMileage:63473The Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204) is the third generation of the C-Class and was introduced on 18th January 2007 at the Geneva Motor Show. The C63 AMG is reportedly the first AMG-Mercedes designed from the ground-up. Its AMG C-Class predecessors had essentially featured bolt on performance modifications, and according to Car and Driver these earlier AMG models suffered from understeer and heavy steering. The C63 AMG has a revised front suspension that is shared with the CLK 63 AMG Black Series. The C63 AMG also has the quickest, most responsive steering of any Mercedes automobile to date. The Mercedes-Benz M156 engine, provides the C63 AMG with more horsepower and torque over its direct rivals such as the Audi RS4 and BMW M3, offering a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds.Originally registered on 17th May 2013 this beautiful C63 is finished in Pearl White with black leather trim. The rear wheel arches have been widened by 90mm and the rear axle extended. The car has been Stage 1 remapped and now produces 507 bhp with improved gear changes. A carbon front spoiler has been fitted as well as a F1 carbon defuser. Under door lighting has been fitted which is generally only found on the Black Series range. This is clearly a very well cared for and much loved example, presenting in excellent condition. Seven services have been carried out, the first five by main dealers and latterly by marque specialists, the last service was carried out on 25th January 2023. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate, together with a history folder. This C63 AMG is very versatile, offering blistering performance (where permitted) or sitting in traffic, whatever happens it will put a smile on your face.

Lot 318

Innovative, early 1960s Formula Junior/Monoposto car wearing the all enveloping (streamline) bodywork originally fitted to John Cooper's 1959 French Grand Prix entry. It was fashionable in Formula One in the mid 1950s to have all-enveloping streamlined bodywork for the faster circuits of the calendar. In 1954/55, the Mercedes-Benz cars ran bodywork that was genuinely streamlined and the likes of Connaught, Maserati, Vanwall and Cooper all tried full-scale bodywork, which perhaps may not have been aerodynamically streamlined, but certainly enclosed the open wheels resulting in a reduction in drag. In 1958, Rob Walker had some good results in his F2 Cooper with the streamliner body, especially at the fast Reims circuit. For the 1959 French Grand Prix at Reims, John Cooper brought along his latest streamlined bodywork for Jack Brabham’s F1 car. It had been briefly tested in the rain at a wet Silverstone test session, however at the fast French circuit, and especially along the Soissons straight, the car tended to become airborne, and it was quickly converted back to its original open-wheeled bodywork. The complexities of downforce were not fully understood in those days and it’s not surprising that an aluminium profile built to resemble an aircraft wing would naturally want to fly when it reached ‘take off’ speed. Streamlined bodywork was not used in 1960, and in 1961, Streamliners were banned altogether.John Moore, supplier of Lockheed brakes and clutches to the race car builders of the day, noticed the abandoned ‘streamliner’ bodywork sitting in the rafters at the Cooper Car Company whilst visiting the works one day and quickly acquired the body with a plan to race a car in both the 1962 Monoposto and Formula Championships. His idea was that the car could have dual bodywork, sports and single seater, to suit a variety of championshipsJohn Moore also supplied Ken Tyrrell, and his next acquisition was some prototype Formula Junior uprights, Condor wheels and 8'', iron-lined alloy brake drums. With a chassis cleverly fabricated to support both the sports car and single-seater body panels, he entered both Championships, winning the 1962 Monoposto Championship including three lap records with an average speed of an incredible 93mph around the Silverstone GP circuit. The car ran a Ford E93A side-valve engine fuelled through a Weber 45DCOE and an early Mini gearbox with chain drive to the rear wheels.John Moore sold the car to Derek Edwards who, in 1963, fitted a Formula Junior BMC engine and raced it until 1970. The car was subsequently raced by Malcom Hadley-Saw who was a member of the Essex 750 MC and his flamboyant exploits were recorded in a video called ‘’Charge of the Flight Brigade’’ at one race at Mallory Park (video incl.) In 1971, it was purchased by Bill Wheeler with ambitions to race in Formula 4 but he left for Australia before the car had turned a wheel. In 1990, David Morgan, the 750 MC archivist, bought the Warwick and partially restored it before, in 2000, it became the property of our vendor, himself an accomplished engineer, and raced by him in the 750 MC Trophy Series with some success. The last couple of outings were at the Crystal Palace Sprints in 2010 and 2011, coming second in class to Simon Taylor’s HWM Chevrolet. We understand that it will be supplied to sale with two 1,172 cc Ford side-valve engines. This incredible car has a history that puts it in the sweet spot of early 1960s innovation with Cooper at its heart and a car that would be welcome at prestigious motorsport events when there was a class for racers of that era. It’s accompanied by a fascinating history file, great provenance and some period photos.A lovely piece of motorsport history first hammered into shape in the days of Mercedes’ legendary W196 Streamliner. SpecificationMake: WARWICKModel: SPORTS/FJYear: 1961Chassis Number: TBARegistration Number: N/ATransmission: ManualMake: Click here for more details and images

