It was a beautifully-engineered motorcar that bristled with technical refinement and innovative safety features. When introduced in 1993, the SL320 variant featured a DOHC in-line six-cylinder engine of 220bhpIn the custodianship of a lady owner for the last 16 years, stored in a garage and serviced in current ownership, with Mercedes-Benz Macclesfield, these are just some of the highlights of the SL320 on offer. A highly optioned SL, finished in Green/Black Metallic with the complementing Cream interior, it’s been utilised as a summer car and has covered 93,900 miles from new. It appears to have always been in the Cheshire or Staffordshire area and presents as a well-maintained example with a well-stamped service book (main dealer service history, primarily, Mercedes-Benz Macclesfield having previously been carried out by the original supplier Drayton Mercedes-Benz and Portmann Mercedes-Benz of Manchester) and possesses a hardtop along with a hardtop stand. In 2021, the 320 benefitted from a new starter motor and in 2022 4x new tyres (plus a spare) and has previously been Waxoyled underneath. The current MOT has no advisories. Registration No: D232 DFA Chassis No: WDB107412A052792 MOT: July 2024Warranted 53,500 miles from newHardtop and soft-top roofs, AMG steering wheel, uprated alloy wheelsOriginal owner's manual, assorted MOTs / invoicesThe ultimate six-cylinder derivative of Mercedes-Benz's renowned R107-series, the 300SL was introduced at the September 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show. Equipped with Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel-injection, its in-line SOHC M103 2962cc engine developed some 177bhp and 188lbft of torque (outputs sufficient for a reputed 125mph top speed). Sharing the same two-door monocoque bodyshell, all-round independent coil-sprung suspension and power-assisted steering as its V8 brethren it proved notably more fuel efficient. Fitted with four-speed automatic transmission as standard, it further benefited from improved anti-corrosion treatment and ABS brakes. Only in production between 1985 and 1989, just 13,443 300SLs are thought to have been despatched worldwide.Built to order number 0665110019 during July 1986, chassis 052792 was originally destined for Malawi. Finished in Nautical Blue Metallic with Beige upholstery and a Dark Blue soft-top, the Mercedes-Benz had been re-trimmed in leather and fitted with an AMG steering wheel, five-spoke alloy wheels and chrome wheelarch lips by the time the vendor became the keeper on 4th February 1987. Kept garaged ever since, the 300SL has covered a mere 53,500 miles from new. The service book was pinched out of the car some years back but the seller tells us that the 2+2-seater has proven ‘very reliable and never required any major expenditure’. Driven a mere 1,000 miles or so over the past decade, ‘D232 DFA’ started readily and ran well collection for the auction. Offered for sale with V5C Registration Document, hardtop, original owner's manual and assorted MOTs / invoices. Registration No: NT52 VPK Chassis No: WDB2304742F023357 MOT: August 2024Just 2 former keepers and 65,500 miles from newOffered with book pack, handbook and service bookOffered with a collection of invoices and old MOT certificatesNotable as the most powerful production car ever fielded by Mercedes-Benz upon its launch in 2002, the SL55 AMG received rave reviews from the contemporary motoring press. Boasting one of the greatest engines of the 2000s, its supercharged 5.5-litre (5439cc) V8 produced some 476bhp and 700Nm of torque (the latter at just 2,650rpm). Allied to a five-speed automatic transmission, it enabled the two-seater to sprint from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 155mph. Though, AMG ‘let slip’ that a de-limited yet otherwise standard example has been clocked at 205mph! Surprisingly civilized given the performance on tap, the SL55 boasted a full suite of ‘creature comforts’. Visually enhanced via re-profiled bumpers, quad exhaust tips and 18-inch alloy wheels, demand for the newcomer soon outstripped supply. An undoubted modern classic and one of those cars which is more than a sum of its parts, the SL55 AMG enjoys something of a cult following. With just 2 former keeper and 65,500 miles from new, this SL55 AMG wears Tellurium Silver Metallic and was first registered on the 4th February 2003. Over the years it has been looked after, with plenty of receipts and invoices for thousands of pounds for work done, including servicing, brakes and the benefit of new roof seals in 2016, for Mercedes' special folding hardtop. Regarding servicing, in the service record there are Mercedes Benz dealer service stamps at the following mileage intervals: 10,248, 20,022, 29,860, 39,584 and 46,653 (including pulley V belt change) and 53,731, with a service at an independent garage at 60,864. The last service was by Mercedes Benz on June 17th, 2022 at 63,211 miles. 