1934 Talbot AV95/105 Alpine ReplicaRegistration no. BGH 664Chassis no. 38036Odometer Reading: 52,000MoT Expiry: Exempt After avid Brooklands entrant and St Albans garagiste W. M. (Mike) Couper had taken part in the 1933 Alpine Trial in his Talbot AW90 he suggested that the factory enter a team of three cars for the 1934 event '... to prove that the AV105 with its 3-litre Roesch-designed engine was still better than anything else in the world... which the public might tend to forget after two years' absence from competition.'No rival manufacturer - including Bentley - could yet approach the Talbot's power output per litre. The Talbot engine was also more robust than those offered by Bentley and Lagonda while the recently-adopted pre-selector gearbox was a significant advantage on Alpine roads. Three new works AV105 'Alpine Racer' Team Talbots were built in the spring of 1934; BGH 21 was allocated to Tom and Elsie ('Bill') Wisdom, BGH 22 to Hugh Eaton and BGH 23 to Mike Couper. All three of Couper's team Talbot 105s finished the gruelling 1934 Alpine Trial in excellent shape and the Talbot and Adler teams were finally judged equal winners of Group II, both teams winning coveted Alpine Cups. Talbot's record of seven official entries in three separate Alpine Trials with not a single mark lost by any car, and the highest possible award won in each event, was unprecedented. After a total of 3,600 miles, Wisdom said '...fuel consumption had averaged 18 mpg and oil 1,700 mpg'. Minimal maintenance was needed en route and '... no car in the world could have given less trouble or performed better ...'. Several successful Brooklands seasons followed - the most significant era in Talbot history.BGH 664 was built in Talbot's Barlby Road factory in March 1934 as AV95 chassis no. 38036 with a 10' wheelbase and delivered un-bodied to Messrs Tozer Kemsley and Millbourn on 23rd April 1934. It is thought that the chassis was exported in this form to Australia and bodied there. After WW2 the car found its way to South Africa and into the well-known Talbot collection of Bryan Smith, who at the time also owned the original 1934 Alpine Team car, BGH 21, purchased by the Wisdoms after the Alpine Trial event. After Smith's death his vehicle collection, including a number of Talbots in various states of repair, was returned to the UK.Around this time, BGH 664's chassis, otherwise identical to that of an AV105, was shortened by 6' to the correct 9'6' wheelbase and re-bodied as an 'Alpine Racer', using dimensions taken from an original car. At some juncture engine no. BA697 from 1935 was fitted, along with an overhauled pre-selector gearbox.More recently, BGH 664 has been comprehensively mechanically restored for the current owner by marque specialist I.S. Polson (bills on file) with half an eye on the Flying Scotsman and other great events. Work included the fitment of a freshly overhauled and well-known engine no. 95AV95 (as installed in BGH 22 for most of the '70's through to the '90's). The car is now running well and is suitable for use and enjoyment as is, or could be further developed within VSCC regulations.Inspected for conformity by the DVLA in July 2015, the car is correctly described on its V5 registration document; it is also believed eligible for a VSCC Buff Form. A package of spares comprising the previously fitted engine block, a Dynastart and a Zenith carburettor may be available by separate arrangementTo view a YouTube walkaround of this lot please click here To Schedule a video condition report for this lot please click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 75/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1927 Bentley 3-Litre Speed Model Sports Roadster Registration no. JO 377Chassis no. TN1559*Originally a Weymann saloon by Gurney Nutting*Substantially known ownership history*Present ownership since 1998*Recent extensive professional refurbishmentWith characteristic humility 'W O' was constantly amazed by the enthusiasm of later generations for the products of Bentley Motors Limited, and it is testimony to the soundness of his engineering design skills that so many of his products have survived. From the humblest of beginnings in a mews garage off Baker Street, London in 1919 the Bentley rapidly achieved fame as an exciting fast touring car, well able to compete with the best of European and American sports cars in the tough world of motor sport in the 1920s. Bentley's domination at Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929 and 1930 is legendary, and one can only admire the Herculean efforts of such giants as Woolf Barnato, Jack Dunfee, Tim Birkin and Sammy Davis, consistently wrestling the British Racing Green sports cars to victory. W O Bentley proudly unveiled the new 3-litre car bearing his name on Stand 126 at the 1919 Olympia Motor Exhibition, the prototype engine having fired up for the first time just a few weeks earlier. Bentley's four-cylinder 'fixed head' engine incorporated a single overhead camshaft, four-valves per cylinder and a bore/stroke of 80x149mm. Twin ML magnetos provided the ignition and power was transmitted via a four-speed gearbox with right-hand change. The pressed-steel chassis started off with a wheelbase of 9' 9½' then adopted dimensions of 10' 10' ('Standard Long') in 1923, the shorter frame being reserved for the TT Replica and subsequent Speed Model. Rear wheel brakes only were employed up to 1924 when four-wheel Perrot-type brakes were introduced. In only mildly developed form, this was the model that was to become a legend in motor racing history and which, with its leather-strapped bonnet, classical radiator design and British Racing Green livery, has become the archetypal Vintage sports car. Early success in the 1922 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, when Bentleys finished second, fourth, and fifth to take the Team Prize, led to the introduction of the TT Replica (later known as the Speed Model) on the existing 9' 9½' wheelbase, short standard chassis. Identified by the Red Label on its radiator, the Speed Model differed by having twin SU 'sloper' carburettors, a higher compression ratio, different camshaft and the close-ratio A-type gearbox, the latter being standard equipment prior to 1927 when the C-type 'box was adopted. These engine changes increased maximum power from the standard 70 to 80bhp and raised top speed to an impressive 90mph. Other enhancements included the larger (11-gallon) fuel tank and (usually) André Hartford shock absorbers. Bentley made approximately 1,600 3-Litre models, the majority of which was bodied by Vanden Plas with either open tourer or saloon coachwork.According to leading marque authority Dr Clare Hay's definitive work, Bentley: The Vintage Years, chassis number 'TN1559' was completed in January 1927 and left the factory fitted with engine number '1566'. Originally bodied by Gurney Nutting as a Weymann-type saloon and first registered 'YE 1140', the Bentley was first owned by Captain W G Horne. The rest of its history prior to WW2 is uncertain, but at the war's end the car was purchased from Roy's in Kenilworth by a Mr Lloyd, who owned a metalworking business in nearby Leamington Spa. It was claimed that the owner previous to Mr Lloyd had been one of the late Sir Henry Segrave's mechanics and that he intended to race the car. He had removed the original saloon body, which was not included in the sale. Very nicely done, the current lightweight two-seater body dates from the immediately post-war period and was built by the car's then owner. In the ensuing years the Bentley passed into the ownership of Tony Judd, who raced it, destroying the original engine when it threw a rod. The engine was replaced with the current unit (number '343') which dates from 1923. Tony sold the Bentley through Stanley Mann Racing to Mr David Jenkins. David Jenkins lived near Cardiff and enjoyed owning the car for around four years. He also owned a Tiger Moth, which he flew from Rhys airfield, and lost his life as the result of a flying accident. During his ownership David Jenkins twice drove the Bentley to Le Mans with his wife to witness the 24-hour race. The current vendor bought the car, via a broker, from