FINE RUSSIAN IMPERIAL SILVER GILT AND CLOISONNÈ ENAMEL CIGARETTE CASE PAVEL OVCHINNIKOV stamped maker's mark П.О., 84 zolotnik standard, the exterior richly decorated in polyhcrome with scroll and foliate designs, the gilt wash interior with dated inscription St. Petersbourg 12 March 1908, in original fitted presentation case with handwritten note Presented to me by the Directors of The Poutiloff Co. (Engineers or Shipbuilders) St. Petersburg Russia 12th March 1908 signed and further date I.X.43the cigarerette case 10.3cm wideQty: approx. 140gCondition generally good. On thorough inspection, there are some very minor hairlines to enamel, also some very minor pit marks - both aspects are only evident on more thorough inspection, and piece appears to not have really left presentation box. Push catch and spring action hinge work well. Some wear to the interior as expected with age, and elastic has perished somewhat. The presentation case has a degree of staining to interior as per age, but generally fine. Additional images including marks now available.