'NT52 VPK' is offered with the book pack, handbook and service book plus a collection of invoices, old MOT certificates, current V5C document and an MOT certificate into August 2024. Muscular yet agile, sophisticated and powered by a magnificent engine, it makes the Bentley GT look frumpy and cumbersome. If you have a loose £105,000 knocking about, there’s nothing that comes close to matching the CL63 AMG’ (CAR magazine, 5th October 2006) Launched at the 2006 Paris Salon, the C216 generation of Mercedes-Benz’s long-running S-Class Coupe was styled by Gorden Wagener and Peter Pfeiffer. An extravagant 2+2-seater intended to do battle with the Aston Martin DB9 and Bentley Continental GT, the newcomer was powered by various V8 and V12 engines with the fastest variants benefiting from the attention of the Stuttgart manufacturer’s in-house tuning division, AMG. Deemed by many to be one of the greatest, naturally aspirated V8 engines ever made, the 6208cc unit fitted to the CL63 AMG was rated at 518bhp and 465lbft of torque. Allied to seven-speed automatic transmission, it enabled the super coupe to blast from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds. The top speed was limited to 155mph (though, 200mph was reputedly possible with the relevant electronics bypassed).Featuring the fabulous 6208cc V8 engine, developing some 518bhp / 465lbft, the CL63 AMG was a true ‘super coupe’. Finished in Obsidian Black with Anthracite Nappa leather upholstery and Piano lacquer Designo Black trim inserts, this 2007 example features autonomous cruise control, Dynamics front seats, the premium sound system, and has covered 86,000 miles from new. By late 1991, under Bruno Sacco, the first design sketches were drawn, with scale models being built in the first half of 1992. Massively successful in its first year, worldwide sales hit 55,000, over double the entire nine-year production of 190 SLs and between 1996 and 2004, over 311,000 SLKs were sold. The roof design consists of a folding steel hardtop with both halves linked by a mechanism that is locked securely when the roof is closed. Finished from the factory in Lazulithe Blue metallic paintwork with complementary two-tone Galaxy Blue and Merlin Blue leather interior upholstery with Eucalyptus wood dashboard, steering wheel grips and interior finishes. It was a beautifully-engineered motorcar that bristled with technical refinement and innovative safety features. The specification included independent suspension all round, adaptive damping, ventilated disc brakes with ABS, electronic stability control, integral roll-over bar and front air bags. Registration No: A861 VUU Chassis No: WDB1070422A003521 MOT: April 2025Supplied new via Mercedes-Benz of Nicosia (Cyprus) and imported to the UK by its first owner two years laterEligible for a zero rated (free) road fund licenceEighteen main dealer and specialist service stampsResident in London for much of its life and kept garagedComes with hardtop, (barely used) soft-top and optional rear seats etcPLEASE NOTE: This lot now possess a MOT certificate valid until April 2025. The odometer has recently stopped functioning but shows some 106,000 miles and not 109,000 as catalogued.Nicknamed the 'Panzerwagen' by Mercedes-Benz's own development engineers, the R107 series was the result of an extremely thorough design process. In an attempt to avoid falling foul of threatened American safety legislation, Stuttgart produced an open car whose structural rigidity surpassed that of some contemporary saloons! Indeed, even now some fifty years after its introduction the R107 retains a reassuring air of solidity. Allied to this was sure-footed handling courtesy of all-round independent coil-sprung suspension, power-assisted steering and disc brakes. Always more of a grand tourer than an out and out sports car, the vast majority of R107s were fitted with automatic transmission. Launched in September 1974, the Eurocentric 280SL was less powerful but more fuel-efficient than its V8 brethren. Though with some 185bhp and 177lbft of torque on tap from its fuel-injected 2746cc DOHC straight-six engine, the model could still boast authoritative 120mph performance. A distinct rarity in that it has only ever been registered to two members of the same family (father and son), chassis WDB1070422A009521 was factory finished in the attractive combination of Blue-Green Metallic with Dark Blue upholstery and a Dark Brown soft-top. Nicely specified, the 280SL boasts a Behr air-conditioner, 15-inch alloy wheels, optional rear seats and electric windows / mirrors. Supplied new by Mercedes-Benz of Nicosia, Cyprus, they carried out the first of eighteen services recorded in the accompanying maintenance booklet. Imported to the UK during 1986, the 280SL has always been kept garaged to the benefit of its bodywork (the wheelarches etc are notably sound). Warranted to have covered a modest 109,000 miles (the equivalent of 2,725 per annum), ‘A861 VUU’ has recently been recommissioned following a period of dry storage and is expected to possess a fresh MOT certificate by the time of sale. Due to be driven to Buxton, this appealing and well preserved 280SL is offered for sale with V5C Registration Document, owner’s manual, service book and assorted MOTs dating back to 1988 at 30,591 miles. Registration No: YAB 30M Chassis No: LE24037UBW MOT: ExemptFitted with a new soft-top in 2018Previously benefitting from a new brake master cylinder and an anti-theft systemCurrent V5C and Stag handbookIntroduced in June 1970, the Triumph Stag was conceived as a luxury convertible sportscar to rival the likes of the R107-series Mercedes-Benz SL. Based around a two-door monocoque bodyshell (stylist Giovanni Michelotti had physically shortened a pre-production Triumph 2000 saloon in order to fashion the initial prototype), the newcomer featured