his widow in May 1998.During the vendor's early ownership he too drove the Bentley to Le Mans to watch the 24-hour race (in 2000 and 2001) and also drove it to Bruges, Belgium on a private tour with a group of 12 Bentleys. At the lunch stop, Jimmy Medcalf stated that the car had been travelling at a respectable 70-75mph on the motorway, while his brother Bill Medcalf, another Bentley Drivers' Club stalwart, remarked on how pretty it is. The only major mechanical work carried out concerns the crankshaft bearings, which have been re-white-metalled by renowned engineer, Arthur Archer of Great Dunmow. The body and chassis, though, have recently undergone extensive renovation by SJD Classic Restorations (Steve Downs) of Southminster, Essex. SJD disassembled the entire car, removing all bodywork from the chassis and stripping it of all mechanical components. The chassis and axle assemblies were then sand-blasted, prepared, primed and repainted. The aluminium body panels were removed from the timber frame and any rotten elements replaced. All bodywork was stripped back to bare metal and any damaged or corroded sections cut out and replaced with new aluminium. All panelling edges were replaced and the body tub skin refitted to the repaired frame. The wings, bonnet and scuttle were similarly repaired with new metal, as were the dickey seat lids, following which all bodywork was prepared, primed and repainted prior to refitting to the chassis. Other works carried out included repairing the wiring loom; fitting new shock absorbers and wheels; and re-plating the nickel brightwork, repairing it as necessary. Dated October 2019, SJD's invoice for £43,602 is on file. According to the vendor: 'The car has bags and bags of charisma and is a great joy to drive. It goes fast thanks to the lightweight body and stops quickly as well! In its current condition it has been described as 'resplendent''. 'TN1559' has also featured in four editions of the BDC Review (details available). A wonderful opportunity to acquire a unique 'W O' Speed Model Bentley, benefiting from recent extensive professional refurbishment.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 75/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Property from a Deceased Estate1938 Bentley 4 ¼-litreCoachwork by Freestone & WebbRegistration no. CTF 148Chassis no. B66LSMileage: TBAMoT: Exempt *Previously owned by collector Gordon Wiley*Attractive colour combination*Interesting earlier correspondence Featuring Freestone and Webb razor-edge 'brougham' sports saloon bodywork with single sidemount, this 4 ½-litre has been restored in the past and was running when it was put into storage. Sold new to Lancashire resident Herman Rawlinson it was in the hands of Douglas Hall in May 1952 (as detailed by the 1953-issued continuation logbook), followed by Stafford dealer Charles Clark & Son and, in October 1957, was in the hands of William Crump, before moving to Nottinghamshire and Clement Oscar Day. Bentley specialist Ristes carried out an extensive restoration in the late 1970s and it was bought by Gordon Wiley in 1996. In addition to the continuation logbook Ristes' invoices covering the period 1978 to 1980 detail the work carried out. Today the black over red bodywork effects a delightful art deco air and the patinated maroon interior is believed to be the original. Some re-commissioning will be required. With unusual, attractive Freestone and Webb 'brougham' sports saloon coachwork this 4 ¼-litre will require some light re-commissioning. Property from a deceased estate.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 63/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Property from a Deceased Estate1937 Cord 812 Supercharged Westchester SedanRegistration no. YSU 476Chassis no. 31841AOdometer Reading: TBAMoT Expiry: Exempt *A ground-breaking design*Seldom offered in sedan form*Good history The Cord 810 (and its supercharged 812 sibling) remains one of the 1930s most important car designs, binning much of what had gone before and while not entirely starting with a clean sheet, like the same-period Chrysler Airflow re-visited the way a car should look and perform. While not as revolutionary as the Citroen DS would be at its launch two decades later, the Cord's bought-in Lycoming V8 drove the front wheels while designer Gordon Buehrig's design offered ultra-clean lines with retractable headlights and a lack of running boards. By the 1950s American enthusiasts saw the Cord as a classic, a status it still holds today. Imported in 1990 this supercharged Cord 812 was restored 10 years ago (bills on file) with work that included stripping the bodywork, repairing and fabricating panels where required and re-building the engine, whose work alone came to more than £17,000. Other work included re-building the engine and tasks such as grinding and polishing crankshaft big ends – bills detailing the work are on file. An opportunity to buy a comprehensively-restored example of this seldom-seen, ground-breaking American model. Property from a deceased estate. Offered in delightful older restored condition, running and driving really well this is an opportunity not to be missed. 1931 Rolls-Royce Phantom II 40/50HP SaloonCoachwork by H.J. Mulliner Registration no. GP 2446Chassis no. 49GXOdometer Reading: TBAMoT Expiry: Exempt *Rakish Mulliner bodywork*Interesting period correspondence*Engine runs but believed to have big end fault Arguably one of the most significant of pre-war Rolls-Royce models, the Phantom II Continental' engine featured raised compression for a greater power delivery, that equating to around 90mph for models with closed bodywork. Popularity was assured and it sold across the world, coachwork of all forms being supplied by numerous companies. This 40/50 Phantom II Continental is fitted with H.J. Mulliner sports saloon bodywork in black with vinyl roof and sunroof, with two spare wheels mounted at the back. First owner Sir W.H. Peat, C.B.E. kept the car until 1959 and a year later the engine and gearbox were overhauled: in 1962 the coachwork was overhauled and in 1965 it was awarded the 'most elegant car of all' award at the 1965 Rolls-Royce and Bentley Concours d'Elegance, held at Blenheim Palace. After some time in Switzerland it was bought by the late owner from Charles Howard in 1998. The tan interior is believed to be original. The engine does run but a suspected big end has picked-up. With its appealing, rakish looks this Phantom II Continental comes with early correspondence and presents well, but requires some re-commissioning. Property from a deceased estate.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 68/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1930 Buick TourerRegistration no. CB 9820Chassis no. 2437515Odometer Reading: 97,645MoT Expiry: Exempt *Same family's ownership for 27 years*Imported from Hershey in 1993*Engine running reported to be very good From the 1920s onwards, larger American cars were designed to cross the USA with the minimum of fuss, their larger-displacement engines making light of long distances and inclines, their high ground clearance shrugging off less sophisticated road surfaces. This 1930 Buick Tourer is an example from that period, and it comes to the sale with vendor-rated very good body and glass, the maroon paintwork being between good and very good order, the vendor says. The interior, which features cream-coloured seating, is according to our vendor generally good to very good. Power comes from a 5.4-litre engine, which is reported to be very good for starting and running and good for presentation: running gear, including clutch, brake, steering and suspension is said to be very good and the electrical system good. Some history comes with this lot. Acquired by the family from Hershey, USA, this Buick Tourer comes from long-term ownership and presents well. Rebodied in England shortly after import and is now a practical relaxed touring car ideal VSCC events.