1978 Mercedes C123 230C Auto Make: Mercedes Model: 230 CWYear: 1978Mileage: 46335VIN: 12304322005473Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: NUI6828Transmission: automaticMercedes-Benz's smart and reliable W123 range encompassed saloons, coupes, estates and limousines. This silver 230C coupe was registered in July 1978 and sent new to Northern Ireland. There is a service booklet, but it was only stamped up to 22,699 miles in February 1980. There's also an owner's manual and other original MB documentation such as European and UK service guides. Other history is a little sparse; there are some Northern Ireland test certificates from 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1992 and 2003 which do help support the low mileage reading of 46,335 - the mileage in 1986 was 37,100 while in 2003, it is recorded as 40,210. A couple of invoices record a new exhaust, along with a service, central locking repair, replacement temperature and petrol gauges, carburettor reconditioning and tune up in 2016. The V5C is present and records two former keepers. While the car has presumably received body work in the past, there are some areas, such as the bottoms of the inner door panels, that would benefit from further attention. This 1995 E200 automatic has the four-cylinder 1998cc engine and is finished in dark blue with beige fabric interior. The V5C shows two registered keepers and its MoT is valid until September 2022. For a 26-year-old car that has covered nearly 150,000 miles, this Mercedes appears to be in very good order indeed. The interior is in excellent condition while, aside from a few bonnet and nose stonechips, the exterior is also extremely nice. Overall the car gives the impression of having been very well-cared for. The history folder includes the current V5C document, most recent MoT certificate, and original document wallet with owner's handbook, touring guarantee booklet, security system instructions, dealership directory and fully-stamped up service book, with the entries from Mercedes-Benz dealerships or specialists in the marque. 1995 Mercedes R129 SL280 AutoMake: MercedesModel: SL280Year: 1995Mileage: 134642VIN: WDB1290582F107984Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: M579NPFTransmission: automatic 2,799cc. Finished in blue/black with grey leather interior. Due to the ULEZ charges being applied where he resides in central London, the vendor is very reluctantly selling this SL280 after nineteen years of joyful, trouble-free motoring. He purchased the car from Ware Garages for £19,750 in 2001 when it had 63,000 miles on the clock and since then has averaged 3,000 to 4,000 miles per year. He advises that he could not imagine having a better car. The car, with one exception when one of its computers had to be replaced, has run perfectly throughout the whole time. The tyres, battery and other items have been replaced as required. After 2003 the service history is incomplete but this is due the car being maintained by the vendor's local garage when every MoT was effectively treated as a service. The only faults that he is aware of is a rust spot (less than a centimetre) on the left wing and the four door locking system is key only. The car has been garaged throughout his ownership and used twice weekly to visit the grandchildren. It comes complete with the original service book containing either main dealer or specialist stamps from 1995 to 2003, then 2007 and 2013, MoTs dating from 1999 to the present, 2002 bill of sale, wallet and handbooks. 1967 Mercedes Benz 250 SE Auto CabrioletMake: MercedesModel: 250 SE Cabriolet Year: 1967Mileage: 89000VIN: 11102322087114Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: NRK881ETransmission: automatic Just 954 Mercedes-Benz 250 SE Cabriolets were built between 1965 and 1967, so even in their native Germany, they were rare machines. Here, they were even scarcer - it's believed that just 26 came to the UK in right-hand drive form. This is one of those cars, registered in January 1967. After its initial owner, the following one kept it from February 1969 until 2021 - the sales invoice to her being present in the paperwork. £7000 has recently been spent on recommissioning, including £149 on a fuel sender unit, £1330 on a stainless steel exhaust, £611 on a fuel injection pump, and £2400 on labour. The new parts fitted are detailed in an invoice. Included in the well-organised history folder is the current V5C, original green logbook, and Mercedes-Benz handbook and other booklets, including the bonus of a commercially-produced hardback work on the W110, W111 and W112 models. The MoT certificates include the current one, which expires in August 2022, as well as previous ones from 1990 and 2001. A handful of invoices from the 1980s to 2001 show that the transmission was reconditioned in 2001 at 88,638 miles, at a cost of £1030.92. One interesting curio in the file is an unstamped and unused fuel rationing coupon booklet dating from the 1973 fuel crisis. A tonneau cover is also present, as is the spare wheel, battery charger, a jack and a wheel brace. Externally, the car is in very good condition, with a clean, well-fitting hood and tidy chrome (save for some lifting on the top of the radiator grille, around the badge mount). The inside is generally well-preserved but there is damage to the wood on the dash-top - a common problem on these cars caused by sunlight through the windscreen - and a missing carpet in the driver's footwell. The leather seats show some patination commensurate with the car's age. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 20TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

