A diamond and emerald three stone ring, designed as a central square cut emerald (measuring approx 7.5mm x 8mm), within four claw setting and flanked by an old brilliant cut diamond to either side, each millegrain collet set in white metal stamped 'PLAT', size L, gross weight 6.55gms CONDITION REPORT: Central emerald quite included, the two diamonds either side also have inclusions within them visible to the naked eye and one of the stones has two large naturals or chips to the girdle. The vendor had this ring made relatively recently from an older piece of jewellery. Sizes - diamonds are (very) approximately 0.55ct and 0.60ct but it is difficult to gauge an accurate size because they are both collet set. The emerald measures 7.92mm x 7.57mm x 4.35 deep.

A ruby, emerald and diamond lover's ring, the offset millegrain edged pearshaped emerald and ruby surrounded by pavé set rose cut diamonds and topped with a rose cut diamond set bow, to a tapering shank, size P½, unhallmarked but stamped '18ct' Other Notes: The design of two hearts with a bow motif, which symbolises intertwined love, was very popular with young couples in the late Victorian period. This ring is charming, but shows considerable wear and tear around the setting of the stones, and possible repairs. The diamonds are not high quality or very well matched, and some have chips - but there are none missing - the two gaps at the top are the loops of the bow surmount.The ruby has inclusions appropriate to a natural origin, fluoresces bright carmine (as it should) under UV light, and is a lovely colour. The emerald is - for an emerald - remarkably clean, though has some inclusions, and there is no obvious evidence to show anything but a natural origin; the cut is quite geometric and the stone is slightly small for the setting, so it is possible that this is a replacement stone. The shank has been discretely enlarged, but is in good sound condition.

The emerald measures 6.41 x 6.15 x 3.02mmThe trilliant cut diamonds make an excellent foil, and are lively stones; assessed (with difficulty due to the setting) as approximately I/J colour, and VS clarity. They measure approximately 5.4mm along the sides abutting the emerald, and 2.8mm from the centre of that line to the outer point.The line of little rose cut diamonds is there for the design accent not for the quality of the diamonds.The claws are all secure, the setting without undue wear, though the shank appears to have been resized - there is a blob of gold solder on the inside, and it is possible that the length with the stamp on is not original; and there are two more solder lines closer to the front, at least one of which has 14ct solder; however the shank tests for 18ct gold.The ring size is M - or in the US 6½, in Europe 53
