WW2 Far East Campaign Intelligence Corps Medal, Badge and Paperwork Grouping, awarded to Leonard Charles Hope, medals consist of 1939-45 star, Burma star, Defence medal and 1939-45 War medal. Medals are swing mounted for wear. Accompanied by two far east made regimental cap badges, Intelligence Corps Old Comrades Association membership book, Burma star association membership book and post war company reference letter.
WW2 Royal Air Force Medal & Paperwork Grouping of Senior Warrant Officer Eric Bruce 205 and 240 Squadron, his medal group consists of 1939-45 star, Burma star and War medal, all housed in the original forwarding box with slip. Accompanied by a miniature set of medals with Air Force Medal (A.F.M) to the front, we can find no record of this award being issued to Eric Bruce, also a copy Battle of Britain clasp. Accompanying the medals is a large number of items of paperwork and photographs which detail his career from training in the UK and Canada and then when he is serving out in the far east. A wallet of photographs are included of WW2 British Army interest, these are possibly a relative of Bruce. Born on 21st June 1923 in South Yorkshire. He enlisted in the RAF on 22nd February 1942 and commenced service on 2nd September 1942. Originally training in the UK he was sent to North America where he gained his pilots wings. Sent back to the UK he served with 205 Squadron, part of Coastal Command. In 1945 he was transferred to the Far East with 240 Squadron. Post war he was transferred back to 205 Squadron. He was released from the RAF on 5th December 1946.
Victorian 7th Surrey Volunteer Rifles Sergeants / N.C.O’s Pouch Belt Plate 1859-80, gilt brass oval crowned plate, strap with “SEVENTH SURREY RIFLES” and silvered French Horn with 7 underneath to the centre. Three screw post fittings to the reverse of the plate. Remains in very good condition.
Rare Pre 1881 Royal Dublin City Militia (Queen’s Own Royal Regiment) Officers Helmet Plate, silvered Victorian crowned eight pointed star with laurel wreath laid upon, circlet with “QUEEN’S OWN ROYAL REGT”, black velvet centre with three silver castles. Three lug fittings to the reverse of the plate. Post 1881 regiment became the 4th Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers.
Post 1908 10th London Regiment Officers Helmet Plate, eight pointed star with Kings Crown surmounting the top point, laurel wreath overlay, garter strap with black velvet centre and silvered regimental badge of the 10th London Regiment, three part lower scroll with “TENTH LONDON HACKNEY”. Three lug fittings to the reverse.
Victorian 4th Monmouthshire (Tredegar) Rifle Volunteers Pouch Plate 1860-1864, brass plate in the form of laurel wreath with crowned circlet bearing motto “VULNERATUR NON VINCITUR” with wounded animal to the centre. Two screw post fittings to the reverse of the plate. The 4th Monmouthshire (Tredegar) Rifle Volunteers was raised and commanded by Samuel George Homfray. The motto is the family motto of the Homfray family. The company was disbanded in 1864. (Ref: K D Pickup)

Three lug fittings to the reverse. Much of the original finish remains to the plate.

Insignia is accompanied by British Army Soldiers Service and Release book for Aleksander Wojnicz with uniform photograph stuck into the front and stamped Discharged, membership card for Union of Polish War Disabled ex serviceman dated 1950 in the same name but appears to be a different person from the photograph, Polish Travel Document (Passport), Polish Ladies Certificate of Registration, piece of shrapnel and Sports medal. South African Issue WW2 Tropical Steel Combat Helmet, retaining nearly all of its original tropical textured paint finish to the exterior of the shell. Three pierced holes to the back of the shell for the fitting of a neck flap. Helmet is complete with the original liner and webbing chinstrap. Accompanied by a Canadian issue cap and a post WW2 “Turtle” pattern Mk IV steel helmet with original liner and camouflaged net. (3 items)

Brass post 1902 general service tunic buttons to the front and rear skirt. Collar retains the brass other ranks collar badges and shoulder straps have embroidered SHROPSHIRE and French horn. Standard lining to the interior with remains of inked issue stamps.
Post 1902 4th Volunteer Battalion Oxford & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry Colour Sergeants Dress Tunic, scarlet cloth tunic with buff white collar, cuffs and piping to shoulder boards. Bullion colour sergeants sleeve badge to arm, lower cuff with bullion stars and the other cuff bullion crossed rifles. White metal shoulder titles and white metal general service tunic buttons to the front and lower skirt of the reverse. Red sash remains with the tunic. Standard lining to the inside with remains of ink stamps. Overall in very good condition.

