2000 Mercedes-Benz CLK 230 Kompressor Elegance Transmission: automaticMileage:75000Historically, the E-Class is Mercedes-Benz' best-selling model, with more than 13 million sold by 2015. The first E-Class series was originally available as a four-door saloon, five-door estate, two-door coupé and two-door convertible. From 1997 to 2009, the equivalent coupé and convertible were sold under the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class nameplate which was actually based on the mechanical underpinnings of the smaller C-Class while borrowing the styling and some powertrains from the E-Class. A trend continued with the C207 E-Class coupé/convertible which was sold parallel to the W212 E-Class saloon and estate models. With the latest incarnation of the E-Class released for the 2017 model year, all body styles share the same W213 platform. The coupé (C207) was first shown at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, while the convertible (A207) was unveiled at the 2010 North American International Auto Show.Presented well in metallic blue with grey leather interior, this CLK 230 was purchased in Switzerland as a right hand drive example, costing SFr 82,446, the car boasts extras such as leather, electric heated memory seats, parking sensors, windbreak, air conditioning and rain sensing wipers. Used in Switzerland, as the previous owners summer car, until 2019 when it relocated to the UK, this car was also exclusively serviced by the supplying main agents Procar in Davos. Since its arrival in the UK, the car has covered a mere 4,000 miles and it was always  garaged in the previous owners garage in Switzerland and the UK. Accompanied by the original supplying invoice, an MoT test certificate until August 2024, the original brochure and every servicing invoice from new, this is a fabulous, sporty and classy convertible. Lot 264

1985 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:94547The Mercedes-Benz was manufactured from 1954 and the designation SL derives from the German 'Sport Leicht' or 'Sport Light' and was first applied to the 300 SL 'Gullwing' named after the upward-opening doors. The term SL-Class refers to the marketing variations of the vehicle, including the numerous engine configurations spanning five design generations. The Mercedes-Benz R107 and C107 automobiles were produced from 1971 through to 1989, being the second longest single series ever produced by Mercedes-Benz, after the G-Class. The R107 took the chassis components of the mid-size W114 model and mated them to the larger engines from the S-Class (W116). The SL variant was a two-seat convertible/roadster with standard soft top, hardtop and optional foldable seats for the rear bench. Volume production of the first R107 car, the 350 SL, started in April 1971 alongside the last of the W113 cars.Originally registered on 1st June 1985 this delightful R107 Mercedes-Benz is the larger 4973cc engine model. Finished in Cabernet Red with grey leather interior, this example has the rear seat fitted, as well as a hardtop. Having been in long term ownership for a number of years, this 500 SL comes with a good history folder. Presenting in good order throughout, this Mercedes-Benz drives well with no known faults. The 5.0 litre engine offers brisk performance and a very smooth ride. Supplied with a V5C registration document these Mercedes-Benz 500 SL's have to be well cared for and this one certainly has been.

Lot 284

1991 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL €œFrom the Cheesbrough Collection€ Transmission: automaticMileage:111026The Mercedes-Benz R129 SL was built between 1989 and 2002, a production run of more than a decade that eventually saw more than 200,000 examples being built. Replacing the much-loved - and even longer-lived R107 €“ this was the car that probably did more than any other in creating the hewn-from-solid reputation the company enjoyed at the time. Using a shortened W124 floorpan, the R129 was technologically advanced for its time, featuring electronically controlled suspension damping, a hydraulic roof mechanism, and a hidden rollover bar that could erect itself in milliseconds if it detected a less than optimal situation was developing. Only ever available as a two-door convertible, the SL was nonetheless offered with a decent range of engines whose capacity still bore a direct relevance to the model designation, a logical system that even idiot motoring journalists and discerning consumers alike could understand at a glance. This example is presented in Almandine Red metallic with biscuit leather interior and comes with its factory hardtop and stand and it has a black hood. Inside the history file are many old invoices and its current MoT test certificate which expires in June 2024. The car also comes with its original Mercedes-Benz wallet containing an Owner's Manual and its original service book which has stamps up to 6th July 2018. This example is in need of some love but the car does run and has a current MoT test certificate but ideally light commissioning would be recommended. Consigned by James Good.

