**SALEROOM ANNOUNCEMENT: Please note this is an added lot, and so is not in the catalogue.** With just 25,000 miles covered, only one previous keeper, and 12 stamps in the service history, this is a superb example. The words 'base model' don't really work with a car such as Mercedes' SL, but that is essentially what this newcomer (in 2003) wasPriced then at £56,340, it was some £11,450 less than the SL500 - despite identical looksAuto Express saying: "With 245bhp from its 3.7 litres, the SL350 is far from underpowered, and it is also less thirsty than the SL 500, averaging 24.6mpg. The V8 'woofle' may not be present, now replaced by a smooth, sporty six-pot 'hum'. The V6, connected to a six-speed Sequentronic manual transmission, is barely any slower than the V8, and the small pace deficit could be due to the more conventional chassis set up, and with the lighter engine the car feels more incisive in corners than the V8"With just 25,000 miles covered, only one previous keeper, and 12 stamps in the service history, this is a superb exampleLast Mercedes service September 2022   SpecificationMake: MERCEDES-BENZModel: SL 350Year: 2003Chassis Number: WDB2304672F052892Registration Number: BG03 YKCTransmission: AutoEngine Number: 11297331553799 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 25000 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Grey

The W124 is considered to be the last of the ‘million mile Mercedes’. Most engines and running gear were carried over from the previous model, but there were quite a few improvements. Multi-link independent rear suspension was a great improvement, and the whole car felt like a much more modern driving experience. The W124 had advanced crash protection, a bodyshell structure that crumpled progressively for example, while active safety was advanced thanks to the adoption of anti-lock braking as standard in the all the cars, being progressively introduced across the range.Originally registered on 16th November 1989, this W124 estate presents very well in Smoke Silver, which is complemented by black fabric upholstery. The car has been exceptionally well cared for in recent years with over £8,000 in invoices from the well-known Mercedes-Benz specialist John Haynes. We are advised the M102 2.3 litre engine runs well and the automatic transmission operates smoothly and efficiently. Supplied with a V5 registration document together with a current MoT test certificate valid until 21st February 2023, this very useable and versatile 230TE was an instant success and became the industry benchmark for reliability and engineering. The ample boot space, together with the folding rear seat combine to making this one of the largest load spaces available whilst still travelling in comfort.Significant service historyImpressive condition

Lot 128

2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Transmission: automaticMileage:83677With a 0-60mph time of six seconds, the 4973cc, R129 Mercedes-Benz SL500 carried on the tradition of the fast and reliable grand touring convertible. A fully operating electric hood, windows, door mirrors and seats made this model easy and comfortable to operate. The fifth generation SL was in production between 2002 and 2008 and featured the all-new retractable hardtop - an important feature for those British showers! Mercedes-Benz followers were impressed with the stability of the car with the hardtop in place and the ease at which they could remove it. Such was its success; the SL is still one of the leading cars in the Mercedes-Benz range. This car features the very capable 5.0 litre 302bhp V8 powerplant mated to a standard automatic gearbox. Presented in black with cream leather trim, this SL500 was first registered 9th March 2005. Purchased from a main dealership by our vendor and owned ever since, this example has been well maintained. Showing 83,677 miles on the odometer it is fitted with a Sat Nav, electric front seats, active body control and a Bose sound system. The history files contain invoices, previous Mot records, the UK registration document and a MoT test certificate valid until December 2022.The SL500 model is becoming increasingly sought after and this example is not to be overlooked. We are sure this well-presented Mercedes-Benz will be enjoyed by the new owner in the coming months!

Lot 142

1994 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Transmission: automaticMileage:62010Stuttgart supplied these grand-tourers with high levels of comfort including a fabric convertible top as well as a colour-matched and manually detachable hardtop that could be fitted over the stored fabric convertible roof. Other advancements included an electronically controlled damping and the famous hidden, automatically extending roll-over bar. These incredibly accomplished, five litre sportscars represent a truly advanced way to travel.Presented in blue with contrasting biscuit leather trim this two owner from new SL500 was first registered to its original owner on 11th May 1994. When the car was ordered, the vendor was invited to Stuttgart to view his particular SL in production. Supplied with the original book pack, including maintenance book, which has 11 main dealer stamps until 2007 and 42,726 miles. At this point a local garage, Eaton Square in Belgravia SW1 continued maintenance on a regular basis, the last being carried out in February. At this point the car was MoT'd and valeted. The car boasts the hardtop and wind guard and with just 62,010 miles, is a low mileage example of a two owner car. The private plate L500 JJM is also with the car presenting we think, very good value for the larger engine SL R129 in possibly the best colour combination.

