Following the success of Gardiner Houlgate selling various other fine examples in 2016, 2017 and 2018, this early example is the next to be offered for sale - Condition Report: Movement - requires a service as not running consistently.Dial - gloss dial with typical oxidised wear and makers of a nice patination, there are two areas of the dial towards the rim at the 12/1 and very minor area to the 2 baton position where white dust marks are present, this appears to be possibly from damp/mould residue or possibly a reaction from the radium, when very lightly brushed this appears to flake away, however we have not attempted to clean or remove further, from inspection the black surface beneath appears in tact as far as we can view. Very small chip mark at the 6/7 position, small mark next to the '200' and beneath the 'S', some oxidised surface marks beneath the Oyster and an area between the 10/11 position where there is some surface oxidised wear to the lacquer - images are provided for guidance with the dial out of the case, the flaws mentioned are more highlighted in the images than is apparent to the naked eye. Glass - visible scratch marks and requires replacement. Hands - colour matching the baton markers, visible surface marks. Case - the bezel is seized and requires attention with some enamel loss and surface marks, the head lugs have some wear and marks as expected and it has been well worn, the pointed crown guards remain quite pointed, the screw back with similar surface marks and wear, bearing numerous service inscriptions. Crown - adjusting correctly. Bracelet - later as mentioned, surface marks and missing a link currently. - Condition reports are provided for general guidance only.
