The offered breast star "con distintivo blanco" is a luxury example of the star to the grand cross, awarded to generals, admirals, or civilian personnel of equivalent rank. The white decoration (con distintivo blanco) was awarded for actions, deeds, or distinguished service during missions or ordinary or extraordinary service in the armed forces or in connection with defense of the country. The full-size star is made from gilded silver and is marked on the needle accordingly. The jeweler’s name is added to the reverse of the star body at 5 o'clock. The star is encrusted with sapphires instead of the normal white and blue enamel work. The alternating towers (Castile) Cap body of olive-drab tricot wool, boat-shaped, silver-aluminum mesh piping around scallop panel, three hand-embroidered gilt wire eight-pointed rank stars on brown backing for rank of Oberst, hand-applied. Orden der Heiligen Kyrill und Methodius, Kollanen-Kleinod Kleinod zur Großen Kollane, am oberen Kreuzarm eine parallel zum Kreuz angelötete Trageöse, diese gepunzt mit "FR" für Rothe, Wien, und weiteren altösterreichischen Silberpunzen, das Kleinod überhöht vom Verbindungsglied zwischen der Großen Kollane und dem Ordenskreuz - einem Seraphin.Insgesamt sehr fein ausgeführtes Kollanen-Kleinod für die Große Kollane, mit bester Emaillemalerei der beiden Brüder und apostelgleichen Heiligen Kyrill und Methodius, die Feuerstrahlen auf beiden Seiten emailliert, der Kopf des Seraphims separat eingelegt in die Engelsflügel. Die große Kollane wurde während des 35-jährigen Bestehens des Ordens nur neunmal an Bulgaren verliehen. Ausländische Inhaber waren u.a. Zar Nikolaus II. von Russland, Kaiser Wilhelm II., König von Preußen, Kaiser Franz Josef von Österreich, König von Ungarn.Provenienz: Dieses Kleinod wurde am 5. Oktober 2018 bei der Fa. Künker in ihrer Auktion 311, Losnummer 576, angeboten. Es stammt aus der Sammlung von Peter Groch. The grand collar was awarded a mere nine times to Bulgarians during the 35 years of existence of the order. Foreign wearers were, among others, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, Emperor William II, King of Prussia, Emperor Franz Josef of Austria, King of Hungary.Provenance: This badge was offered by the company Künker at its auction No. 311 on 5 October 2018 under lot No. 576. Obwohl unpunziert ist das Kleinod fertigungstechnisch und von der Emaillemalerei identisch zum Kleinod der Großen Kollane, deshalb kann mit an Sicherheit grenzender Wahrscheinlichkeit von einer Fertigung der Fa. Rothe in Wien ausgegangen werden. Orden der Heiligen Kyrill und Methodius, Bruststern Bruststern, so getragen zur Großen und Kleinen Kollane wie auch zum Ordenskreuz an der Schärpe, Silber und teilweise vergoldet und emailliert, die Vorderseite mit Paillettenverzierung, in den Winkeln der Kreuzarme golden geränderte, rot emaillierte Feuerstrahlen mit aufgelegten Lilien, diese von hinten separat angeschraubt, auf dem Mittelmedaillon der Kopf eines Seraphims, eingefasst von goldenen, rot emaillierten Flügeln, an Nadel, ohne Punzen. Mehrere Emailleschäden in den Feuerstrahlen und im Gefieder des Seraphims.Provenienz: Ex-Sammlung Professor G. A. Tammann. Versteigert am 4. bis 5. November 2008 in Basel von der UBS AG unter der Losnummer 213. Dort wird angegeben, dass dieses Stück aus dem Besitz des italienischen Außenministers Galeazzo Ciano, Conte di Cortellazzo (1903 - 1944) stammt. Ciano wurde auf Befehl Mussolinis hingerichtet.
