A late 19th Century Japanese Meiji Period carved ivory netsuke in the form of a family of rats, the adult eating seeds, signed to base, 2.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Some light general wear and some dirt. The rat with his paws to his mouth has one applied black eye missing which has been coloured in with paint. The baby rat seated by the seed pod has his outer black applied eye missing, and coloured in with paint. The baby rat standing standing upon the tail also has one of its applied black eyes missing, and coloured in with paint.
A late 19th Century Japanese Meiji Period carved netsuke as a rat, signed to base, approx 3.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall some light general wear and minor scuffs, and a couple of small marks to his back - possibly a scuff or maybe some paint deposits, but otherwise appears in good condition.
A 19th Century Japanese Meiji Period boxwood and carved ivory netsuke in the form of two figures in dragon costume, the dragon with articulated mouth opening to reveal one of the figure's faces, together with a further netsuke in the form of a hare in crouching pose joined to a dog looking skyward, signed to base, 3.7 cm high and 3.1 cm high respectively CONDITION REPORTS The figures in dragon costume - one foot is missing, general wear and scuffs, small repairs to the hinges to the mouth of the dragon, a few scuffs and minor nicks. The dog and hare - some yellowing, browning and discolouration, some dirt and some wear and scuffs, and some small hairline cracks / inclusions.

Some dirt and scuffs. A few hairline cracks / inclusions. The right side of the animal mask has been fillered and repaired.
A Japanese Meiji Period carved boxwood netsuke as a lotus flower seed pod with moving seeds, approx 4.1 cm long CONDITION REPORTS General wear and tear, and dirt, including a couple of small white marks to the surface of the seed pod. At the base of the stem on the curve there is a deep scratch / possibly a shallow crack - it is difficult to tell due to its position and colour, this runs from one side through the loop, but not all the way around. A 19th Century Japanese Meiji Period carved ivory netsuke in the form of a bearded gentleman seated by a floral decorated screen with two oni peering from behind the screen, the back decorated with a four-toed dragon, signed to base, approx 4.1 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall general wear and scuffs. One of the horns to the figure to the top of the screen is broken off and missing. Overall quite yellowed and browned and quite a lot of dirt. Some small hairline cracks to the ivory visible to the underside and the edges of the screen. Some chips to the toes of the figure to the side of the screen.
Japanese lacquered inro with ojime and netsuke, 19th century, the inro of five sections decorated on the dark ground with foliage in gilt and red speckles and abalone shell, height 8cm, together with a red ivory ojime and ivory kagamibuta netsuke, the patinated disc applied with trailing foliage (losses), diameter 38mm, Condition report: the inro is missing some flakes of gold speckling and has some signs of abrasion from use; the copper disc in the netsuke has a vacant hole and is missing a spray of foliage. Gross weight 57.4g.