Lot 152

2000 Mercedes-Benz G500 ex-Eric ClaptonTransmission: automaticMileage: 94,000 The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagen, short for Geländewagen (or cross-country vehicle), is a four-wheel drive vehicle/sport utility vehicle and characterised by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. It utilizes three fully locking differentials, one of the few vehicles to have such a feature. Originally developed as a military vehicle and offered as a civilian version in 1979, it proved so competent and popular that demand has ensured it is still in production today. Demand came from all over the world with such patronage as the Vatican and the, now famous, series of 'Popemobiles' to use on the Paris-Dakar Rally and many exploratory trips including one to Siberia, the worlds coldest region and driving a standard model traveling 19,000km without breakdown in temperatures as low as -63°F.Presented in brilliant silver with black leather trim, this desirable G500 was initially registered to Eric Clapton in September 2000 in Antigua, with the purpose to be used we are informed at his famous Crossroads rehab on the Caribbean Island. The G500 was infact one of three gifted to him by Mercedes-Benz. The purpose of the car was, we believe, to collect the rich and famous from the private airfield and chauffeur them to the Willoughby Bay Centre in luxury.Documentation including the Antigua and Barbuda registration certificates with Mr Clapton’s name can be found within the history file. Remaining in the ownership of the ‘Slowhand’ until 2019. Then our vendor purchased and returned the car back to the UK; where it has been serviced, re commissioned including a recent new fuel pump, starter motor and steering damper, and obtained a UK V5 and MoT test certificate until August 2023.With rugged good looks and a proven reputation for both on and off-road driving, this comes with a wealth of luxury items that easily brings this model up to date with other comparable offerings. Such as: factory air conditioning, heated seats front and rear, remote central locking, electric heated mirrors, rear factory parking sensors and privacy glass. A new eight speaker Alpine sound system with amplifier has been fitted and it sits on matching Michelin LTX tyres. Couple with the added bonus of such celebrity ownership, let alone the list of famous celebrities that this car may have transported such as Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Colin Farrell and Billy Joel to name a few this will surely be a popular example.Previously owned by Eric ClaptonDesirable 500 petrol engine

Lot 164

1987 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:50000Mercedes-Benz first introduced an SL model in 1954 following an original idea by American importer, Max Hoffman who foresaw a market for a car tailored to affluent Americans in the booming post-war United States. It has remained in production, in various guises and model years in the seven decades since then, making the SL the second longest single series ever produced by the German manufacturer. This very desirable face lift 500 SL is presented in Smoke Silver with beige leather trim and was first registered on the 5th June 1987. A low mileage example of the flagship R107 model from the latter years of production, featuring an array of modern conveniences as standard. These include cruise control, electric windows, and heated seats to name only a few. This car has had few owners since it was new, all of whom have cared for the car well utilising specialists to service and maintain the vehicle. Between 2012 and 2014 it was serviced by the country's leading SL specialist the SLHOP and recently it has been inspected and maintained by them prior to this listing. Fitted with an upgraded audio system, anti-theft system and boasting the optional rear seats. Found within the original and complete owners wallet is a service booklet with 14 stamps, and this SL is accompanied by two sets of keys. The V8 500 SL has long commanded the top of the R107 marketplace, and this example is in exceptional condition all round. We are certain that with minor investment, it could be taken to collector grade, but equally could be a fantastic drivers example for years to come especially given the leading specialists that have been commissioned to care for it.

