A Japanese Meiji period carved ivory netsuke of kneeling oni with pronounced spine and ribs, holding a basket on his back, scratched two character mark signature underneath, height 5.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: One foot has losses to two out of three toes on the back foot, some surface dirt and possible staining commensurate with age.
A Japanese Meiji period carved walrus tusk netsuke of a seated man smoking a pipe with a monkey, with incised and inked detail, width 5cm. CONDITION REPORT: The pipe has a split but it appears to be a natural imperfection to the tusk because there are no obvious traces of regluing, neither head nor hand. There is a major natural split leading from the back of the head to the base of the man, also similar smaller splits to the back of the monkey. One of the monkey's ears has a tiny loss to the top but it has been polished.
A late 19th century Japanese gold lacquered inroOf five sectional form decorated with a cockerel, a hen and chicks; together with a carved ivory netsuke modelled as a monkey on the back of a fish. 9.25 cm high. (2) CONDITION REPORTS: Generally in good condition, some general wear, some staining and small splits to netsuke, general wear.

A group of mixed items comprising: a large lead button; a silver Russian Orthodox cross; a bronze fitting in the form of a running dog; a Roman bronze ring with clasped hands to the bezel; a Japanese netsuke carved from a nut with the figure of three scholars; a silver ring with palmette shoulders and set with a oval black onyx stone; a silver ring set with a miniature blue glass cameo of a female. 83 grams total, 18-73mm (3/4 - 2 3/4"). Acquired on the German art market in the 1990s. [7, No Reserve] Fine condition.