Lot 401

**Please note the car needs a new SAM unit. There is a three week wait period with Mercedes to order a new unit and this is being arranged, with costs covered by the seller** First supplied to legendary Grand Prix driver, Mr Tony Brooks, and for sale directly from the Brooks family. This Mercedes-Benz C32 AMG was presented when new to its one and only owner, the legendary Grand Prix driver, Mr Tony Brooks. During his professional driving career, Tony drove in 39 Grand Prix races, winning six of them and finishing on the podium ten times. His career spanned the exciting early years of Grand Prix racing and he drove for both the successful British Vanwall team as well as the emerging Scuderia Ferrari under the early stewardship of Enzo Ferrari himself. Finishing 3rd in the Vanwall team, he went on to finish second in the world championship for Ferrari. During his era, only Juan Manuel Fangio, Alberto Ascari and Stirling Moss were more successful. In 1955 he was studying for his finals in dentistry – the family profession – when he was called in as a last-minute replacement at the Connaught team for the Syracuse GP, which he then won. It was a remarkable feat, the first GP win for a British driver in a British car for 31 years, and earned him the moniker of “the racing dentist”. He also enjoyed a varied and successful Sports Car career, winning the 1,000 km race at the Nurburgring as well as the RAC Tourist Trophy race at Silverstone as team mate to Stirling Moss. He drove successfully at Le Mans and was lucky to survive a substantial accident during the night at Le Mans in 1957 before going on to win the British Grand Prix held in the same year.Tony was a highly respected and proud member of the BRDC, and enormously liked and admired. He was a charming, unassuming gentleman and the unsung hero of an era when racing was exceptionally dangerous.  The C32 was AMG's take on the W203 C-Class that was introduced for the 2002 model year. They were powered by Mercedes' M112 E32 ML supercharged 3.2-litre V6 which, when gently massaged by AMG, produced 349hp and 332 lb/ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. This exceptional example, which he owned from new, is offered here for sale directly from the Brooks family. As requested by him at the time, the electronic speed limiter was removed when new - not altogether surprising. It presents really well in Brilliant Silver over a well equipped black leather interior and has recently benefitted from a new battery and a fresh MOT. On offer today at No Reserve, this is a fascinating part of motor racing history with exceptional provenance and pedigree. SpecificationMake: MERCEDESModel: C32 AMGYear: 2002Chassis Number: WDC2030652R035160Registration Number: LG02 FKRTransmission: AutomaticEngine Number: 112961-60-002655Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 120000 MilesMake: RHDClick here for more details and images

