Impressive Working Model of a Royal Flying Corps SE5a Fighter Plane, the model is produced in a balsa wood with fabric covering. Engine to the interior part and wooden two bladed propeller. The wings all with wire attachments and a model of a RFC pilot to the cockpit. We believe that this model to be working, however not tested and we have no controls. Sold as seen. We are not able to offer in house post and packing on this item, personal collection only.
WW2 German Luftwaffe Cut Down Winter Combination Flight Suit (Winterfliegerkombi), brown leather flight jacket with brown wool large collar and interior. Large diagonal zip to the front of the jacket, zips to the cuffs and side pocket. Complete with the original press stud fittings marked “PRYM”. Tailored to the bottom with the removal of the leg sections and made into a flying jacket. These suits were produced for the Luftwaffe aircrew to fly over water, they were often cut down towards the later stages of the war and sometimes in the post war years.

WW2 Style German Luftwaffe Officers Tunic, four pocket early post war German air force officers tunic with original bullion flight section officers collar patches, twist cord piping to the collar to resemble the early type tunic. Evidence of where a Luftwaffe breast eagle was once present and a post war copy of a Kreta campaign cuff title added. Missing its buttons. Grey satin cloth lining to the interior.
Silver Plate Tankard of No149 Squadron Interest, the heavy plated tankard by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, with engraved centre of squadron badge for 149 squadron and “FROM TWO PIG ISLANDERS F/LT L J DRUMMOND DFC F/O G A PATRICK FEB 1943”. Remains in good condition, dark patina. Flight Lieutenant Lindsey Johnston Drummond was awarded the DFC in 1943, the recommendation for the award is as follows, “Flying Officer Lindsay Johnston DRUMMOND (N.Z.413043), Royal New Zealand Air Force, No. 149 Squadron. Distinguished Flying Medal. N.Z.405487 Flight Sergeant William Leonard HARVEY, Royal New Zealand Air Force, No. 149 Squadron. One night in February, 1943, Flying Officer Drummond and Flight Sergeant Harvey were captain and wireless operator respectively of an aircraft detailed for a mine-laying mission in an area close in to shore. During the run-in, the aircraft was subjected to considerable searchlight activity and intense opposing fire which raked the bomber from front to rear. Much damage was sustained and three of the crew were hit, including Flight Sergeant Harvey, who suffered a deep wound in the head. Despite this, Flying Officer Drummond held on his course and released his mines exactly as planned. On the return flight, Flight Sergeant Harvey, although in pain and bleeding profusely, remained at his post, continuing his duties. He obtained a number of fixes and bearings which proved of great assistance to his captain who eventually flew the badly damaged aircraft to base. Both these members of aircraft crew, who have completed many sorties, have always displayed great determination, skill and devotion to duty”. A George Alfred Patrick of No149 Squadron was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross in June 1943.

The camp opened in 1942, with the North compound for British servicemen opened in June 1943. The position of the camp was selected in an attempt to prevent escape by tunnelling. However, this camp was the location of two of the war's most famous escape attempts, portrayed in film in The Wooden Horse and The Great Escape. Officers camps, such as Stalag Luft III, were very different from those for lower level soldiers and NCO's where food and clothing were in short supply.

The car is renowned for bringing Rolls-Royce into the modern era, debuting unitary construction, disc brakes, independent rear suspension and automotive self-levellingThis 1979 Silver Shadow is an incredibly unique example that is presented in a bespoke colour scheme. The acrylic 'Brewster Green' was originally reserved for Bentleys at the time, however the owner preferred it to the Rolls-Royce equivalent and requested it for the car, with the company unusually then fulfilling this wish. The beige roof was also completely bespoke, and was designed to give the car a look similar to that of a convertible. To this day the combination of the green and beige still present very well. Inside, the tan interior is also in excellent condition, and the rear seats are completely unblemished. Throughout its life the car has been very well cared for with a Rolls-Royce specialist. There is also a very good history file with the car which includes the correspondence from when the car was ordered new, as well as colour samples. A new speedometer was also fitted at 78,809 miles on 23 January 1986, and this is all recorded in the history folder. Today the speedometer reads approximately 58,000 miles giving a rough total of 136,000 miles. He was educated at Eton College and at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst before being commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Rifle Brigade in 1891. He advanced to Captain in 1897 and served in South Africa during the Boer War. In 1901 he was appointed an extra aide-de-camp to the Earl Cadogan, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. He retired from military service in 1907. He succeeded his father in earldom in 1907 and took his seat in the House of Lords on the Liberal benches. After an appointment under H.H. Asquith he was appointed Governor of New Zealand in 1912. In 1917 the office was raised in rank to that of Governor-General of New Zealand. He retired from his post in 1920 and was appointed a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath the same year. During WWI, Liverpool conferred his name upon a New Zealand infantry regiment. The New Zealand Rifle Brigade (Earl of Liverpool's Own) which was formed in 1915 and disbanded in 1919. 2nd Earl of Liverpool died at his residence Canwick Hall in 1941 aged 73. CONDITION REPORT: The pink robe:- smells of moth balls, overall appearance good, creased, faint stains to outer and lining, the fabric appears in a fair condition with minor to little damage.The blue robe:- the silk is in poor condition, fragile and damaged, with large areas of tearing, holes and losses (see images) especially to the neck and shoulders and around the badge, the badge is in good condition.