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 69/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1946 Morris 8-Series ERegistration no. HXN 662Chassis no. 74805Odometer Reading: 47,700MoT Expiry: n/a *Older restoration*Replacement engine believed to be a Gold Seal unit*Affordable small sized-ration book-era saloon The Series E offered post-war motorists with a restricted budget the opportunity to buy a small, well-built family saloon and today its ethos makes equal sense in the classic world. This example has average black body and paintwork, the latter requiring improvement and the tan leather interior has the original seats (said to be in average condition), dashboard and carpets being in the same order. Headlining was replaced during the previous restoration and is said to be good. The engine, believed to be a Gold Seal unit, is reported to be good for starting, very good for running and good for presentation (the vendor reports it sounds and runs sweetly) and has the underbonnet tool kit: the running gear is generally good. Electrical main components and ancillaries are said to be average and the original semaphore signals have been replaced by bumper-mounted indicators. 1961 Jaguar Mk 2 3.8-Litre Sports SaloonRegistration no. LFF 810Chassis no. 205245DNOdometer Reading: TBAMoT Expiry: Exempt*The Jaguar MkII in its ultimate specification*Present ownership since 2007*Engine rebuilt in 2011/2012*Running gear overhauled in 2014*Body restoration and re-spray 2016*Extensively campaigned and well maintainedRepresenting Jaguar's perennially popular Mk2 saloon in its ultimate 3.8-litre manual/overdrive specification, chassis number '205245DN' was delivered to Greenhill Motors via Henlys of London, and originally was finished in Opalescent Silver Grey with a red interior. The car's first owner was Robert Day Film Production Ltd of London SW14.In December 1976, the car passed into the ownership of Cyril Humphries of Essex and by this time had been repainted Carmen Red. The Jaguar had three further owners, all in Essex, and in January 1996 was inspected by Cartwrights, being described as in first class condition, only requiring a handful of minor works to bring it to concours standard. It was then sold to Bespokes Classic Car Hire Ltd of Watford. In May 2001 a replacement engine (number 'ZA2643-8') was sourced from VSE and fitted, and in October 2004 the car was acquired from West Barn Classic Ltd by the Classic Car Club of London N1. The current vendor bought 'LFF 810' from Epping Motor Company in February 2007.Since then the Jaguar has been extensively campaigned and enjoyed, as detailed in the vendor's fascinating personal log of all activities, maintenance work, expenditure and mileage totals (perusal recommended). Events attended and venues visited include the Goodwood Revival; Norwich Union Run; Circuit de Reims; Circuit Paul Armagnac, Nogaro; Circuit des Ramparts, Angoulême; Beaulieu Autoumble; and Brooklands. The car's most recent adventure involved an extended tour of France in September/October 2018, during which it covered 1,835 miles in three weeks with no problems apart from a couple of easily fixed fluid leaks. The aforementioned log shows that 'LFF 810' has been maintained with no expense spared while in the vendor's long-term stewardship. Major works undertaken include an engine overhaul by marque specialist Alan Collins in the winter 2011/2012, and overhaul of the suspension, brakes, and steering by JD Classics in August 2014. JD Classics also fitted a pair of refurbished 2' SU HD8 carburettors, replacing the standard (and worn) 1¾' items, together with a suitably modified inlet manifold. In April 2016 extensive bodywork repairs and full re-spray were carried out by Splined Hub; bonnet louvres were cut at the same time, and the interior woodwork re-lacquered and veneer on dashboard panels replaced. Described by the vendor as in generally good condition, this obviously much-loved Jaguar Mk2 is offered with a V5C document; bills relating to the 2016 restoration; and the aforementioned log.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 79/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Offered from a distinguished private collection,1964 Jaguar Mk 2 3.8-Litre 'Coombs Replica' Sports Saloon Chassis no. 2335171964 Jaguar Mk 2 3.8-Litre 'Coombs Replica' Sports SaloonRegistration no. HPA 700CChassis no. 233517Odometer Reading: TBAMoT Expiry: Exempt*Rebuilt to 'Coombs' specification in the mid/late 1990s*Manual/overdrive transmission*Discreetly upgraded*Present ownership since April 2016A progressive development of the Mark 1, Jaguar's first unitary construction saloon, the Mark 2 made its debut in October 1959. Slimmer windscreen pillars and deeper side windows greatly enlarged the Mark 2's glass area, and the deletion of its predecessor's full-sized rear wheel spats allowed the rear track to be widened, a move which increased roll resistance and stability. Otherwise, the running gear remained much the same as before, with independent front suspension by wishbones and coil springs, leaf-sprung live rear axle, and Dunlop servo-assisted disc brakes (optional at first on the Mark 1 but standard from November 1957) on all four wheels. A redesigned dashboard with speedometer and rev-counter ahead of the driver and minor gauges grouped centrally established Jaguar's layout for years to come. With the Mark 2's arrival, the 3.8-litre version of Jaguar's XK 'six' became available for the first time in the company's medium-sized saloon. This engine, used previously in the Mark IX saloon, produced 220bhp at 5,500rpm, an output sufficient to propel the top-of-the-range Mark 2 to 125mph. Transmission options were a four-speed manual (with or without overdrive) or Borg-Warner automatic gearbox, an improved all-synchromesh version of the former being specified from 1965.The superb example offered here has been restored and rebuilt in the style of the racing Mark 2 saloons prepared and entered by Guildford-based Jaguar dealer John Coombs in the early 1960s. A Jaguar/Daimler dating letter on file reveals that chassis number '233517' was originally finished in dark blue with light blue trim (the same as it is today) and was retailed via Henlys. The Jaguar retains its original registration number, 'HPA 700C'.This car's history is not known prior to 1989 when it was acquired by Mr Ongun of London, to whom the aforementioned letter was addressed. Next owner Mr Vann acquired 'HPA 300C' in 1992 and it was he that commissioned its restoration. The no-expense-spared rebuild was commenced by marque specialists Three Point Four and completed in November 1997 by Scott-Moncrieff (see bills and photographs on file). The car was subsequently re-trimmed by renowned experts Suffolk & Turley. Its specification includes a rebuilt, balanced, and tuned engine; 2' SU carburettors on matching manifolds; front anti-roll bar; Koni shock absorbers; up-rated coil springs to the front suspension; Coombs-type rear wheelarches; Coombs-type chromed wire wheels; Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel; Pioneer stereo system; and discreet period-style circular mirrors to the window frames. The Jaguar remained with Mr Vann for the next 20-or-so years before being sold to the current vendor, a prominent private collector, by which time it had covered only some 8,000 miles since the restoration and was still in 'exemplary condition'. While in the vendor's care, 'HPA 300C' has been fastidiously maintained by Red Triangle, as evidenced by their bills on file.Presented in generally excellent condition, this discreetly upgraded 3.8-litre Mk2 is offered with the 2016 purchase receipt, copies of old V5/V5C documents, and the aforementioned invoices, etc.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 85/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1977 Ford RS2000Registration no. RLT 248RChassis no. GCATL97706Odometer Reading: One mile since restorationMoT Expiry: 28/1/2020*Complete nut and bolt restoration*Rarely seen in this condition*Sensibly guidedEven the most distanced classic market watcher cannot have escaped the rising values of fast Fords in the past, but those with a blue oval appreciation would already have known about their excellent engineering, handling and performance, usually clothed in a relatively everyman bodyshell. The problem for today's would-be owner is finding a suitable car, so for anyone in the market for a Mk2 Escort RS2000, MPH proudly suggest this 1977 example. It was bought by the vendor two years ago and given a full, complete and intense nut-and-bolt restoration. The results speak for themselves or, as out vendor says, 'you won't find a better example on the market!'