A Japanese carved and stained ivory okimono netsuke, Meiji/Taisho period, finely modelled to represent the fable Shita-kiri Suzume (the sparrow with a cut tongue), with a group of anthropomorphic sparrows pulling a cart for an elderly gentleman, incised signature and landscape view to base, length approx 4.9cm, on a carved wood stand.

A Japanese ivory shibayama type netsuke, in the form of a caparisoned elephant, carved a dragon and flowers, set pearls and coloured stones, the base with a mother of pearl signature tablet, 3.5 cm high See illustration Condition report Report by NGElephant: some cracks in netsuke, largest through elephant's left ear, this is almost finger nail depth wide. Some losses to applied beadwork decoration, and blue residue to back of elephant where some beads have been replaced. Other cracks visible around base.
Cantonese ivory sewing clamp, three chess pieces, a rectangular needle box and a Japanese netsuke. (6) Condition Report The sewing clamp is in good condition. The girl on the house is missing a sword(?) from the right hand. The other two chess pieces are in good condition. The lid of the needle box has an 8mm chip to the underside of one corner. The netsuke is in good condition.
