Carriage Print "GORLESTON-ON-SEA, NORFOLK" by F Donald Blake R.I. from the LNER Post War series. Gorleston on Sea, Norfolk, just before1954, a beachside scene easily recognisable in 2006. The piers of the river mouth are visible in the background right whilst background left is marked by the strange box-like brick structure that was the 1901 Pavilion. The painting is made from the Upper Esplanade (left) facing Pier Gardens in the near distance. The two prominent buildings at centre are the 1893 Pier Hotel and the Floral Hall (now called the Ocean Room) of 1939. Mint condition. In original style frame and glazed.

Renumbered 86251 under TOPS in May 1974, it was named in February 1980 by Jack Ready, Editor at Birmingham New Street. Swindon casting measures 80¾" x 9¾". The loco is currently stored at Long Marston.

GWR Signalbox brass Shelf Plate FROM HENGOED & MAESYCYMMER, machine engraved. The station was opened by the Rhymney Railway in 1858 and became Hengoed Low Level in 1923 under the GWR. Interesting that this shelfplate post dates the era but used the same, early nomenclature. With the various railway companies converging in this 3 station area, it is no surprise. Probably from Ystrad Mynach or Pengam Signalbox.

GWR 14" mahogany cased fusee dial clock. The GWR numberplate 1695 is fixed to the left hand side of the backbox. The case and movement date this clock to around the 1930`s period so it is quite a late GWR clock. The dial has been repainted post 1948 and shows `BR-W`. Looks to be in working condition but requires checking and some restoration. In totally ex Railway condition with the glass missing and no key.

Woodbridge is basically unchanged being a station on the East Suffolk line and the head of navigation on the River Deben. The tall building (right) was the Woodbridge Tide Mill which was functioning 1793-1957. It no longer works commercially but it has been restored and morning coffee may be enjoyed inside. Mint condition. In original style frame and glazed.
