Nameplate THE BIRMINGHAM POST. Ex BR/EE 25kv Bo-Bo Class 86 originally numbered E3183. Built by the English Electric Co under works number E3475/E321 in October 1965. Renumbered 86251 under TOPS in May 1974, it was named in February 1980 by Jack Ready, Editor at Birmingham New Street. Swindon casting measures 80¾" x 9¾". The loco is currently stored at Long Marston.
