16th century AD. A gold openwork globe consisting of eight roundels with across pattern, each with filigree granulation work; between roundels further filigree granulation and diamond-shaped settings with three garnets and an emerald. 7.30 grams, 21mm (3/4"). From an important private London collection; formed in the 1970s and 1980s. Very fine condition.
10th century AD. A gold pendant formed as a piriform plaque with beaded detailing to both faces, granulation to the rim, integral loop with knop above; to one face an inset spinel cabochon and a similar emerald(?"). to the reverse; five loops to the lower edge each with two wire dangles, pearl and green glass(?"). beads. 3.87 grams, 31mm (1 1/4"). 9th-11th century AD. A substantial flat-section gold cross with expanding arms, border of punched points extending to the separate loop with two rivets securing, cross of punchmarks, each a triangle with a pellet in each angle; similar punchmarks to the face and arms, and to the reverse; five inset cabochon precious and semi-precious stones including two rubies, one sapphire, one emerald, and one turquoise, each with a filigree collar, set in from the reverse and held by a separate riveted gold plaque. 46 grams, 84mm (3 1/2"). From an old German collection, formed in the 1990s. Supplied with a positive X-Ray Fluorescence metal analysis certificate. Accompanied by an Art Loss Register certificate. Very fine condition, usage wear.

The emerald accompanied by a Gemstone Identification Certificate, no. ID16062460M, stating it to be Slightly Bluish Green colour. (2)