The K8 was surely the ultimate development of Mercedes Benz  superb R230, and this is one of only six factory-built cars in the UK.Introduced in 2002, after some five years in development, the R230 Series SL Roadster was an engineering tour de force. Painstakingly modelled on a state-of-the-art supercomputer which enabled the designers to analyse every curve and line, it looked utterly sensational with an air of barely-contained aggression that gave it huge road presence. With its balletic folding roof that takes less than 20 seconds and packed full of sophisticated electronic driver aids which made it immensely safe but still fun to drive, it was an instant success and is widely considered to be the best-looking Mercedes for many years. However, they were produced in commercial numbers, and there are always enthusiasts who would like something a little more exclusive and that market was catered for by Mercedes’ Performance Division, AMG, who, in 2003 introduced their SL55 AMG. Seriously powerful and impressively fast, the supercharged 5.4-litre V8 was rated at 493bhp and the AMG was fitted with larger wheels, bigger brakes, uprated electronics and some subtle cosmetic changes. The SL55 AMG was expensive, exclusive and rather special but, as always, there were one or two customers for whom it wasn’t quite special enough and, for those discerning individuals, the Holy Grail was the Brabus K8.BRABUS GmbH is a German high-performance automotive aftermarket tuning company founded in 1977 in Bottrop. Their ‘K8’ was launched at the Geneva Salon and marketed as a ‘performance kit’ but in truth it’s considerably more than that. The engine modifications require that each Brabus dealer has a dedicated engine builder and similarly the suspension, electronic and cosmetic changes all require experienced specialists. Hardly a ‘kit’. The engine modifications were primarily to the supercharger drive with a custom vibration damper and a new pulley for improved belt-drive geometry, high-performance metal catalysts and an auxiliary circulation pump with opposing radiator. This raised output to a minimum of 530bhp and a tree stump-pulling torque of 572lb/ft. and, when he was fully happy, the engine builder signed a small brass plaque and attached it to the top of the engine. Brabus also tweaked the car's aerodynamics to enhance high speed stability with a new front spoiler, while a more prominent diffuser works the air harder at the back to increase downforce. Underneath, the car's active body control suspension was recalibrated using an electronic module for the ABC, lowering ride height by 15mm, and the braking system was uprated by the Brabus engineers. Whilst the additional 40 odd bhp produce a small increase in performance, we understand that it’s the K8’s amazing handling that takes the SL55 to another level. The redesigned side skirts create an aerodynamic transition between the wheel arches and feature automatic illumination of the ground whenever the door is opened and the new rear apron incorporates a subtly altered diffuser. Externally, these modifications are not immediately noticeable which cannot be said about the striking polished 20” Brabus ‘Monoblock’ wheels. On offer here we have an original UK-supplied right-hand drive 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG developed to Brabus K8 specification at the factory during February 2003 before being delivered on 28th May 2003. It’s finished in gleaming Obsidian Black with an ‘exclusive’ Black/Anthracite leather interior and a Designo Alcantara roof lining in Alpaca Grey. It was well-optioned from new (panoramic glass roof, alarm, phone prep, Parktronic, Keyless-go, CD changer etc.) and would have cost around £165,000 at the time. With an indicated mileage of 50,000, the Mercedes has been maintained to the highest of standards with fairly recent expenditure covering two new batteries, fuel pump pressure sender, rear driveshafts, ABC pump and thrust arm. The ABC front struts have also been replaced and brand new Brabus Monoblock VI wheels with Vredestein tyres have been fitted to further enhance this already head-turning Mercedes. A five-year ceramic coating was applied a couple of years ago alongside a deep clean and full paint correction. The car is accompanied by two spare keys, the full book pack and numerous invoices. This is a very rare car in wonderful condition and, if ever a car was worth a trip to inspect, then this is it, and you won’t be disappointed.SpecificationMake: MERCEDESModel: SL55 AMG BRABUSYear: 2003Chassis Number: WDB2304742F054882Registration Number: GN53 YLHTransmission: AutoEngine Number: 11399260016417Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 50000 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Grey HideClick here for more details and images

Offered from 34-years private ownership, a fabulous right-hand drive 190 SL presenting beautifully in its original paint colour and retaining many original features. The 1955 launch of the 190 SL cemented Mercedes-Benz's reputation as the car manufacturer for those who wanted elegance, build quality and a good turn of speed. Unsurprisingly, most of the 26,000 units were sold to the North American market and, it's believed, just some 562 were made in right-hand drive. Although stunningly pretty, the 190 SL had stiff competition in the UK from domestic sports car manufacturers such as Jaguar, Austin-Healey and the significantly cheaper models from MG. Consequently, a UK-supplied 190 SL is perhaps the rarest of all sports cars from that era, especially compared to the huge number of cars sold to countries who drive on the other side of the road.Offered here is one of those 562 UK-supplied, right-hand drive cars and this example was first registered for use here in the summer of 1959. Fresh to market for the first time in 34 years, ‘5 BOF’ is only available as part of a deceased estate and once formed part of an eclectic collection of landmark classics from around the world. The owner, a gentleman and successful businessman, travelled the world for both work and pleasure and, as a lifelong motoring enthusiast, would often discover an interesting motorcar and add it to the Collection. This 190 SL was discovered in the UK in the late 1980s, added to the Collection and, over the years, has been subject to a mechanical overhaul and bodywork restoration. Many mechanical components including the engine appear to have been rebuilt and, on test, the 190 SL fired into life on-the-button and sounded very healthy. The paintwork is fresh and panel gaps are very good with the black fabric hood fitting well and hardtop also presenting nicely. It's accompanied by a history file which contains a number of old MOTs, the original handbook and the current V5C registration papers ready for export or change of keeper. Also forming part of the sale are a period Becker Mexico TR stereo (perhaps original) the original Solex carburettors and airbox as seen in the images. The attractive Cherished Registration Number does form part of the sale and will stay with the car.Continuing the late owner’s programme of improvements with some careful detailing would really lift this SL to the next level and, as such, is offered at a very sensible guide. Perfectly useable as is, this is an opportunity to own one of the most beautiful sportscars ever manufactured, rare in right-hand drive, with the potential to really add value.SpecificationMake: MERCEDES-BENZModel: 190SLYear: 1959Chassis Number: 12104020014566Registration Number: 5 BOFTransmission: ManualDrive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 29500 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: MagnoliaClick here for more details and images