Accompanied by a German M40 pattern steel helmet with leather liner and chinstrap issued to foreign nation post WW2 period. (2 items)
Imperial German Body Armour (Sappenpanzer), 1st model type complete with the three hanging steel shields. Mixture of original and replacement pads to the reverse. The armour has sadly been re-painted post war in a camouflage paint finish which resembles that used by the Imperial German forces.
WW2 North Africa C.B.E Military Cross Group of Ten Awarded to Brigadier Brian Kingzett 64th Anti-Tank Regiment Royal Artillery, the group consists of Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, George VI Military Cross (1943 dated reverse), 1939-45 star, Africa star with 1st Army bar, Burma star, Italy star, Defence medal, War medal, General Service medal 1918-62 with S E Asia 1945-46 bar named “LT COL B KINGZETT MC RA” and 1953 Elizabeth II Coronation medal. Medals have been professionally cleaned and mounted in a glazed frame by Spink & Son Ltd. Accompanying the medals are his original court mounted ribbons and boxes for the CBE and MC. Born on 2nd May 1910 in Essex and was educated at Wellington and the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich. In 1930 he gained a commission in the Royal Artillery. He spent his first years with the regiment in India. Kingzett was the commander of 64th Anti-Tank regiment Royal Artillery with the 75th Division, First Army in North Africa. It was on Christmas Day, 1942 that he was awarded the Military Cross for Gallantry in action on Longstop Hill near Medjes el Bab, he persuaded troops from a American infantry battalion to stand firm and occupy a firing position while he got them ammunition. The citation for the Military Cross was as follows; “Capt, T/Major, A/Lt Col B Kingzett has a record in action of unfailing determination and enthusiasm. While commanding 457 Light Battery he frequently gave most valuable and balanced accounts to Division HQ of the progress of the various actions, disposing of rumours, and displaying a confidence and tactical sense remarkable at the beginning of his first campaign. His attitude under reverses was an example to all. On 25 Dec after he had assumed command of 64 A.TK Regt, He saved by personal leadership under close range fire two 6 pr guns at Longstop Hill, which he had moved up close behind infantry in the assault on that place, and were about to be over-run. He later persuaded a unit of allied troops who were retiring in the general rearward movement, to stand and occupy a covering position. These troops were without ammunition which Lt Col Kingzett proceeded to get from Medjes in borrowed transport. His regiment has improved greatly in its keenness, alertness and military outlook since Lt Col Kingzett assumed command.”He continued to command the regiment during the invasion of Sicily and the early part of the campaign on mainland Italy. In October 1943 he was wounded when his Jeep ran over a mine at the crossing of the river Biferno, Termoli on the Adriatic Coast. He was returned to England where he recovered from his wounds. He became an instructor at the School of Artillery, Larkhill. June 1945 he was appointed GSO1 RA at the Headquarters of 14th Army in Rangoon. Autumn of 1945 he took command of the 1st Indian Anti-Tank Regiment, serving with this unit in Sumatra, fighting to restore order in the former Dutch East Indies where the Indonesian nationalists were taking control of Japanese held positions and using former Allied Prisoner of War as hostages. In the post war years he served in various staff roles before being appointed the command of 33 Airborne Light Regiment Royal Artillery. Kingzett had to complete a course in Parachute training to take command of this regiment. He served with this regiment in Cyprus and the Canal Zone. Became college commander at Sandhurst 1954-55, Commander Royal Artillery 42nd Division (TA) at Preston 1959-61, it was during this time he was awarded the C.B.E. His last appointment with the British Army was as Deputy Commander British Troops Malta and Libya 1962-64.