. It is clear the attention to detail cannot have been bettered: the bodywork and paint attest to careful execution, whether it is the straightness and alignment of the body panels, the application of the red paintwork or even the presentation of the external black trim, it is in the engine bay that attention to detail lives on. The interior is equally outstanding – seats, carpet, door panels and dashboard demonstrate a showroom-new air that is all-too-often never properly achieved. Equal attention has been applied to the car's underside and also its mechanicals, the vendor reporting the engine and the running gear are in excellent order throughout. In all, a thoroughly tempting offering for any fast Ford enthusiasts, or anyone who likes everyman performance cars from the pre-hatchback era. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Please note the odometer reading is 17.Please note the correct chassis number is GCATSL97706Vendor Score Total: 100/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Property from a Deceased Estate1970 Lotus Elan S4 SE Drophead Coupé Registration no. DPB 229JChassis no. 7006150079COdometer Reading: TBAMoT Expiry: Exempt *In the hands of the late owner from 1979 to date*Offering room for improvement*Known ownership from 1975 Coming from a deceased estate, this Elan SE comes to auction in generally good order, having not been used since 2005. The bodywork has been repaired twice, once to the nearside front quarter and then to a wheelarch but this shows signs of deterioration and would require further work. At the time of the first repair the body was re-painted in period Ford Daytona yellow, which is now showing micr-blistering. The black interior is well preserved with the seats, centre console and dashboard. At the heart of any Elan is its engine and notes report that it was re-built at 40,000 miles with a +0.030 overbore while at 55,000 miles later the pistons and bearings were removed and inspected. The car has an auxiliary electric cooling fan fitted. An exchange gearbox was fitted at 50,000 miles along with a replacement clutch and rear wheel bearings at 68,000 miles. A hard top is available, plus the soft top and tonneau cover. There is a workshop manual and almost complete run of Lotus Club magazines and comprehensive notes from the present owner's files. Coming from long-term ownership this Elan offers great scope for improvement or could simply be re-commissioned for unashamed open-road enjoyment. Property from a deceased estate. See history file for copies of the owner's notes on the car. 1958 Edsel RangerRegistration no. 520 XVDChassis no. C9UF712999Odometer Reading: TBAMoT Expiry: Exempt *Second year of production*Bodywork requires some attention*Seldom seen in the UKThe Edsel story has gone into legend as the multi-million dollar flop, that resulted from Ford's market-grabbing intentions. The Edsel marque was conceived to fit between Mercury and Lincoln models by using Ford and Mercury bodyshells with dedicated Edsel front and rear sections. The 1958 model line-up comprised, in ascending order, Ranger, Pace, Corsair and Citation models. After 1958 the model range was slimmed-down and the last-gasp 1960 models used full-sized Ford bodyshells with trim and badging differences. This 1959 Ranger is powered by a Y-block V8, here in smaller 292 cubic inch (4.8-litre) form, with two-speed Mile-O-Matic transmission and was built on 10 December 1958 at the Lousville plant, painted Gold Metallic and Snow White with two-tone Green vinyl and Signet cloth trim. The bodywork is in average condition and the paint is poor, and it should be noted the bumpers have been painted. The green and light gold interior is generally good and the dashboard is also good. The engine is said to be poor for starting and running and the underbonnet presentation is average: running gear is reported to be in poor order.Rare in its homeland this 1959 Ranger requires attention but would make a thoroughly worthwhile project. Completed in December 1958 in the current colour combination of Gold Metallic and Snow White with a two tone vinyl and cloth interior. Fitted with the 292 ci V8 engine. 1989 Volvo 480 Turbo CoupéRegistration no. EIG 1012Chassis no. XLBEX063EKC541173Odometer Reading: 56,250MoT Expiry: 29/06/2021 *Rare manual gearbox model – one of a believed 12 survivors*Just 56,250 miles from new*Said to be running and driving 'beautifully' The Volvo 480 was a rare beast when new and even moreso today, and especially so in Turbo form. Drawing its inspiration from the early 1970s P1800ES, the 480 was a smaller sporting coupé built up to a quality and not down to a price. This 1989 model has had just three previous owners, the first two being father and son, spending all its life (until recently) in Ireland. It was laid up from 2013 until the end of 2019, the vendor says. Described as solid and original the typically solid Volvo bodywork is said to be very good, the paint, trim and wheels/tyres as good. The interior has original seats and trim, the seats reported as being very good and the remainder as good. The turbo-charged engine is vendor-assessed as being very good for starting and running and the car is said to drive beautifully. Running gear is assessed to be very good: new rear brake calipers and flexi-pipes have been fitted. A rare opportunity to buy one of Volvo's much-forgotten but blisteringly quick Turbo compact coupés, and one with traceable history and a recent service. One of just 12 believed to be left on the roads this is a fantastic opportunity to buy a low mileage, manual turbo example. Just a couple of years after this car was built emissions controls strangled even the largest engines, so in many ways this Corvette and its siblings represent the end of an era. Offered here is an unmistakably yellow example whose body and paintwork present well, as do the trim and wheels/tyres. The brown interior is in good condition with some wear to the trim, centre console and the steering wheel, while the door cards and seat facings present well. Handbook and tools are included, along with t-top envelopes and armrest covers. If there's no substitute for cubic inches this 454 Corvette T-Top is the answer. 1996 Nissan 200 SX, 1998 cc. Registration number P713 SRH. Chassis number JN1GBAS14U0010758. Engine number SR20-278357.Japanese cars were of little interest to UK enthusiasts in the '70s and '80s but that changed dramatically in the 1990's with the arrival of a whole slew of turbocharged road rockets like the Toyota Supra, Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi 3000GT which could give even Porsche and Ferrari drivers a fright. Nissan joined the fray with brutish sports models like the Skyline and the 300ZX and the smaller 180SX which immediately won the Car of the Year award when it was launched in Japan in 1989. Marketed as the 200SX in Europe, it used the rear-wheel drive Silvia S13 chassis mated to a 167bhp 1.8 turbo CA18DET engine with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed auto gearbox. Quick, capable and beautifully balanced, it was also eminently tunable and soon gained cult status on the burgeoning drift scene, power sliding its way around old airfields the length and breadth of the country. In 1994 the 200SX morphed into the longer, wider S14 version, now with a 2.0 engine. SRH was first registered in August 1996 and our vendor purchased it in February 1997, first in his business name and then from 2011 his own. During his ownership it has always been serviced with 15 stamps in the book, the last being at 64,184 miles in August 2017 since when the MOTs have taken the mileage to 65,508 miles. He has recently purchased a new car and this is now surplus to requirements. It has had a new turbo fitted and the engine and gearbox are said to be in very good order, as is the interior which has a CD player fitted.Sold with the V5C, MOT until December 2020, service book and other original books.

