A 19th century pietra dura and enamel panel brooch, the circular panel depicting a pale pink rose bud spray, to an openwork twisted frame heightened with alternating shades of red, green and blue enamel, glazed aperture verso, diameter 4.05cmCondition report: The pietra dura panel has scuffs, scratches, spotting and nicks throughout, with small fractures/seams to some of the inlaid sections. Diameter of panel approx. 3.4cm. The mount has surface wear, scuffs, nicks and patchy tarnishing, with small areas of porosity to the twisted border. The twisted border is raised at an angle to the mount on one side. The enamel decoration appears to be in mostly good condition, with scuffs and nicks/shallow chips to the enamel, but no obvious losses. The glazed panel has surface wear, and may be later replaced. The brooch pin is currently functioning. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 16.4gm.

A Victorian turquoise and diamond set pendant, the circular domed panel centred with a pavé set cluster of cabochon turquoises, with lasque-cut diamond highlight in star-shaped setting, bordered by further turquoise cabochons spaced by ropetwist wirework scrolls, glazed verso, (pendant loop later replaced), in fitted case signed W. Best, Wimpole Street, and a half pearl and enamel locket pendant, heightened with a black enamel snowflake to a turquoise blue enamel ground, (half pearl untested for origin), both pendant lengths 3.3cm (2)Condition report: First pendant: small section of wirework missing to one of the scrolls. Scuffs, scratches, nicks and surface wear throughout mount, some patchy discolouration and tarnishing. Glazed panel to aperture on reverse is loose. Turquoise cabochons have discoloured to variable greenish hues, all have scuffs and surface wear, some have chips and fractures. Diamond is greyish. Metal standard is untested but mount appears to be gold. Gross weight approx. 6.5gm. General wear and light staining to case. Second pendant: Chips and fractures to black enamel snowflake, chip to half pearl. Scuffs, nicks and occasional minor chips to blue enamel, yellowish staining to enamel on reverse. Hinge is functioning and locket closes tightly. General surface wear and patchy tarnishing to mount, dust and dirt to interior compartments, metal standard is untested and unknown. A Victorian diamond and enamel memorial ring, the tapered hoop inset with five graduated rose-cut diamonds in foiled closed-back settings, framed by black enamel decoration, gold mounted, with interior inscriptions dated 1849 and 1906, (glazed verso deficient), ring size PCondition report: Diamonds have a typically greyish/brownish appearance, with chips and surface-reaching fractures, and patchy discolouration to the foil backing. The ring mount has substantial losses and chips to the enamel decoration and surface scuffs, scratches, nicks and chips throughout. There is a fine split/seam to the back of the shank and evidence of re-sizing. The interior inscriptions have patchy wear but remain legible and read 'W. Hichens, Christmas day 1849' and 'C/G E H 1906'. The glazed panel to the compartment beneath the setting is missing. Gold standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 4.3gm.

Metal standard is untested. The pendant bale is scuffed and scratched, revealing a yellowish metal beneath, and has worn grooves to the inside from prior use. The rubies have slightly variable pinkish-red hues and have coloured foil backing. Most of the stones are heavily included with fractures, fissures, minerals, colour zoning, cloudy areas and 'silk' needle inclusions. The mount has general surface wear, scuffs and chips throughout, with losses and fractures to the enamel and heavy tarnishing. The top is missing a loop fitting that would connect the mount to the bale. The mount is unmarked and untested but likely to be silver. Gross weight approx. 8.4gm.