all-round independent suspension (McPherson strut front / semi-trailing arm rear) and a well laid-out 2+2 cabin. With some 145bhp and 167lbft of torque on tap from its bespoke 2997cc SOHC V8 engine, the model was reputedly capable of 120mph. Despite being in production for seven years, during which time 25,877 cars were made, a mere 9,500 or so are thought to have survived.Finished in White 'YAB 30M' has been in the ownership since September 2016. Displaying some 121,000 recorded miles, in recent years the car has benefitted from a new brake master cylinder, an anti-theft system and a new soft-top in 2018. Around 2022 the car had a water trap fitted in the fuel line, due to previously having a suspected fuel supply contamination. Currently, not required but still fitted, the vendor suggests it might be better removed as it could be restricting the fuel flow and the engine can cut out. It is offered with a V5C and a Stag handbook. For more information, please contact: James McWilliam james.mcwilliam@handh.co.uk 07943 584760

Lot 33

Registration No: X926 YEX Chassis No: WDB2083482F177605 MOT: February 2025Just 14,250 miles from new and 3 former keepersOffered with original owners bookpack, handbooks and service bookFitted with aftermarket front and rear parking sensorsLarge collection of invoices and old MOT certificatesFinished in Obsidian Black with a two-tone Grey leather interiorOffered here is a low mileage CLK230 in Obsidian Black with a two-tone Grey leather interior. With a credible mileage of just 14,250 miles, the Avantgarde spec CLK230 was first registered on 1st of January of 2001 by Robinsons of Norwich, Mercedes Benz dealers and used by them as a demonstrator. It was then sold on in June 2001 to its second owner who kept it until his passing late 2021. The car then passed to the gentleman's son (the third owner). The car was acquired by its current owner on the 1st of March 2022. The second owner had the car maintained by Robinsons until the end of 2012, thereafter it was maintained by Stratton Motor Co (near Norwich) who are Aston Martin dealers.Upon acquiring the car, the fourth owner has undertaken the relatively small amount of recommissioning work needed to bring the car up to a standard commensurate with its very low mileage. There is an accompanying file of invoices and receipts together with a near complete set of MOT certificates (only 2016 is missing) all of which confirm the very low mileage. There is a full bookpack in the original Mercedes Benz folder including a service book showing 11 stamps in total. Both remote keys are present. The original dealer number plates and rear window decal are also there. Aftermarket parking sensors have been fitted. The invoices and receipts would indicate that this car has been very well cared for, if anything needed to be done it was done. This results in a well-presented example of a very well-preserved car, that still features the original front and rear foot mats and even the original first aid kit. Offered with a V5C and a collection of invoices and old MOT paperwork, it is accompanied by the original owner's wallet with the handbook and stamped service book. ‘X926 YEX’ was last serviced in February of 2024. Lot 19

Registration No: LS55 CNE Chassis No: WDB2304672F114639 MOT: August 2024A mere 34,800 miles from new (at the time of consignment)Two private owners from newUnderstood to boast all of its factory paintworkA rare notably well presented and maintained R230Introduced at the September 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show, the R230-series of Mercedes-Benz's long-running SL range remained in production for ten years. Arguably the most accomplished two-seater Grand Tourer of its generation, the newcomer offered a blend of performance, ride, handling and refinement that few, if any, rivals could match. The SL 350 boasted a 0-60mph time of 7.2 secs and top-speed of 155mph from the 3724cc V6 (241bhp/258lbft) engine.Manufactured in 2005, the SL 350 offered was supplied new to the United Kingdom, being first registered on the 31st of October that year. Finished in Iridium Silver metallic paintwork with Grey leather interior upholstery, the SL 350 was specified from new with climate control, 17-inch alloys, Sat-Nav, aluminium trim pieces, electric mirrors, and xenon headlamps. Retained in first ownership for some sixteen years, the R230 has had just two owners from new and is offered having covered a mere 34,800 warranted miles. A notably nicely presented R230, ‘LS55 CNE’ is understood to retain all of its factory paintwork.Benefitting from improvement this year including new boot struts, brake fluid change, and re-gassing of the air-conditioning, the Mercedes is supplied by a documented service history with the service book that shows six services, and further servicing and maintenance invoices accompanying. Offered with a history file that contains the original book pack with stamped service book, a collection of previous MOT certificates, a selection of invoices, a no advisory MOT certificate until August 2024, a current V5C document showing two former keepers (the first owner had the vehicle registered in a business and then private name), and copies of the previous logbooks. Notably nice, low mileage and ownership R230s are beginning to become understandably collectable, and this example would be a fine addition to any collection.