Fully restored, discerningly upgraded, and routinely serviced; a bespoke Mk2 for fast-road driving and touring. The car presented here is a 1962 Jaguar Mk2 3.8-litre, originally delivered to Stockholm, Sweden. The car remained in Sweden and eventually found its way to the workshop of well-regarded Swedish Jaguar specialist, Bertil Backstrom, famed for his restorations and bespoke commissions of Jaguar cars. Back in 2008, our long-time classic car enthusiast vendor was on a road-trip which took him through this particular Swedish town when he noticed numerous classic cars, prompting him to make enquiries and follow the throng. He made the acquaintance of Bertil and was highly impressed with his work and approach to getting the best out of 1960s Jaguars. Thus, our vendor commissioned this car exactingly – benefitting from a full ground-up restoration, a completely rebuilt ‘hot’ 3.8-litre engine, a modern 5-speed Getrag gearbox (from M&C Wilkinson Ltd.), Coopercraft brakes (from David Manners), rear axle and suspension (from Vicarage), race-quality KONI dampers (from David Manners), and PAS (from M&C Wilkinson Ltd.) etc. There are lots of photographs of its restoration, a JDHT CoA and a large history file documenting its upkeep and maintenance since 2008.Our vendor has really enjoyed this car, registering it in the UK, and using it between homes in London and Scotland, jaunts through Europe and on numerous rally events. He has covered some 7,500 miles in it, keeping a logbook of mileage and servicing, saying “It's a comfortable car, really quite quick and stable, an absolute joy to drive”. The car has always been garage-stored and maintained by Jaguar specialist Marcus Barclay, ensuring it was always ‘match fit’ and ready for use. Our fastidious vendor is very particular about his small collection of cars - one very special Mercedes-Benz example he inherited from his father and has driven it around the world - a point made to emphasise that the commissioning and ownership of this Mk2 has been of the highest order, by a knowledgeable and dedicated owner, and these qualities are reflected in the car. This is a classic car that is not claiming to be original but simply applies the classic car experience to modern driving/usage – a ‘best-of-both-worlds’ scenario. It has all the enhancements that build on the inherent Mk2 3.8 qualities, just making it faster, more reliable, more comfortable, safer and able to tour with ease. A great opportunity to acquire a very competent classic Jaguar.SpecificationMake: JAGUARModel: MK2 3.8-LITRE SALOONYear: 1962Chassis Number: 220733BWRegistration Number: 217 XUPTransmission: ManualEngine Number: LC6531-8 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveMake: RHDInterior Colour: TanClick here for more details and images

