Approximately four small flat chips to the side of the tankard at the base alongside the footrim, the largest 1 cm. across, the others smaller and all retouched in matte brown paint. Minute area of chipping to moulded pattern on handle. Typical very minor wear to enamelled and gilded decoration.

The chip is 2.5 cm long and approximately 0.4 cm wide and appears to have been slightly ground to smooth it the chip is only very slightly visible as a very slight indent to the upper rim when the bowl is viewed in profile. There is some typical wear to the enamel of the brown line rim. Some very minor typical scratches and wear to glaze and enamels overall.

One tea bowl with small flake to green enamel of ground below one figure. The saucers with some very minor wear to the gilding around the rim and some very, very minor wear to the enamels (barely noticeable) in the wells. On one of the teabowls the gilders mark number 56. is just visible, but on the other teabowl it is not (probably removed in error by an adhesive sticker).

One saucer with very, very slight wear to the gilding at 12 o'clock on the cartouche, the other saucer with a small patch of wear to the enamel of the scene at the edge of the cartouche at 7 o'clock. One cup with 0.2 cm oval flake to turquoise ground colour on lower body of cup. The other cup with a similar flake to the ground colour at the mid-point of the body near the edge of the cartouche and with some slight flaking to the gilding around the upper rim.

The purple enamel of the overskirt has slightly misfired, giving a speckled effect in some areas. Two small chips to underside edge of base, at the back, the larger 1 cm. x 0.3 cm. Chips to leaves applied to the base.

The saucers: one with small flat chip to underside of footrim; one with two small flat chips to inside edge of footrim; one with very minor tiny chips to footrim. Overall some very minor typical wear to gilding and enamels.

The underside is heavily worn to the edges and corners. The back edge with a diagonal hairline fracture coming off each hinge. The interior of the cover with a horizontal hairline fracture to the sky. The base of the box has a fixed quilted lining so this has not been examined. The tamper with hardly visible hairline fractures to one corner of the top. The gilt mounts a little worn and tarnished consistent with age and use.
