A good pair of Japanese bronze plaques by Ichiju, Meiji period, of rectangular form and modelled in high relief with macaque monkeys; the first naturalistically depicted seated on a rocky outcrop clutching its foot and calling, the second anthropomorphised as a collector gazing through spectacles at a monkey netsuke attached to an inro, both signed Ichiju and with artist's kakihan, mounted in hardwood frames, the first 77x45cm, the second 69x48cm.

A rare mushroom Netsuke,by or after Tanaka Minko (1735-1816), the copper brown wood meticulously delineated, the underside with gills, the broken stalk and a small specimen, signed within a rectangle, 5cmLiterature: The gills have four tiny spots, green stained in ivory.For another fungi netsuke by the same carver, see N K Davey, 'Netsuke', Sotheby's Publications, 1982, illustration number 648.
A 19th Century Japanese Meiji Period carved ivory netsuke in the form of a bearded gentleman seated by a floral decorated screen with two oni peering from behind the screen, the back decorated with a four-toed dragon, signed to base, approx 4.1 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall general wear and scuffs. One of the horns to the figure to the top of the screen is broken off and missing. Overall quite yellowed and browned and quite a lot of dirt. Some small hairline cracks to the ivory visible to the underside and the edges of the screen. Some chips to the toes of the figure to the side of the screen.
A Japanese Meiji Period carved boxwood netsuke as a lotus flower seed pod with moving seeds, approx 4.1 cm long CONDITION REPORTS General wear and tear, and dirt, including a couple of small white marks to the surface of the seed pod. At the base of the stem on the curve there is a deep scratch / possibly a shallow crack - it is difficult to tell due to its position and colour, this runs from one side through the loop, but not all the way around.