Lot 1013

1947 Triumph 1800 Roadster, 1776 cc. Registration number WXG 903 (non transferable). Chassis number TRD 1170. Engine number TRD 1170. The 1800 Roadster was designed in the closing days of World War II. Triumph had been bought by the Standard Motor Company in 1944, and the managing director of Standard, Sir John Black, wanted a sports car to take on Jaguar, who had used Standard engines in the pre-war period. After getting Black's approval for the general shape, Frank Callaby worked with Arthur Ballard to design the details of the body. Early post-war steel shortages meant that the body was built from aluminium, using rubber press tools that had been used making panels for the largely wooden bodied Mosquito bomber that had been built by Standard during the war. The engine was a version of Standard's 1.5-litre, four-cylinder side-valve design that had been converted to overhead valves by Harry Weslake and built by Standard exclusively for SS-Jaguar before World War II. The Triumph version differed from the Jaguar version in having a 6.7:1 compression ratio instead of the Jaguar's 7.6:1 and a downdraught Solex carburettor instead of the Jaguar's side-draught SU. A four-speed gearbox with synchromesh on the top three ratios was used. The tubular steel chassis was a short-wheelbase version of the 1800 saloon, featuring transverse leaf sprung independent suspension at the front and a live axle with semi-elliptic springs at the rear. The rear track was wider than the front by some 4 inches. Brakes were hydraulic. WXG was originally registered on the 27th September 1947 as AEE 808 and owned by Antony Richards of Shepton Mallet; in January 1962 he sold it to Antony Holmes and then Gerald Pavey in the May, by 1966 it was with Maurice and Sheila Tarrant of Bournemouth and in use until at least 1970 when it was MOT'd at 45 miles. By 1978 it was with its long term owner, Dr Evans of Axminster as he was in correspondence with the Dept of Transport then. There is a V5 on file with this registration number from 1995. Between 1984 and 1995 he had the car fully restored and painted in gunmetal grey and fitted with blue Connolly Hide, blue Mohair hood and blue 100% wool carpets by Axminster Upholstery at a cost of £2,660, a stainless steel exhaust was also fitted. MOT history from 2006 until 2012 shows the mileage rising from 1,932 to 12,226 when it was taken off the road. In 2015 he was issued the new registration number WXG by DVLA for an unknown reason and the MOT mileage had dropped to 1,238 miles, today it is at 1,752 miles. Purchased in November 2018 from Charterhouse of Sherbourne Auctioneers at the Bristol Classic Car show, it has had summer use and our vendor has decided sell due to a change of circumstances. One of only 2501 1800's built between 1946 and 1947, this older restoration runs well and the Axminster interior has stood the test of time very well. Further detailing will make this a wonderful period machine. Sold with the V5C, V5, R.F.60, vast history folder and the owners handbook

