A mid 18th century brass lantern wall timepiece with alarm, the 13cm brass arched dial with silvered chapter ring, matted centre and silvered alarm disc, pierced blue steel hand, pierced mask head spandrels, signed to a silvered circular plaque to arch John Rogers, Leominster, the brass four post frame with pierced gallery, the top plate with recess to mount on a wall, the weight driven movement with verge escapement, alarm striking on a bell above, c.1750. A RARE BRITISH PATTERN 1855 SWORD BAYONET for the Royal Sappers and Miners Lancaster oval bore carbine, by R. & W. Aston of Birmingham, of post-1858 type with screw retained spring locking-catch, with 23 3/4in. pipe-back blade with Ordnance mark to the ricasso, the brass pommel with engraved unit marking 'V LD E1 410', in its original brass-mounted black leather scabbard with buff leather Slade-Wallace type bayonet frog.
MAUSER 7.63MM 'C96' POST-W.W.I BOLO SELF-LOADING PISTOL, serial no. 499768, 3 7/8in. barrel, rear-sight calibrated from 50 to 1,000 metres, short extractor, two-lug firing-pin, 'NS' marked hammer, and much original finish, with standard length wooden stock-holster numbered '768' and marked with Mauser banner (minor cracks). Typed letter signed, Highgrove House, 24th June 1991, to Mr Ahmed thanking him for the skilled care and attention that William received in his hospital in Great Ormond Street, 'it was a great relief to know that he was in such wonderful hands', concluding 'We only hope that being involved with a royal patient has not seriously affected your health! Thank you, once again, for everything you did to look after William', signed by both 'Charles and Diana', one page, folio, mounted with colour photos of Princess Diana in the car on the way to the hospital and beneath, Prince William shaking hands with the headmaster of Prince William's school Ludgrove, framed and glazed with the original registered post envelope to frame verso. Prince William was accidentally hit on the head by another pupil with a golf club resulting in a compressed skull fracture. Princess Diana raced to the hospital following the ambulance and at the time there was some controversy as Prince Charles left the hospital on the night of Prince William's surgery to go to the opera.
