The glass oval door to verso showing a barrel movement with marks for Roblin & Fils Freres A Paris. Measures 34cm tall by 56cm wide and 17cm deep.

An elegant pair of Chinese cloisonne enamel incense burners; each one with hinged gilt handles, and of ribbed oviform design with pierced domed cover decorated with formal lotus and a single bianqing (musical chime). The exterior of both burners decorated with a variety of natural history subjects, including: domestic fowl, cranes, birds and hoofed quadrupeds. The interiors with removable gilt metal liners and the bases of each also gilded. Diameters about 18cm, Qing Dynasty (2). Provenance: The Property of an English Gentleman. From a Private UK Collection, and thought to have been with the same family for about 50 or 60 years. .Please note that there are some areas of damage or deterioration to these vessels that includes: areas of enamel or metal pitting, fatigue and visible indication of verdigris or other green agent.
A Chinese silver part tea service, comprising: a teapot with hinged domed cover decorated with a narrative scene (possibly illustrating a passage from the Zhuangzhi), 14 cm high; a milk jug, 7 cm high; and a sugar bowl and domed cover, 10 cm high. Total Weight of the three items together 968 grams gross. The milk jug and sugar bowl with CS mark, presumably for Cumshing of Canton; together with a Chinese cloisonne enamel vase and cover, 16cm high (4) .Please note that there are some areas of deterioration, fatigue and wear to these pieces; this includes: heavily polished areas resulting in lost detail, areas of congealed polish and bruising or loss of patination.

Knapp was a big international artist in the 1950s/60s - represented by Hanover Gallery and remained one of their main artists throughout their existence, alongside Francis Bacon, etc. This is one of his earliest enamels. 19TH CENTURY CHINESE PORCELAIN FAMILLE ROSE ENAMEL DECORATED FISH BOWL, with cartouches of mounted and running figures engaged in a deer hunt on a Canton style floral ground with birds, the interior painted with exotic carp and water weed. Unmarked, diameter 23cm, height 18cm approx. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Some losses to the rim gilding and significant wear to the inside of the bowl. However no obvious cracks, chips or noticeable restoration.
