Papier Mache Great Exhibition writing slope Papier Mache Great Exhibition writing slope circa 1851, the scenes of Crystal Palace composed of mother of pearl, gilt work and painted details, with two hinged covers and fitted out interior.37cm wide There is some shrinkage and separation to the two front joints of the sides however the box remains stable in construction. The corner of one lid is chipped. There is overall crazing with some areas which are lifting mainly to the inside. There is the odd flake and loss to the enamel, gilt and black ground colour. The lid of the pen tray on the inside lacks a finial.

French Eight-Day Gilt Brass and Champleve Mantel Clock Late 19th Century French mantel clock, 8 day Japy Freres stamped movement striking on a single bell, brocot suspension, backplate stamped 'R&C London & Paris' (Richard & Cie). Ormolu and champleve enamelled dial with black roman numerals, gilt brass case with multicoloured champleve decoration, four pillars and three cherub figures, standing on four adjustable ormolu disk feet. With pendulum and key.42cm highOrmolu cherub figures in good order and finials complete. Champleve enamel work in good condition, some scuffs, scratches and small dents to the gilt brass body. Some surface dirt and loss of gilt finish on the dial. The clock ticks but stops after around 15 minutes, it also strikes on the half hour and hour, we cannot guarantee it keeps time accurately. Striking hammer has been re-soldered and is loosely attached and sometimes rotates when striking the bell. Please view all images.

A 19th Century mahogany framed wall dial with plain brass bezel, the single fusee movement with painted dial and Roman numerals, inscribed "G C Ching Ipswich", 37.5 cm diameter CONDITION REPORTS Appears to be in working order although no guarantees. The mechanisms appears clean and tidy, the pendulum is filled and has a slip around the edge, but probably more cosmetic and than anything else. NO key. The enamel is crazing and there are some losses to it, as well as staining and discolouration through out. General wear and tear conducive to age and use, to include surface scratches etc. See images for more details.
