The emerald may have been treated to enhance colour and clarity, approx size of emerald 15.1mm x 11.5mm, depth hard to tell because of nature of setting, would suggest approx 7mm. Setting to emerald is not marked and has not been tested by us, but is offered as gold. Length of chain 48.5cm, general surface scratching consistent with age and wear especially to hinged bale.

Additional InformationThe head is approx. 17.6 x 11.8mm, the emerald has light surface abrasions as you would expect and also natural inclusions to the stone. The diamonds are facing up nicely and are well matched. No stones are missing. The setting itself is in good order and the ring is unmarked.

An Indian or Persian silver gilt and jewelled snuff box, 19th century, impressed marks to base and cover, in the form of a miniature casket, the lid with applied filigree panel set with a central emerald, pink topaz and sapphires, the foliate border with cabochon sapphire thumbpiece, the outset base with foliate decoration on a matted ground, 2½ x 1 7/8in. (6.3 x 4.75cm.), 7/8in. (2.25cm.) high. * Some wear to gilt to underside and edges. Small area of wear to rubover mount to one sapphire. Slight wear to facets on emerald. Lid opens and closes securely. Otherwise good overall, with no other faults.