Lot 174

1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL 'Pagoda' Transmission: automaticMileage:59035In 1963, Mercedes-Benz debuted an all-new roadster to replace the 190 SL and 300 SL - the 230 SL. The 230 SL 'Pagoda' was a stunning Paul Bracq designed two-seat convertible that followed Mercedes' new design language, featuring crisp lines and upright headlights. To save on weight, the bonnet, door-skins, boot lid, and tonneau cover were all composed of aluminium. The nickname 'Pagoda' was quickly adopted thanks to the slightly concave roof on the optional removable hardtop that resembled a pagoda roof. In 1967, Mercedes introduced the third and final iteration of the 'Pagoda', the 280 SL, and it then became apparent that some cars don't change, they just get better. The 280 featured the same modified W111 chassis with a rear swing axle and independent front suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Power came from a 2.8 litre version of Mercedes inline-six and used Bosch fuel injection. A charming model with capable handling and braking thanks to its suspension and all-wheel disc brakes. These roadsters also have one of the most beautiful bodies produced in the 1960s. Thanks to their robust inline-six and their luxurious Mercedes interior, they are wonderful cars to be driven and enjoyed. This exceptional, left hand drive, 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL 'Pagoda' was imported from the United States in 2012 as a completely rust-free example and fitted with period air conditioning. It was registered in the UK in October of the same year with an odometer reading of 55,454 miles, it was sold to the current owner a year later. He used it for a couple of years before putting the car away in storage with current mileage on the clock. The car has just had a complete, ground-up restoration by classic and custom car specialists Hot Rod Technologies based in Hayes, Middlesex. Whilst in restoration the car was brought up to European specification, this included removing the side marker lamps and fitting European style headlights. Finished in the fetching original colour blue, code number 903 with matching hardtop, new dark blue soft top roof and cream leather interior. This lovely Mercedes-Benz 'Pagoda' is supplied with a V5 registration document and photographs showing the restoration. These Pagodas are always a pleasure to drive, particularly in good weather when the roof is down and the smooth six-cylinder engine can be enjoyed.https://youtu.be/AHB4cOarPUg

Lot 182

1989 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5 16V CosworthTransmission: manualMileage:90,500In 1983, Mercedes-Benz introduced the Cosworth 2.3 16V into their range and the new cars were substantially different from the other 190 models. The body kit reduced the drag coefficient and the steering wheel was smaller than that on other 190s, whilst the fuel tank was enlarged to 70 litres. The Getrag five-speed, manual gearbox was unique to the 16 valve and featured a 'dog-leg' first gear. An enlarged 2.5 litre engine replaced the 2.3 in 1988 and offered double-row timing chains to fix the unreliable single chains on the early 2.3s. The power output was up by 17bhp with a slight increase in torque. It is debated whether the 2.5 engine was developed and built by Mercedes-Benz or by Cosworth … Interestingly, they were not keen to broadcast the fact that their most sporting saloon car had an engine developed by a British company. The suspension on the 16 valve models is very different from the standard 190 and as well as being lower and stiffer, it has larger anti-roll bars, harder bushes and hydraulic self-levelling suspension on the rear allowing the rear ride-height to remain constant even when the car is fully loaded.Presented in Smoke Silver with contrasting Black leather interior, this example features the desirable manual gearbox. Recommissioned in 2021 following a decade in storage, this Mercedes-Benz had £6,288 spent on it including a new battery, fuel distributor, clutch master / slave cylinders, spark plugs, injectors and brake calipers etc. In addition, the self-levelling rear suspension was fettled and the engine tuned. Currently showing some 90,500 miles, this impressive 190E boasts the original tool kit, spare wheel, owner’s manual, service booklet (the latter carrying sixteen stamps) and old MOT certificates from 1999-2011 in a large history file. 2005 Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Coupe Transmission: automaticMileage:3357The SLR McLaren, introduced in November 2003, was Mercedes-Benz's foray into the world of the supercar, alongside such cars as the Porsche Carrera GT and the Ferrari Enzo. It was developed in collaboration with the McLaren Technology Centre which, at the time, was partially owned by Mercedes-Benz. While Ferrari and Porsche pursued creating the best all-out supercars that the world had ever seen, Mercedes-Benz and McLaren attempted to create a car that coupled the best aspects of supercars with that of grand tourers. Engineers at Mercedes-Benz and McLaren took care to place the V8 as far back as possible in the chassis in order to improve the car's handling, giving the SLR near-perfect weight distribution. The SLR's engine produces 617bhp at 6,500rpm, thanks to a Lysholm-type twin-screw supercharger. A dash from 0-60mph took 3.8 seconds and the car leads to a quarter mile in just over 11 seconds with a top speed of 206mph. Its AMG Speedshift R transmission provides three manual modes to suit the owner's style of driving. Other remarkable technical features include the Sensotronic 'brake by wire' system, carbon-ceramic disc brakes and an automatic airbrake which can bring the SLR to a screeching halt from 120mph to a dead stop in less than 240 feet. This Mercedes-Benz SLR was manufactured in 2005 and presented in silver, typically synonymous with the Silver Arrows. This low mileage McLaren is in a condition commensurate with such few miles on the clock. The cockpit area of a SLR is a thing of beauty and to drive such a car is a memorable experience. The ultra-comfortable sports seats and luxurious interior are finished in black leather complementing the striking silver exterior. The SLR Coupé is a very versatile vehicle, comfortable to drive at 30mph, yet simply stunning to drive at high speed. The fabulous engine fires up at the press of a button on the gear lever which is reminiscent of a 'jet fighter' and drives with no known faults. Built in the UK and then shipped to the U.A.E, this SLR was then imported back to the UK in 2012 to our private owner.Recently MoT tested with a UK V5C registration document, this is truly a collectable example with circa 2,085 miles from new. Whether you are driving to your local restaurant or to the South of France, there can be few more exciting ways to travel than a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.

