1964 Lamborghini Type FL3 Model 5C Crawler TractorRegistration no. not registeredChassis no. 16807Odometer reading: N/AMOT: N/A*Formerly in use in a French vineyard*Brought to the UK circa 10 years ago*'On the button'To view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:After serving as a mechanic in the Regia Aeronautica during WW2, Ferruccio Lamborghini started building tractors in 1948. He used war surplus materials at first but by 1952 was making tractors of his own design powered by water-cooled MWM engines. Later he developed his own engines and by 1959 they were air-cooled. The success of the tractor business enabled Lamborghini to branch out into motor manufacturing in 1963; the rest, as they say, is history. In 1970 a large order of tractors for Bolivia was cancelled following a coup d'état, hitting the company's finances. Eventually all the tractors were sold, but Ferruccio had decided to concentrate his efforts on his automobile business and in 1973 sold the Lamborghini Trattori company to the SAME group. Lamborghini's tractors are now prized by collectors.Powered by a three-cylinder diesel engine, this Lamborghini crawler tractor was brought to the UK around 10 years ago having previously been in use in a vineyard the South of France. Its original paintwork has a lovely patina and the vehicle is described as 'on the button'. This superb tractor would make a distinctive and welcome addition to any significant collection of classic agricultural machinery, or a unique addition to any Lamborghini collection. It has the potential to draw crowds, especially when exhibited alongside the most beautiful supercars sharing the marque's famous 'Raging Bull' emblem. 1985 Land Rover 90 V8 County Station Wagon 4x4Registration no. D216 CRWChassis no. SALLDVBV7AA233483Odometer reading: 38,900MOT: 27/10/21*Former Land Rover factory demonstrator*Exceptionally original and unmolested*Present ownership for 19 years*Only 38,000 warranted miles from new To view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:Offered here is one of the very first production Land Rover 90 V8s: a short-wheelbase County seven-seater station wagon with the early 'lift door handles'. Other notable features include Alpine roof lights; top-of-the-range cloth trim; brown carpeting; the five-speed gearbox; and power steering. This quite exceptional vehicle has covered a mere 38,000 warranted miles from new and is totally original, with galvanised capping and unpainted rivets, just as it left the factory. An extremely rare find, it was featured as the cover story by Land Rover Enthusiast in May 2002 and again ten years later. This example left the factory on 28th March 1985, prior to the 90 V8's official announcement, and it remained unregistered until 17th September 1986. During those 18 months, the vehicle remained the property of Land Rover Ltd and was used as a factory demonstrator before being registered as 'D216 CRW', a recognised factory registration. It was acquired in 2002 by the vendor, who is responsible for 21,000 of the 38,000 miles recorded. His first job was to commission the superior full under-body protection offered by 'Before N After' in Newbury. Never re-sprayed and totally original, 'D216 CRW' comes with the original road wheels as well as a set of Wolf Land Rover wheels and tyres as shown. A four-barrel Holley 390 carburettor, sports manifolds and a stainless steel exhaust are the only improvements made.Vendor Score Total: 92/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1933 Sunbeam 23.8hp 'Folding Head' CoupéRegistration no. SN169Chassis no. 7112ROdometer reading: TBCMOT: Exempt*One of only 14 produced*Known ownership history*Expertly maintained by Dr Jim CatnachFootnotes:One of 14 produced, of which only two are known to survive, this handsome Sunbeam 23.8hp Folding Head Coupé comes with an extensive history file. The history of 'SN 169' has been well researched by a previous owner, John Tomsett, and is recounted in his article in the STD Register Journal of winter 2009 (copy on file and well worth a read). Mr Tomsett's research revealed that the Sunbeam's first owner was David Johnstone-Smith, a wealthy Scottish accountant. When Mr Johnstone-Smith passed away, the Sunbeam was sold to his local doctor, Dr Thomas Collier-Findlay. Circa 1955/56, 'SN 169' was purchased by Malcolm Templeton. In 1970 Mr Templeton sold the Sunbeam and it was purchased in the 1990s by Tony Howarth. 'SN 169' then passed through a number of dealers in the North West including Mark Prosser in Altrincham, who had the car re-commissioned by Merlin Classics. From John Aitkins the car passed to Peter Webb in 1992, remaining with him until purchased by John Tomsett. The current owner, a Sunbeam enthusiast, acquired 'SN 169' in 2012 and has enjoyed it with his family as well as the odd excursion at Goodwood (photographs on file). During this time, the car has been expertly maintained by the guru of pre-war Sunbeams, Dr Jim Catnach of Lincolnshire, with invoices for his work on file together with numerous photographs of previous restoration works. Property of a deceased's estate1933 Lagonda 16/80 Tourer ProjectRegistration no. ALK 287Chassis no. S10444Odometer reading: N/AMOT: Exempt*One of only 260 made*Believed off the road since the 1960s*Offered for restorationFootnotes:Based on the chassis of the preceding 2-Litre Continental four-cylinder model, whose overall style and good looks it retained, the six-cylinder 16/80 was new for the 1933 season. The 16/80 employed a 1,991cc overhead-valve Crossley engine, reworked by Lagonda to its own specification, and could be ordered with a conventional four-speed manual or pre-selector transmission enabling swift and easy changes. Autocar liked Lagonda's new medium-size model (which took its name from its 16hp RAC rating and 80mph top speed) remarking on its silence, smoothness, brisk acceleration and effortless high-speed cruising. Approximately 260 were made, of which it is believed around half survive. The attached tax disc expiring in 1965 may be an indication of when this example was last used. 