Lot 1030

1969 Lambretta Jet 200, 200cc (see text). Registration number MDM 367G. Frame number SX200 - 557609. Engine number SX200 - 563570. The history of Lambretta in Spain began in 1952 when a group of prominent Basque businessmen created "Lambretta Locomociones SA". A factory was built in Eiber (Northern Spain) in 1953 and proper production began in earnest in 1954, production finally ceased 35 years later in 1989. As wealth increased in western Europe in the late 1960s, the demand for motor scooters fell as the small car became affordable to more people and Lambretta sales started to decline, as did the financial status of parent company Innocenti. British Leyland took advantage of Innocenti's financial difficulties and their production and engineering expertise contracting them to produce cars under licence. The company was eventually sold to BLMC. Unfortunately, lack of foresight had caused BLMC to buy a fashion trend that was ending rapidly, motor-scooter sales declined sharply, and Innocenti finally closed shop in 1972 and production was taken over by the Indian company API. 1966 saw the introduction of the first 200cc model in Spain, the JET 200. The very early models are identical to an Italian SX200 except for the typical "Li" metal front mudguard and horncasting. The engine was similar in design and based around that of the Innocenti SX 200. Using the same top end configuration and carburettor, bhp would have been on a similar scale. The cylinder and piston were very well made and have proved reliable and hard wearing for many thousands of miles. The crankshaft likewise was well made but still only used the SX style flywheel taper and would have been much better had it been upgraded to the GP specification. Using a Spanish made Dellorto SH2O carburettor fuel consumption remained good and with a slightly larger fuel tank range was slightly improved. The transmission and gearbox were also identical to the SX 200 and used the same set of gear ratios. MDM was first registered with DVLA in January 2012 and is recorded as 125cc instead of the 200cc it is (as is often found on scooter V5C's). Also of note is that the Spanish frame number SX200 557609 is for c.1974 and is a mark 3 version. It has had a recent engine rebuild, with a GP200 Mazzuuchelgi standard crank Mahle pistons, all bearings and seals have been replaced and a new 22ML carb fitted, a new 12v electrical system, new 42ML exhaust. Sold with the V5C and a breakdown of the engine rebuild. The scooter started easily when delivered and has been ridden by a member of a our staff with no issues.

1973 Honda SS50, 49cc. Registration number UXF 95M (not recorded with DVLA, see text). Frame number SS50Z 216993. Engine number TBC.The first sports derivative of Honda's classic C100 Super Cub 'step-thru', the C110 Sports Cub, appeared in October 1960. This was a proper small motorcycle, with spine frame and a more powerful version of the C100 motor. Larger-capacity models soon followed and in 1964 an overhead-camshaft version of the engine was introduced on the CS90 sports, with 50cc and 65cc derivatives arriving in 1965. An even more sporting tiddler - the SS50 - arrived for 1967 equipped with a more powerful version of the OHC engine producing 6.0bhp at 11,000rpm and coupled to a five-speed gearbox. During the mid-1970s the model was offered on the UK market in 'Sixteener Special' guise equipped with four-speed gearbox and pedals, thereby qualifying as a moped, and continued in production to the end of 1977.UFX was purchased in 1973 at the height of the fuel crisis as a cheap way to get to work, when fuel prices came down is was laid up in August 1975 with 2,522 miles on the clock. It remained in his home, always with the intention of getting in on the road. Several years ago his son bought him a replacement tank as the original had rotted through and when he passed on it became his sons. He was not interested in it so passed it on to our vendor. In running order, although the fuel tap leaks, this is a very original machine (apart from the tank) that now awaits its next custodian. There is no paperwork with this lot apart from the old tax disc.

Lot 1039

1978 Suzuki 250 X7, 249cc. registration number KNP 8T. Frame number 500201. Engine number GT2502 101185. Suzuki's GT250 X7 is the ultimate expression of the air-cooled 250 sports bike. Launched in 1978 it instantly became the fastest 250 on the streets. Motorcycle Mechanics' jockey-like test rider Brian Crichton - lying flat on the tank - squeezed 99.5mph out of the first test bike to reach our shores. Removing the mirrors yielded an extra 1mph, making the X7 the first genuine 100mph 250 in the UK. Mechanically, it was not a radical departure from the late '60s T250 Super Six. The secret of the X7's speed is not a huge leap forward in engine technology, but rather a crash diet. At only 128kg, the X7 is a staggering 18kg less than the GT250B and C models it replaced, and 23.5kg lighter than Yamaha's air-cooled RD250. Adopting a single downtube frame over the older GT's twin downtube layout shaved almost 1.5kg from the X7's chassis, and its ultra-compact engine weighs 7.3kg less than the 'old' GT250B/C mill. The X7's combination of power and light weight worked brilliantly and the bike was virtually the same from 1978 until it made way for the RG250 Gamma in 1983. In five years all that changed were its colours and graphics, and a switch to rectangular indicators and a one-piece clock housing in 1980. KNP had been well restored by a previous owner who stripped the engine, overhauled the crank and fitted new pistons, rings, small ends, bearings and seals, the frame was stripped and powder coated, with new bearings, the forks were rebuilt, carb overhauled, new cables, and electrics including a Rexspeed CDI unit, all the bodywork was resprayed, a new seat fitted as well as tyres and battery. Then it was set up on a rolling road for the Higgspeed exhaust system. Our vendor purchased it in December 2018 but there was a slight oil leak from the gearbox so he rebuild it with new seal, apart from that little has been done with apart from the occasional ride out. MOT's from 1995 at 20,397 and 1996 at 21,633 together with the 2017 one at 27,747, confirm its mileage; today it is 27,775. Sold with the V5C and old MOTS, the bike started instantly when the cataloguer viewed it and produced the video.

