A Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) or early Taisho (1912 - 1926) ivory netsuke in the form of an alert rabbit, with delicate folding ears, beaded eyes and textured fur, well carved rabbits paws and artists' signature to base, 6.5cm x 2.5cm, together with another ever more intricate example of a rabbit standing on two feet, the artist's signature beside it's tail (2)
Four Japanese ivory netsukes, Meiji/Taisho, carved as an emaciated snarling man, partially dressed in loose robes, a Shojo dancer in long robes, Shoki the demon queller and a female emerging from the side of a conch shell, 6.3cm - 11.2cm highCondition report: Shojo dancer has a 7cm long closed and stained line at the rear, but is otherwise free from any obvious faults. The tall emaciated figure has probably had a small section filed down in the knot of his hair (see circled image), but is otherwise free from any further obvious faults, unusual staining throughout with some light patches. Shoki has been stained red, some of which still remains, no obvious faults though. The shell with lady netsuke has no manmade issues but does has a small dark indent on the rear and fine and small lines on the top and base, otherwise no obvious issues.
Four Japanese ivory netsuke, Meiji/Taisho, comprising a stained smiling figure holding a scroll, signed, a grinning figure holding a large ladle, a bemused looking European holding a lap dog, his tunic buttons of black horn, and a Kappa looking over its shoulder, sat upon a clam shell, signed, 3.8cm - 7.3cm highCondition report: The Kappa with very fine but closed lines on its back, otherwise in good condition. The European figure is in good condition with no obvious faults. The figure with the scroll has fine closed lines throughout, but these do not appear to be detrimental. The figure with the ladle has a fine but closed line down his lefthand side, a small chip in the top of the ladle rim, otherwise in good condition.

No age cracks, signs of repair or restoration visible.
Two Japanese ivory and a bone carving of Shishi, Meiji period, comprising a netsuke the Shishi looking over its shoulder whilst resting upon a ball, an okimono, the beast with inset black horn eyes, resting upon a rock, signed, and a small okimono, the Shishi resting its paw upon a ball, 2.1cm - 3.8cm highCondition report: It has been suggested that the base on the large carved bone shishi is a later ivory addition. All in good order with no obvious faults.