1987 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:20994The Mercedes-Benz R107 SL model was launched in 1971 and continued a tradition of two-door sports tourers from the world famous German manufacturer that dates back to 1954. The car featured a two-door monocoque bodyshell with independent all-round suspension. The success and popularity of the model is borne out by the 237,287 units that were produced during the cars impressive 18 year build run. This stunning example of the facelift 300 SL is presented in Ivory with beige MB Tex trim, Mercedes-Benz's extremely durable alternative to leather, and looks new. This example recently inspected by the SLSHOP was supplied new with optional extras including electric windows, rear seats, paint work protection, heat insulating glass and a contrasting dark brown hood. Boasting just three owners from new and a low mileage of just 60,000. Within the original wallet we find the owner's manual and 11 service stamps coupled with invoices throughout the 1990s and 2000s. The 300 with its 3.0 litre straight-six engine has long been seen to be the best combination of power and drivability for the R107, and this example comes with the added comfort of being inspected and maintained by the country's leading Mercedes-Benz SL specialist. A unique, low mileage example with years of enjoyment potential. A fine machine in all round excellent condition.

1981 Mercedes-Benz 380 SLC Transmission: automaticMileage:38650The R107 and C107 were built to exacting engineering standards, unsurprisingly, and with a more than subtle air of sophistication. What marks these streamlined sports cars out from the rest is the comfortable rear two seats, sublime power delivery from the larger engined models and of course, the legendary Stuttgart build-quality. These imposing pillarless coupés have now become rare and prices are rising.  This truly stunning SLC presented in a period correct blue-green metallic with full beige leather trim has been subject to a full 'nut and bolt' restoration by the foremost R107 specialists in Europe the SLSHOP. This example boasts air conditioning, sunroof, cruise control and a limited slip differential. As part of the restoration the car was stripped back to a shell to deal with any rust and corrosion issues. The bulkhead was rectified with all new metal, as were the floor pans, inner and outer sills, boot floor and front crossmember. Every small imperfection that was found along the way was seen to, with all fabrication and rust repair done by the SLSHOP's expert team in-house. Once the body was ready it was fully prepared and painted in Blue Green Metallic (877), a colour that was correct for the year having been introduced to the Mercedes-Benz range in March of 1980. The decision was then made to change the interior from the dark moody black to the much lighter beige to improve the cabin ambience, and the original Mexican hat alloy wheels complete the picture. When putting this car back together, it was done with new parts where possible, meaning the exhaust system, braking, suspension (including all bushes) and throttle linkage is all new. The interior is all new, finished in beige with every component and piece of the puzzle carefully reinstalled to create an as new R107 SLC. Sifting through bills and given the time and cost of the original car, we can give a conservative estimate that this example would have cost circa. £100,000 to re-create. A better than new SLSHOP example in truly amazing condition - possibly the best SLC in Europe.