Lot 1049

1981 Yamaha XS650, 653cc. Registration number UNK 894W. Frame number 447- 856128. Engine number 856128. When the Yamaha XS 650 was launched in October 1969 it had one of the most advanced engines in its class of large parallel twin motorcycles. The engine and gearbox are unit construction with the crankcase split horizontally for ease of assembly whereas almost all contemporaries in its class in 1969 are either unit construction with a vertically split crankcase or pre-unit construction with separate engine and gearbox. In 1969 only the Laverda 750S, and the Honda CB350, also launched that year, matched the XS 650's modernity of unit construction and SOHC valve operation. The XS 650 was produced until 1985, with regular upgrades to the braking system, suspension and engine. UNK is an UK machine, first registered on the 31st of March 1981 and is believed to have been owned by a musician originally and our vendor bought it from a music producer who had bought from his estate in 2004. Stored unused in a barn since then when our vendor bought it in 2013 the indicated mileage was only some 6,000 miles. He has totally stripped and rebuild the machine, powder coating the frame, and other parts, the tinware was resprayed, a new wiring loom fitted, the wheels were rebuilt as were the brakes. Upon examination the engine and gearbox where found to be in very good order so have not been touched apart from a service; it was back on the road in 2019. There is a detailed history folder of the work undertaken, along with receipts for the parts/work. It is being sold to make room for his next project. Sold with the V5C, MOT until October 2020 and the history folder.

2008 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Electra, 499 cc. Registration number LK08 MXA. Frame number E3AHBST56C001029. Engine number 6LS501029D. The Royal Enfield Bullet was originally a British overhead valve single cylinder four-stroke motorcycle made by Royal Enfield in Redditch, Worcestershire, but now produced by Royal Enfield Motors, the successor to the British company, at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in India. The Royal Enfield Bullet has the longest production run of any motorcycle having remained continuously in production since 1948. The Bullet marque is even older, and has passed 75 years of continuous production. The Royal Enfield and Bullet names derive from the company's links with the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield, London. The British company produced many noteworthy motorcycles over the next seven decades until the '70s when it folded. Manufacture continued in India, though the bikes were predominantly intended for local use and were not widely exported. In 1995 Enfield of India bought the rights to the name "Royal Enfield" and began renewed development efforts. Modern carburetors, five-speed transmissions and new twin-leading-shoe front brake systems were notable improvements. MXA is a three owner example is fitted with the lean burn engine, a five speed gearbox operated on the left and electric start with only some 5700 miles from new it offers the perfect mixture of classic motorcycling on a modern machine with an amazing history. Purchased in these rooms on the 31st July 2016 with a mileage of 5,345 it has hardly been used by our vendor. In October 2106 he replaced the headlight rim and gear lever with Indian imports. 1953 Sunbeam S8, 489cc. Registration number SSL 421 (non tranferrable). Frame number S7 5792. Engine number S8 10297. A wartime design by Erling Poppe, the Sunbeam inline twin was introduced by BSA, owners of Sunbeam Cycles Limited, in 1947, loosely based on the BMW R75 designs that were acquired as war reparations by BSA). Built in Redditch, the unusual engine layout was similar to that of a car, being a longitudinally mounted inline vertical OHC 500 cc twin based on an experimental 1932 BSA design (the Line-Ahead-Twin - LAT) with coil ignition and wet sump lubrication which, through a dry clutch, drove a shaft drive to the rear wheel. The inline engine made this technologically feasible-horizontally-opposed ("flat") twin engines on BMW motorcycles had already used shaft drives following the system employed by Nimbus in 1918. A luxury tourer, it was of advanced specification. The clutch housing and four-speed gearbox bolted directly to the back of the engine, which was rubber mounted in the duplex loop frame, an innovation that required a flexible joint in the exhaust system ahead of the silencer. The first S7 version was equipped with balloon tyres, a feature not carried over to the deliberately more conventional and also lighter and cheaper, S8 introduced in 1949. The front fork and 7" brake were now standard BSA components and there were numerous other changes made in the interests of rationalisation. Never as popular as BSA's more performance orientated models, the gentlemanly S7 and S8 remained in production until 1957. SSL would appear to have been recommissioned in March 1991 when it was re registered with DVLA, By 2001 it was with David Edsar and our vendors father purchased it in 2003, MOT's in 2000 show a mileage of 3,590, in 2002 at 3905, 2005 at 3,906. Today it shows the same 3,906. Having been stored in a dry garage for the last 15 years it will require recommissioning before use on the road. Sold with the V5C and three old MOT's, please note DVLA has the frame and engine recorded as 57 and 58 not S7 and S8.

1960 Triumph T100A, 500 cc. Registration number 671 LKR. Frame number T100A H17622. Engine number T100A H17622. The unit series Triumph is so well chronicled it is a difficult task adding any fresh facts to the legend, which in 500cc and 650cc capacity was undoubtedly the UK's most popular twin, whether for touring, sports, or outright competition. Between 1957 and the late 1960s the Triumph factory at Meriden regularly produced in excess of 30,000 twins per annum, although the sweeter running half litre models tended to be rather overshadowed following the introduction of the ultra successful 650cc Bonneville. During their lifespan the 500cc Speed Twin and Tiger 100 were subject to a number of mechanical updates, though it is fair to say that the later enclosure of the bike's rear end was not Triumph's most popular innovation! LKR was purchased by our vendor in July 2018 as a barn find and he obtained a dating certificate from the Triumph Owners Club which stated that it left Meriden Works on the 16th August 1960, with a Quickly Detachable rear wheel and dispatched to W.B. Jury Ltd of Tunbridge Wells. He has nearly completed the restoration with an engine rebore and plus 0.20 pistons, the gearbox was fine, the wheels were rebuilt with chrome rims, painted hubs and stainless steel spokes, the frame was powder coated, the forks have been stripped and rebuilt, new loam and battery, plus many smaller parts. The restoration has now stalled and he acknowledges it is time to pass it onto someone else to finish and enjoy. Sold with the V5C, owners handbook and parts catalogue, various receipts and a quantity of used spares that have been replaced.