Lot 20

1956 Mercedes Benz 300 Adenauer 3 litre automatic 4 door saloon Highly desirable right-hand drive and automatic variant   Registration: NFO 136 Chassis:1860166500258 Odometer: 71000 Transmission:  Automatic MOT: Exempt • Offered with a comprehensive history file and Mercedes handbook • Bills on file for circa £30,000 for restoration work over the past decade • Original specification interior  • Subject of a bare metal respray  • Highly desirable automatic variant   Guide £30,000-£35,000        Outside Finished in the period colour Black which suits the car very well. The bodywork is very good indeed and shows no signs of rust anywhere. The paintwork with is without fault throughout the car. The chrome is generally good on the bumpers and radiator though there is some pitting around the door chrome and window frames. The wheels and hub caps are good and the tyres have plenty of tread and are matching. Inside The original specification leather seats are in fair condition apart from a small 10mm tear on the passenger seat which could be repaired and some wear on the driver’s seat bolster and armrest. The headlining and carpets are without issue and are very good. The dashboard appears without damage apart form two small drill holes on the passenger side. The instrumentation is excellent as is the steering wheel. There is some damage to the near side rear seat side at the lower edge just above the carpet and the offside front door card has some damage at the front edge near the wing though it is not visible when the door is closed . There are luggage nets on the front seats. Mechanicals  The Mercedes starts readily and the engine is like a turbine in its operation. The starting procedure must be unique in that the gear selector lever is pushed foreword to engage the starter motor. The brakes and gearbox all appear to be as they should be and the suspension is supple. History There is a comprehensive history file with the car and most importantly the invoices from renowned restorer Stewart Walker engineers in 2014 amounting to circa £30,000 covering the restoration work.  Pleasingly we also have many photographs that detail the restoration work including the bare metal repaint. Our Opinion These cars we built to the very highest standards by skilled craftsmen at the Mercedes-Benz factory. They were fearsomely expensive and often used as Government vehicles or by Royalty. Our car is highly desirable being an automatic variant which suits these cars very well indeed. The 300 was delivered new to Kenya then imported into the UK around 1983 as evidenced by paperwork in the history file. These cars rarely come to the market and they offer the very highest quality motoring a relatively modest outlay.

Lot 32

1993 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.6 Litre 4 door salon Highly desirable 2.6 litre version of this increasingly popular model Registration: L495 UGC Chassis: WDB2010292G096006  Odometer: 114000 Transmission: Automatic  MOT: October 2023 No Reserve  • Electric sliding sunroof and electric windows front and rear  • Headlight wipers • Heat insulating glass • Increased capacity fuel tank • Luggage nets in back of front seats and folding rear armrest • Leather steering wheel and gearstick  • Heat insulating glass • Two keys  Outside  Finished in the original colour of signal red and in paint code 568. Fitted with Mercedes alloy wheels which are all in good order and wearing tyres with plenty of tread. The paintwork, whilst in fair order would benefit from a professional cut and polish to eradicate any imperfections of orange peeling and sinkage. An invoice on file shows it had remediation work to the paint in April 2022. On the upper side, there is no visible signs of rust and the only evidence being very minor surface under the rear offside wheel arch and front nearside arch. There is a small stone chip on the offside front wing near the base of the A-post. Inside The cloth interior in Mushroom code 065 is in excellent order and is without any damage to the seats, door cards or carpets. There are fact Mercedes factory fitted carpet over mats. The headlining is good and not sagging though there is a small hole in the sunroof cover which is barely visible  . The leather covered steering wheel shows signs of wear though it is fitted with an aftermarket cover. A Mercedes audio unit is present.  Mechanicals The Mercedes fires readily and quickly settles down to a steady idle. On the road it performs well with good brakes and suspension, smooth changes from the four-speed automatic gearbox and no undue noises. History  There is very little paperwork with our car. On file we have a V5c , current MOT certificate , original specification code sheet, an invoice for paintwork dated 2022 and a Haynes manual.   Our Opinion  These 190 models have long been undervalued and appreciated but this has now changed and they are recognised as a true classic. Our car is very rare that it has the 2.6 litre engine which is highly sought after. This is a good solid car that it ready to use and with some rectification to the paintwork using a buffing machine would grace any collection.

Some of the cars history includes being used by the works BMW team during the 2017 and 2018 season with its most successful years being 2015 through to 2018 when it notched up 6 race wins with Sam Tordoff and Rob Collard behind the wheel.   The car last campaigned in the 2020 BTCC by Carl Broadly before being purchased by Ciceley Racing in 2021 to be used as a training car for Adam Morgan and Tom Chilton when the team switched from the front wheel drive Mercedes A-Class to the rear wheel drive BMW’s. The car was then used by Cosworth in 2021 to test the new Hybrid running gear for the 2022 season and recently converted back to 2021 BTCC specification by Cicely. It was used as a static display by the BTCC last year hence the Kwik Fit livery. Our Opinion      This is a serious bit of kit that is available to buy for a fraction of its build cost which could be used as the ultimate track day car or would be eligible for a number of race series. Not for the faint hearted.
