A Victorian unmarked yellow metal scroll decorated brooch centred with three emerald cut emeralds, each flanked by two old mine cut diamonds and set with two further pear shaped emeralds, suspending two yellow metal tassels, length including tassels 7cm. CONDITION REPORT: Two of the scrolls (bottom left and right) have been bent and subsequently started to split at the edges. Some slight inclusions to the stones. Weight approx 16g.

St. Helena : (SG 34ba) 1884 QV Crown CA ½d on 6d emerald with part original gum showing DOUBLE SURCHARGE - ONE WITH N Y SPACED - extremely rare with probably only two examples known - complete with 1975 BPA cert stating it to be genuine but not recognising the NY variety and unkindly describing it as 'soiled' whereas this adhesive is of very good to fine appearance, of fine colour and well centred for this issue. Upon the reverse we note trivial imperfections, small blue manuscript (not affecting appearance), partial hinge remnant and light pencil / gum bend. Possibly unique mint part o.g. A 1940s Cartier gold and silvery coloured metal mounted garnet, diamond and emerald set "Wren" pattern brooch, the bird's body set with an oval cut garnet to the diamond set head and emerald set eye, with small rose cut diamonds to the branch leaves, 30mm x 28mm overall (gross weight 4.8 grammes), inscribed to reverse "Cartier, London, No. 118409) Provenance : This was the property of Miss Ann Haldin of Lympne Place, Hythe, Kent,who was the youngest woman to become a 2nd officer in the WRNS in the Second World War, and who was also the youngest woman to be awarded an MBE (Military) after the war. It is believed the work of Dennis Gardner who worked at Cartier from the 1940's and retired in 1992