Lot 169

1967 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Pagoda Transmission: automaticMileage:50000The Mercedes-Benz W113 roadsters, designed by Paul Bracq, were produced from 1963 through to 1971 with their distinctive 'Pagoda' hardtop roof giving them their contemporary nickname. All models feature an inline six-cylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection using a mechanical pump system adapted from the diesel engine. All are rear-wheel drive and are equipped with independent rear suspension, a feature that greatly improved road handling. It made its debut at the prestigious Geneva Motor Show in March 1963 where Technical Director Fritz Nallinger introduced it as follows, It was our aim to create a very safe and fast sports car with high performance which, despite its sports characteristics, provides a high degree of travelling comfort. Mercedes-Benz Chief Engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut, who was as competent behind the wheel as most racing drivers, demonstrated the capabilities of the 230 SL on a tight short racetrack near Montreux in 1963 where he put up a best lap time of 47.5 seconds and, incidentally, out-performed Mike Parkes in his Ferrari 250GT.Originally registered on 1st January 1967 this delightful 230 SL Pagoda has been in our vendors tenure since October 2012. During his ownership the car has benefitted from regular servicing by renowned Marque specialist Roger Edwards of Amersham. Described as a very usable example, this classic Mercedes presents well in dark blue coachwork with a black leather interior. The car is offered to auction with a V5C Registration document, various bills and receipts and the all-important factory hardtop. Given the sensible estimate this car represents a good investment opportunity and offers tremendous fun. Consigned by Dominic Lake.

Lot 213

1991 Mercedes-Benz 300 GES Transmission: manualMileage:156738The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagon, short for Geländewagen (cross-country vehicle), is characterised by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. It uses three fully locking differentials, one of the few vehicles to have such a feature. The G-Class is still in production and is one of the longest produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles in their history with a span of 32 years. It was developed as a military vehicle from a suggestion by the Shah of Iran and offered as a civilian version in 1979. The first major refinements were introduced in 1981, including an automatic transmission, air conditioning, an auxiliary fuel tank, protective headlamp grilles and a cable winch. Fuel injection became available in 1982 when the 230GE was introduced in Turin, along with more comfortable and supportive front seats, auxiliary heating, wider tyres and wheel arches. For 1985, differential locks, central door locking and a tachometer became standard. This very well presented manual transmission example is offered in its original colour combination of Astra Metallic Silver over a black leather interior and looks excellent having been treated to much restoration and maintenance work in recent years. Over £15,000 was spent including a 'windows out' respray and more recently the G-Wagon was treated to a set of new tyres all round. As such the G-Wagon presents in very good condition throughout. The paintwork is excellent and the interior including the headlining and carpets are presented in very good condition. Offered with a history file including photos of the comprehensive respray, many sundry bills, invoices for various works, many previous MoT test certificates, the current UK registration document and an MoT valid until June 2024. This is one of the best examples we have seen and having been maintained and restored to such a level we are sure it will be keenly contested at auction.

Lot 134

1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 Coupé Transmission: automaticMileage:96401The W124 generation Mercedes, produced from 1984 to 1995, was renowned for its exceptional build quality, reliability, and advanced safety features, the W124 solidified Mercedes-Benz's reputation for producing durable luxury vehicles. Its sleek yet understated exterior design has aged gracefully, while its spacious and luxurious interior continues to offer unparalleled comfort even by contemporary standards. Under the bonnet, the W124 boasted a range of powerful and efficient engines, including inline-four, inline-six, and V8 options, catering to diverse driving preferences. Its innovative engineering features, such as multi-link rear suspension and advanced aerodynamics, delivered a refined driving experience characterized by smooth handling and impressive stability. Beyond its mechanical excellence, the W124 left an indelible mark as a symbol of status and prestige, beloved by enthusiasts and luxury car aficionados worldwide. Its enduring popularity among collectors and enthusiasts speaks volumes about its timeless appeal and lasting legacy in automotive history. This example is fitted with the top of the range (barring AMG), 3.2-litre straight-six and is presented in dark grey two-tone with a cream leather interior. The car presents well overall and the condition is commensurate with its mileage of 96,401. The interior has aged very well too, with quite minor wearing to the leather and all touch points.  Our vendor purchased the car in 2023 from a long-term owner who purchased the car in around 2006. The service book contains 12 stamps showing regular servicing over the years, the most recent of which being in October 2021 at 92,500 miles. The car was fitted with new fuel pumps and a new catalytic converter in 2021, a little under 1,000 miles ago. The car is supplied to auction with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate valid until 28th November 2024 and a raft of bills and paperwork for works carried out over the years. Consignor Fraser SmithGuide price: £4,000-£7,000