1959 BSA A10 Golden Flash, 650cc. Registration number LSL 530. Frame number FA7 12463. Engine number CA10 3731. Launched in 1949, the BSA A10 was a development of the A7 500cc and was needed to compete with the Triumph Speed Twin, it was designed by Bert Hopwood (who had previously worked at Triumph and Norton). Initially it was available with a rigid frame but the rear plunger was a more popular choice, especially amongst the sidecar buyers. It had hinged rear mudguard and a semi unit gearbox mated to the parallel twin engine until 1954 when a swinging arm rear was introduced along with separate gearbox and engine. Initially offered in black and chrome to the UK market a new gold colour was introduced and became very popular and led to the name Golden Flash, some 80% of all units were made for export which meant that there were long waiting lists for UK buyers. The BSA Owners Club dating certificate states that the frame was dispatched from the factory to S. Andrews Motors of Newcastle on the 7th April 1959, the engine is from a machine dispatched to Gordon Woodman Ltd of Holbeach on the 10th August 1954. Our vendor purchased the powder coated frame in 2015 and commenced a restoration over 2018 and 2019. He used Service Engineering to regrind the crank, he fitted new big ends, pistons, camshaft, and bearings, the gearbox was inspected, requiring no work he fitted new primary and rear chains, the running gear included new hubs and spokes with Dunlop K82 tyres, new brake shoes and cables. He fitted a Wassell 12 v electronic ignition with a new gel battery, made a new wiring loam with a four fuse box and a positive earth regulator. Since completion he has travelled some 250 miles on it but is now selling a the space is needed. This very well sorted machine is testament to the restorer and should give many years of good and reliable service in the future. Sold with the V5C, dating certificate and a copy of the wiring diagram.

Lot 106

1960 Triumph 6T Thunderbird project, 649 cc. Registration number WAJ 225. Frame number D 3956. Engine two present 6t 28118, 6T 30923. Triumph's post-war 6T was a trend-setter from its introduction for the 1949 season, the 650cc Siamesed twin-cylinder, overhead valve engine punching out 34bhp at 6,300rpm, giving Edward Turner's new machine an impressive turn of speed. True to Triumph form the new 6T was a particularly good-looker and once again Triumph's choice of names was impeccable, the name Thunderbird certainly reflecting the nature of performance that a new owner could expect from his machine. The success of the 6T model is reflected in its production run which continued until 1962. This project was registered with DVLA by our vendors father in 1983 and consists of the frame, various tinware, two part engines, gearbox and other parts, prospective purchases should satisfy themselves as to the completeness of the project. Sold with the V5.

11938 Triumph Tiger 100, 500 cc. (see text). Registration number EYV 687. Frame number TH 6362. Engine number 40 T100 29620.Although Edward Turner’s Triumph Speed Twin caused a sensation when it appeared at the 1937 Motorcycle Show, few of its admirers can have guessed how influential the design would prove to be. True, there had been vertical twins before; indeed, Turner’s predecessor at Meriden - Val Page - had designed one a few years previously, but Triumph’s newcomer established a formula that would be adopted by all of Britain’s major motorcycle manufacturers in the succeeding decade. And whereas previous vertical twins had suffered from excess bulk, Turner’s was lighter and narrower across the crankcase than the contemporary single-cylinder Tiger 90, whose cycle parts it shared, and from certain angles looked just like a twin-port single. This was just what the conservatively minded motorcycling public wanted and the Speed Twin proved an enormous success for Triumph, lifting the company out of the economic doldrums and setting it on the road to future prosperity. Performance proved exemplary for a road-going 500, around 85mph being attainable by the Speed Twin while the Tiger 100 sports version was even faster.Technical changes over the Speed Twin included forged alloy pistons, a very early use of the technology. The cylinders were forged in a single casting and held in place by eight studs, instead of the Speed Twin’s six. The Tiger 100 featured a single Amal carburetor, possible thanks to the 360-degree firing interval of the two cylinders. Finished in silver and costing £5 more, new features included a larger fuel tank and detachable silencers, the result being a machine that could touch 100mph in road trim and exceed it with the silencer end-caps removed. In March 1939, Triumph came up with an unorthodox launch of the new Tiger 100. Using a Tiger 100 and a Speed Twin straight from dealers showrooms, endurance was tested with a run of over 1,800 miles from John o'Groats to Land's End in Cornwall then to the Brooklands circuit for six hours of continuous high-speed laps, where riders Ivan Wicksteed and David Whitworth averaged 78.5 miles per hour with a final lap of 88.5 miles per hour, winning Triumph the Maudes Trophy. The Tiger 100's sporting pretensions were later further proven through Freddie Clarke's 1939 lap record at Brooklands of 118.02 miles per hour on a bored-out 503 cc Tiger 100.When production resumed in 1946, the T100 reappeared with telescopic forks in place of the original girders, and separate dynamo and magneto instead of the pre-war version's magdyno.EYV was acquired by our vendor in the late 1970's, the frame is a 1938 Speed Twin and he painstakingly built a 1940 Tiger 100 with the correct engine as noted above. He had it registered in 1983 with DVLA.He went to great detail, the mixture levers have Amal stamped on them, the tool box has a piano hinge, all nuts and bolts are period correct and only found on pre war machines. He fitted a five speed gearbox but the original four speed is included with the sale. Also of note is that the engine has a bronze head fitted.Over the years the machine has only received regular maintenance and has now covered some 82,000. In 2005, with a friend on a 1940 Speed Twin, over a period of a week, he completed the same run as the Maudes Trophy of 1938, ending up at Brooklands. Now at the ripe age of 91 he has decided to part with the bike, he last rode it in 2019 and when the cataloguer attended he kicked it over on the third attempt, impressive!Sold with the R.F.60 V5, V5C, many tax dics, MOT's, original manuals, photocopied articles, Spicers are honoured to have been asked to find the Tiger 100 a new home after 50 years of ownership.

1979 Honda CB250N Super Dream, 249 cc. Registration number SDN 966T (see text). Frame number unknown. Engine number unknown. The CB250N Super Dream was the latest in a long line of quarter-litre sports twins from Honda when it arrived in the late 1970's. A worldwide sales success, the CB250N featured Honda's 'Euro' styling and Comstar wheels, while the 6-valve, twin-cylinder motor delivered its 27bhp maximum output via a six-speed gearbox. Tested by Bike magazine in 1980, the versatile CB250N returned an overall fuel consumption figure in excess of 50mpg with a top speed of over 80mph. This example has recently been pulled from a shed that was being demolished and has suffered since last being on the road in 1998. There is no vin tag on the frame. DVLA records state it to on a SORN. Sold with no paperwork, and various spares including a part frame.
