Fine early Victorian emerald and gold demi-parure, the suite of jewellery comprising a necklace, pendant / brooch and a pair of earrings - the detachable pendant / brooch with a principle mixed cut emerald estimated to weigh approximately 3.72 carats, surrounded by ten further step cut and mixed cut emeralds within a floral design of repoussé rococo scrolls, on a textured gold ground, the pendant with a further detachable drop, similarly set with three emeralds, the principle oval mixed cut emerald measuring approximately 8.8mm x 10.6mm, suspended from a necklace with central openwork floral repoussé panel, with three flower heads set with emeralds and a series of similar panels alternating with panels on textured gold ground. The pair of earrings similarly set each with a central principle step cut emerald measuring approximately 8.5mm x 7.0mm and 9.0mm x 6.6mm, with two further emeralds and suspended from a detachable flower-head loop fitting. All in a later fitted box, retailed by 'Resners', Antique Jewellers, 124 New Bond Street, London, W1 CONDITION REPORT The pendant / brooch - in good original condition commensurate with age. It has two tiny loops at the back, possibly to allow an extra detachable drop. Measures approximately 73mm x 50mm. Weighs approximately 23.5 grams gross. The earrings - both in good original condition commensurate with age. Measures approximately 58mm overall drop x 30mm wide. Weighs approximately 16.9 grams gross. The necklace - in good original condition commensurate with age. Evidence of slight alterations at the back. Solder and discolouration suggesting that there have been alterations, possibly the necklace may originally have been able to be adapted to be worn as either a necklace or a pair of bracelets. The pendant / brooch connects to the necklace with clasp fittings. Panels have minor dents and holes in the repoussé decoration commensurate with age. Approximately 380mm overall length. Weighs approximately 37.9 grams gross
Fine mid-Victorian emerald, diamond and pearl pendant / brooch, the central step cut emerald estimated to weigh approximately 2.8 carats, within a rectangular border of gold beads and four pearls, flanked by an old cut cushion-shape diamond to each side, estimated to weigh approximately 0.64 carats and 0.60 carats, in a silver collet setting, the gold open-work frame with interlocking gold and silver scrolls and two further half pearls, the reverse with brooch fitting and a bevelled glazed compartment, 47mm x 34mm CONDITION REPORT Excellent original condition, gold baile looks later and the brooch fitting may also have been added later or replaced. Gross weight approximately 14.2 grams
