A very fine early 20th century hexagonal-cased, hallmarked silver and blue-enamel six-piece dressing table set; comprising comb, two hairbrushes, two clothes brushes and a handheld circular mirror; the brushes and mirror each set with a central open wickerwork basket in relief with flower-heads studded with marcasites, assayed Birmingham 1923, maker's mark Henry Clifford Davies
Three enamelled and stone-set brooches(The cost of UK postage via Royal Mail Special Delivery for this lot will be £15 inc.VAT)Condition - being super critical and ONLY under a glass a very tiny amount of enamel is away from the elephant's tip and a very small amount of enamel is slightly away from the bottom of the bird's tail - both indistinguishable with the human eye.
An early 20th century mahogany cased and boxwood strung balloon clock; the white-enamel dial with Roman numerals above boxwood and mother-of-pearl Art Nouveau-style decoration, on spreading rectangular base with four brass bun-style feet (27cm high)The mahogany seems a little faded possibly due to sunlight around the dial area, and the front of the support; fading is prevalent to the right-hand side of the clock on the mahogany which also has a darker left-hand side looking at it from the front with a slightly mottled effect stopping at the 9 o'clock position to the side of the mahogany case; the four brass bun feet seem original, the dial looks good without any major problems. Being super-critical there is a very small bubble in the edge of the convex glass at the 2 o'clock position but this looks like an original very minor fault when the glass was made. The movement is gilded and stamped with a standing lion, testing the movement with one of our own clock keys, sadly the movement cog seems to go round and round without actually catching and therefore it is surmised that the piece it is not working and would need a service (please see images).