Lot 143

2012 Jaguar XKR Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:49150The XK8 was launched in 1996 to replace the XJ-S. Two body styles were produced, a coupé and a convertible and the car was the first in the Jaguar line-up to use Jaguar's newly developed V8 engine. In 2000, the supercharged XKR was added to the range. This produced a staggering 503 horsepower, a subtle rear spoiler, wire mesh front grille and red exterior emblems were identifying features. The XKR's engine was made in England, the ignition system was from NGK in Japan, the transmission was a Mercedes-Benz 722.6, the lighting system was by Valeo in France and the supercharger was made by Eaton in the USA, it was truly a world car. The redesigned XK was styled by Jaguar's chief designer Ian Callum of Aston Martin. The standard XK model has a limited top speed of 158mph whilst the XKR had a limited top speed of 174mph.First registered on 17th May 2012, this fantastic XKR was built towards the end of the XKR's production run. A desirable convertible model, this 174mph monster presents beautifully in black with black interior and has recently benefitted from having almost £3,000 spent on it with work including refurbishing and refitting the supercharger, replacing the gearbox oil cooler, replacing the timing chains, tensioners and guides, having the pedestrian sensors replaced as well as having a general service carried out. The mohair roof is in good condition and the roof mechanism reportedly works without fault. With five stamps in the service book, two of which are from main dealers and the recent expenditure, this clean late model example offers supercar thrills at a very reasonable price point, especially when one considered these cars cost £70,000 new! The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well with no issues and is only selling to downsize his collection.Supplied with a V5C registration document, valid MoT test certificate valid through September 2024, receipts and original stamped service book. So much car for the money and with such blistering performance and practicality as well, an opportunity not to be missed. Consigned by Will Penrose.

Lot 158

1973 Mercedes-Benz 280CE €œFrom the Cheesbrough collection€ Transmission: automaticMileage:17719The W114 coupé hailed a completely new range of cars for Mercedes-Benz. Unlike everything else on offer, this did not take any previous elements from the standard 180 from the 1950's. A new designer was also bought in, Paul Bracq, who penned a pure and uncluttered motorcar. The roofline came down and the seats lowered to maintain headroom. The pillars were removed and all four windows wound down completely out of sight. By 1972 a new double overhead camshaft engine had joined the party. With 2,764cc and fuel injection from Bosch, power output rose to 185bhp.This example is presented in cream with biscuit interior including headrests and it also comes with an electric sunroof (currently not working). Its 2.7 litre engine is mated to an automatic gearbox and it comes with MoT test certificate which expires in September 2024. This is a very original car which could do with some light recommissioning although it does run and drive and was serviced by its late owner during his tenure. Its interior we believe has been replaced at some point but there is no evidence to suggest that this is the case. Its chrome bumpers appear to be in good condition with the bodywork showing signs of some rust. An inspection would be recommended. Consigned by James Good.

1987 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:108800Mercedes-Benz revived one of its most famous model designations of all time when it introduced the new 300 SL in 1985. However, on this occasion the newcomer was not a thinly disguised sports racer but the latest in a noble line of six-cylinder luxury Gran Turismos stretching back to the 230 SL of 1963 which was distinguished by its distinctive optional hardtop that earned the model its nickname 'Pagoda top'. When the Type 113 finally finished with the 280 SL in 1971, it was replaced by the V8 engined Type 107, there would not be a six-cylinder model in the range for a further nine years, this changed in 1980 with the launch of the new 280 SL. This used the same twin overhead camshaft engine as the other '280' models which gave 185bhp and a top speed of 127mph. When the 300 SL took over in 1985, it came with a single camshaft engine that produced a mere three horsepower more at the top end, the main gains over the superseded engine being a useful increase in torque and a marked reduction in fuel consumption. This lovely, UK supplied 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is presented in exceptional all-round condition, having been meticulously cared for and dry stored in a private collection for the past seven years and has only incurred minimal mileage. The paintwork finished in Champagne Gold with a matching hardtop is in very good condition throughout. The box pleated seats with eared headrests in supply perforated brown leather and is fitted with the optional rear seat in matching leather. The car has been fully maintained shown by the stamped service book with 23 stamps. Fully recommissioned in less than 1000 miles ago including the brakes fully serviced and reconditioned with new front callipers and new brake fluid. Fitted with 'Gullideckel' alloy wheels, this lovely 300 SL is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in May 2024, the owners' manual, fully stamped service book, a file containing the servicing invoices, two sets of keys and a updated Blaupunkt Memphis audio unit with Bluetooth connectivity. The timeless lines and design of the R107 SL series still looks elegant and contemporary, with this car's exceptional condition it is one to consider if looking for a very usable classic for the summer. Consignor John Tomlin.