Lot 226

1983 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Roadster Transmission: automaticMileage:37000The Mercedes-Benz SL (Sport Leicht) has been in production since 1954. This second generation evolved from the 230 SL to 250 SL, finally becoming the 280 SL. The SL improved through the years with technical innovation but still managed to keep its fundamental character and identity of an upmarket, quality sports car.  Its reputation went from strength to strength, and it was rare to see an episode of Dallas or Dynasty in the 1980s without an SL making a star appearance. The impressive soft-top mechanism which folds down out of sight under a panel ahead of the boot lid gave the car a beautifully sleek, uncluttered appearance. This beautiful early version of the iconic Mercedes-Benz R107 roadster was registered in 1983 and shows only 37,000 miles on the clock. The history file contains a fully documented service and maintenance record with works completed by Mercedes-Benz authorised dealers and recently marque specialist John Haynes. Also present is an impressive MoT test history with every certificate dating back to 1988. The current MoT test certificate is valid until June 2023. This Mercedes-Benz presents well in light ivory and a classic cream check interior and is fitted with a factory hardtop, a tracking system and fire extinguisher. Offered to auction with its original manuals and handbooks, and a V5C registration document coupled with a desirable private plate, this wonderful low mileage example should be considered a sound investment given the current prices and popularity of the model.

Lot 231

1993 Mercedes-Benz 600 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:10946Following the resounding success of the R107, the R129 Mercedes-Benz SL had a rather tough act to follow, as it still had to carry on the tradition of a fast and reliable grand touring convertible. The advantage designers had with the R129 was technology. By the time the final car rolled off the production line in 1989, these earlier models had been in production for 18 years with very little change. Therefore, the 600SL featured many new and innovative ideas, such as controlled electronic damping, automatically expanding roll-over bar and a more modern multi-link rear axle. In addition to this was a fully operating electric roof, windows, door mirrors and seats, which made this model easy and comfortable to operate. The new SL also boasted a more powerful engine and the stopping power was aided by anti-locking braking for added reassurance. The specification of these splendid cars is always excellent with electric memory seats, heated seats, air conditioning and cruise control. To be expected from such an engine, this car is very responsive to drive and effortlessly travels for mile after mile. The beauty of the 600SL is the versatility; this is a car you can pop to the shops in or use for work on a daily basis.Originally registered on 1st August 1993 this fabulous Mercedes-Benz has only covered 10,946 miles during its 29 years on British roads. Owned by the current vendor since 2018, it was previously owned within the same family (father & son). Upon purchasing this 600SL the car required some recommissioning which was carried out by a recognised marque specialist. This included the fitment of a new wiring harness (a known fault on these cars). The original service books are present, together with a collection of previous invoices for work carried out, confirming the ultra-low mileage. This Mercedes-Benz is in very original condition and even has the spare key in its original box. These fabulously stylish sportscars from Mercedes-Benz are recognised for the outstanding build quality. Supplied with a V5 registration document, together with a current MoT test certificate, the smoothness and power of the 5973cc V12 contribute towards making this an exceptional car to drive. An exceptionally rare car with exceedingly low mileage.

Lot 245

1971 Triumph Stag Transmission: manualMileage:55000Launched in 1970, the Triumph Stag was a luxury grand tourer. Envisioned as a luxury sports car, it was designed to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz SL class models. All Stags were four-seater convertible coupés. However, for structural rigidity and to meet new American rollover standards at the time, the Stag required a B-pillar 'roll bar' hoop connected to the windscreen frame by a T-bar. A new 2.5 litre V8 designed and developed by Triumph's Harry Webster was later enlarged to 2,997cc. Most Stags were fitted with a Borg Warner automatic gearbox, although manual gearboxes with overdrive were available. Electric windows, power steering and power-assisted brakes were fitted as standard. This example was first registered 5th November 1971. Presented in white with black trim, it features the desirable manual gearbox with overdrive and that unmistakable V8 growl. Owned by our vendor for the past six years, this handsome convertible has benefitted from ample care and attention during his tenure. Works completed include a new hood and frame, carpets and front seats, refurbished body work; specifically, a new wing, arches, sills and a full respray.  Described as a ”œgreat usable Stag”, with matching numbers engine, it also boasts an original 55,000 miles on the clock. Other recent upgrades include a rebuilt suspension including: all new polybush mounts, new clutch, tyres and a new replacement wooden dash. The manual with overdrive gearbox has been reconditioned, and the V8 triumph engine stripped and rebuilt, with the vendor stating that it holds good compression. The SU carburettors have also been refurbished and a new stainless-steel exhaust fitted to complement that fantastic V8 sound. Offered with a good history file, this is a well-priced example of the 70s icon.
