A GOLD-LACQUER FOUR-CASE INROAfter Hara Yoyusai (1772-1845/6), Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912), early/mid-19th centuryOf upright form, decorated in gold and silver takamaki-e and kirikane with a do (chest armour) from a suit of armour resting on a pierced square stand, the reverse with a bow, umajirushi (standard), and kabuto on a stand, the suji kabuto with kuwagata dai, kuwagata with a dragon head maedate, and a moustachioed menpo, the interior nashiji, inscribed Yoyusai saku; with a manju netsuke, the black nashiji ground decorated in gold, silver, black, and red takamaki-e with animal toys including a harugoma (hobby horse), hariko no tora (bobblehead tiger), and a wheeled bird, unsigned. Netsuke von Nakamura Kuya (1881–1961)Japan, 20.Jh. Elfenbein. Signiert Kuya auf rot-schwarz marmorierter Tafel. Ein kleiner Junge sitzt auf dem Boden und zeigt auf die Inschrift, "Hi no yôjin (aufpassen auf Feuer)" auf seinem Kinchaku Beutel. Eine kleine Ojime (wohl aus Koralle) und eine Netsuke sind an der Schnur befestigt. H 2,2 cm.