2005 Maybach 62 Transmission: automaticMileage:93500Maybach Motorenbau was a manufacturer founded in 1909 by Wilhelm Maybach and his son. In 1960, Maybach was acquired by Daimler-Benz and still remains as a luxury brand of Mercedes-Benz. Daimler produced an ultra-luxury edition of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class under the Maybach brand thus creating an even more magnificent vehicle and offering unrivalled luxury and specification. To promote the new Maybach line, Mercedes-Benz engaged with figures such as Maybach heir, Ulrich Schmid-Maybach together with golfer Nick Faldo to serve as brand ambassadors. When commissioning a vehicle, Maybach would, upon request, offer a huge array of standard and non-standard specification; as long as it was safe, practical and ethical, it could be supplied. The last Maybach vehicle was manufactured in December 2012 although Mercedes-Benz have recently re-instated the name on the high-end S-Class which is known as a Mercedes Maybach.Registered new on 2nd August 2005 this superb looking example is presented in Himalayan Grey paintwork over a Barrier Reef Red leather and walnut trim interior. The coachwork is in excellent condition only showing light stone chips to the front, and the wheels and engine bay present very well. Inside is pure luxury with leather and walnut trim in abundance. The vendor reports that the Maybach drives without issue and offers a beautiful smooth ride, although it should be noted that the factory Sat Nav system is currently not working. Showing 93,500 miles on the odometer the Maybach comes complete with an extensive service history, largely from Mercedes main dealers including its most recent service by Mercedes Sheffield in September 2022 at 90,600. Various sundry bills are also included, previous MoT records, the current UK registration document and an MoT valid until April 2024. Interested parties should note that the Maybach will be freshly MoT'd prior to auction and will be valid until 2025. Debuted in September 1979 as the successor to the earlier W116 range, the W126 was the second generation to officially bear the S-Class name referring to Sonderklasse or 'special class'. The W126 was initially offered with straight-six, V8, and turbo diesel engine saloon cars but in September 1981, a two door coupé version of the W126 was introduced. Compared to its predecessor, the W126 was more aerodynamic, fuel efficient, capacious, and powerful. The W126 S-Class sported a new Mercedes-Benz design style which was subsequently used on other vehicles in the company's line-up. The W126 line also introduced many Mercedes-Benz safety innovations, including the first airbag supplemental restraint systems, seatbelt pre-tensioners and traction control system. This example of this iconic German coupé is presented in Obsidian black with beige leather interior. It comes with its original factory wallet containing the owner's handbook and service book with some stamps from previous servicing. 1982 Mercedes-Benz 380 SEC Transmission: automaticMileage:58273Following the debut of the 1970s generation W116, Mercedes-Benz began plans for the next-generation S-Class model in October 1973. Codenamed 'project W126,' the project had specific goals: an improved ride, better handling and improved fuel efficiency. These improvements were aimed at helping retain the S-Class' market leadership as the world's best-selling prestige luxury saloon. Following the 1970s oil crisis, Mercedes-Benz had made fuel efficiency an especially pertinent goal named 'Energy Program', even in the large V8 engine versions of the S-Class. In terms of the body design, the objective of the W126 design team, led by Mercedes-Benz's Bruno Sacco, was to produce a car that was sleeker and more aerodynamic than the previous model. The application of lighter materials and alloys combined with thorough wind tunnel testing to reduce overall drag meant the car consumed about 10% less fuel than its predecessor. After six years of development, the W126 was formally introduced at the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (International Motor Show) in Frankfurt on September 1979. The initial line-up featured seven models. In 1981, the American Wheels Magazine selected the W126 model 380SE as its Car of the Year. This example was registered new on 1st August 1982 and is showing a mere 58,273 miles on the odometer.