Entered in the 2021 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run1904 Peugeot Type 67A 10/12hp Twin-Cylinder Swing-Seat TonneauRegistration no. LE7436Chassis no. 5348 Engine no. AI 5592•Restored in the early 1970s•Four-speeds-plus-reverse gearbox•Conventional control pedal layout•Present ownership since 1994•Many-time London to Brighton finisher•Entered in the 2021 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, no. 253 Footnotes:The Peugeot is the French car that still maintains its excellence and is the only firm of long-standing repute still manufacturing two-cylinder engined cars and with a range of models from 8 hp to 50 hp ... it is made apparent that the Peugeot cars are fully worthy of the high place they have taken in the motor world.' - Max Pemberton. The Amateur Motorist, 1907.Formerly producers of tools, coffee mills, umbrella spikes and corsetry, Peugeot commenced its long-standing connection with transport in 1885 when it added cycle manufacture to its portfolio. Amongst the world's oldest surviving motor manufacturers, the company commenced car production in 1889 with a steam-powered tri-car but soon abandoned steam in favour of the internal combustion engine, building a succession of ever larger automobiles before introducing the first of its famous Bébé light cars in 1900. Step by step Peugeot modernised its designs, adopting the steering wheel in 1901 on the Type 36 and front-mounted engines on all its new models in 1902. From that time forward Peugeot unashamedly copied the Mercedes style in miniature, adopting square-cut honeycomb radiators and reinforced timber chassis; even the twin-cylinder 9hp had mechanically-operated inlet valves in a pair-cast 'T-head' engine. Peugeot produced singles, twins and four-cylinder cars at this time, some with chain and others with shaft drive, the latter becoming universal after 1909. Built at Peugeot's Audincourt factory in north-eastern France, this 10/12hp model was purchased from a Mr John Wilkins and brought over to England in the early 1970s as a rolling chassis (see photographs and correspondence on file). The car was subsequently restored by Graham Wilde and Peter Howarth, with any new parts required being made from the original Peugeot drawings from 1904. The new body is painted green and the interior is upholstered in red leather. First registered in the UK on 1st February 1974 with Peter Howarth as the registered owner, the Peugeot was certified by the VCC dating committee on 3rd April 1974 (certificate number '1373').The twin-cylinder engine displaces 1,817cc and is rated at 10/12hp. The car retains the original dual ignition system, while the gearbox has four speeds plus reverse. The drive from the engine to the gearbox is via a cone clutch and the drive from the gearbox to the rear wheels is by means of twin chains. The pedal control layout is as current-day manual cars. Braking is by a foot-operated transmission brake and a lever-operated rear-wheel handbrake. Drip-feed oiling to both engine and gearbox is supplied by an engine-driven Dubrule system. An auxiliary engine and gearbox oil 'top up' system is operated by a hand pump.In the present ownership the car has been kept in a heated garage within a Carcoon bubble. It is regularly maintained by the owner, while any major works have been carried out by N P Veteran Engineering (see bills on file). Significant works carried out in the past eight years or so include the following: 2007.Refurbish and repack water pump. Repair radiator leak (£1,500). New engine cylinder2008.liners, pistons and piston rings. New transmission brake drum (£11,000). Relined clutch (£2,000). Relined rear brakes. Re-seat engine valves and make new valve springs (£2,500).The then owner/restorer entered his first Brighton-to-Brighton Run in 1974, and it is understood that he and his son did the Run regularly until the car was sold in 1994. The current owner purchased the Peugeot in March 1994 through Smallbone Vintage Vehicles, Birmingham. The owner's family has entered the car in the London-to-Brighton Run regularly since purchase. They are a large family - three children with partners and 10 grandchildren - so competition for a seat is fierce! Most times the Peugeot carries five occupants of various ages and size, and on a few occasions, even two additional small children! 'LE 7436' has failed to finish on only two occasions: one because of a simple electrical issue (in horrendous rain), the other a medical issue with the driver...! Always greeted with much admiration, the car has also been entered in several local events and shows, principally to demonstrate automotive engineering from 100 years ago.Sadly, the vendor has now reached a point where the physical demands of driving and looking after the car are too much. He would love the new owner to get as much fun and enjoyment out of the car as has he and his family.Described by the vendor as in excellent condition throughout, this imposing motor car has been entered and accepted as a participant in this year's London-to-Brighton Run on Sunday 7th November. A fully enclosed Brian James Sprint Shuttle trailer, tailored to transport the Peugeot, is available via separate negotiation. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
