Two cultured pearl necklaces with diamond set clasps, the first comprising of cultured pearls between approx. 4 - 5.5mm, with marquise shaped clasp set with a central square cut emerald and small rose cut diamonds, with safety catch, 46cm long, the second comprising of cultured pearls between approx. 4.4 - 1.5mm, with a white and yellow metal clasp set with three rose cut diamonds, with safety catch, 42cm long, with a small group of loose cultured pearls, (2)
19th century AD. A gold pendant of a bird with wings extended and suspension loops to the pinions; inset cabochon rubies to the head, body and wings, ruby beak, band of inset emerald cabochons to the wings, crystal panel to the chest, pearl breloques to the wings and tail with irregular emerald breloques. 38 grams, 52mm (2"). From the family collection of a Hampstead gentleman; formerly acquired in the 1980s, supplied with geologic report No. TL005181, by geologic consultant Dr R. L. Bonewitz. Dr Bonewitz notes: 'This is a classic piece from the period, with about an ounce of gold and a good number of fine gemstones.' Very fine condition.
19th century AD. A large square emerald with panel of calligraphic prayer text surrounded by faceted edges with more text, in a silver cell, openwork to the reverse, ribbed suspension loop; the text translated as 'There is no god but Allah, the living and the self-subsisting and eternal. No sleep nor slumber can seize him. His are all things in heaven and on earth. Who is there who can intercede with him in his presence? He knows what appears to his creations, before or after or behind them, nor shall they compass out of his knowledge except as he wills it. His throne extends over the heavens and the earth and he feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them, for he is the most high, the supreme in glory.' 72 grams, 50mm (2"). A string of Roman green and gold sandwich glass beads. The beads believed to be of Roman origin having twin and single round gold sandwich glass beads and long brownish red and emerald green glass beads being highly included. The beads being strung together on a modern silk strand. Measures 31inches total. Weight approx 56.8g.
