This is achieved through through guiding without completely controlling the clay, allowing unexpected quirks and folds to be captured. A quiet piece, the colours and textures are highly organic, whilst the added metal bolts ground it, giving it a sense of determination and strength. Created in response to the centenary of Women’s Suffrage, the piece references the voice box and celebrates the determination of women to be heard.