'ALK 287' was purchased in 1968 by the late owner, who dreamed of returning the car to former glory, although that ambition had to wait until he retired. An 'at home' restoration was commenced at least 15 years ago, the car being dismantled but little progress made. Other commitments again took precedence, and the project had proceeded no further when the owner died last year. The chassis is sound and the bodywork fundamentally straight, though the car's mechanical condition is not known. Offered for restoration, the Lagonda comes with a handbook, old-style logbooks, and a letter from a previous owner. Sold strictly as viewed.Vendor Score Total: 24/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Ex-Jean Simmons1959 Bristol 402 Drophead CoupéRegistration no. NPF 2Chassis no. 402/704Odometer reading: 32,313MOT: Exempt*One of 12 surviving with only 24 made*Professionally restored in 2001*More powerful Frazer Nash-BMW engineTo view a video of this lot please click hereTo view a feature video of this lot please click hereThe Bristol 402 drophead coupé was even more exclusive than the saloon, a mere 24 being delivered between 1949 and 1950, of which it is estimated fewer than 12 survive. Successful racing driver Tony Crook had been involved with Bristol's car division from the outset. Crook won the UK's first post-war motor race driving a Frazer Nash-BMW, a victory witnessed by one of his biggest fans: Stewart Granger. Bristol had already decided to make a small run of convertibles based on the 401, a prospect Granger found very exciting. Crook recalled: 'He and his future wife Jean Simmons were about to star together in the film Adam and Evelyn and Granger was keen to have 'his and hers' identical Bristol cars.' Two of the first were sold to Granger registered 'NPF 1' for himself and 'NPF 2' for Jean Simmons, and were handed over at Anthony Crook Motors in Caterham. Crook later fitted a more powerful Frazer Nash-BMW engine to 'NPF 2' (still in the car today). In 2001, 'NPF 2' was restored by Alpine Eagle, Bob Price and Spencer Lane-Jones. Related bills total more than £75,000, the engine/gearbox overhaul accounting for circa £22,700. Winner of the Bristol Owners' Club concours in 2003, 'NPF 2' was invited to attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2006. It has also featured in Octane magazine (March 2011 edition) and Classic & Sports Car (2014). 1923 Tilling-Stevens Charabanc BusOdometer reading: N/AMOT: Exempt*Running and driving Tilling-Stevens bus*Continued restoration over the last 30-years*Museum kept exampleFootnotes:Founded in 1897, Tilling-Stevens was a British bus manufacturer that was a pioneer in producing hybridised combustion engine vehicles. This 1923 Tilling-Stevens Charabanc TS3A is a petrol-electric bus that features a 1919 Charabanc body, and it is a running and driving example (and is believed to be in good running order). The bus has been well maintained and restored over the last 30-years by the vendor's father and a group of bus enthusiasts within the 'South Downs omnibus trust'. The bus has also been stored 'on trust' at the Amberley chalk pits museum in West Sussex, however after a change in circumstances the bus is now ready for sale. The vehicle itself is not 100% complete and still requires further work to be carried out. Some of the seats are still to be upholstered, the rear corners need filling, and the body panels need painting. Beyond that the bus is complete and offers good scope for personalisation. There is little history with the vehicle, but there are two information chalk boards which provide details of the bus – with the body dating from 1919 and the chassis from 1923. This is a unique and rare vehicle that was an early adopter of the now popular hybrid powertrain. This is a well-cared for open-top example that will require little work before it is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner.Vendor Score Total: 59/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Property of a deceased's estate2018 Smart E-Drive Fortwo E-Drive CoupéRegistration no. WK67YKBChassis no. WME4533912K268850Odometer reading: 50MOT: Expired*One owner*Circa 50 miles from new*Kept garagedFootnotes:Over the last two decades, the Smart microcar had become a familiar sight in cities around the world. Unusually, it was not the creation of an established motor manufacturer but a watchmaker: SMH, makers of Swatch watches. Smart CEO Nicolas Hayek realised that collaboration with a motor industry partner was the way forward and concluded a deal with Daimler-Benz in 1994. The first Fortwo production models were launched in October 1998. An egg-shaped two-seater, the Fortwo Coupé was powered by a rear-mounted petrol engine that drove the rear wheels. Updated with more modern engines and drive trains, the basic concept endures to this day.Offered here is Smart's electric E-Drive Prime Premium model, which is powered by a 60kW, 160Nm motor giving it a top speed of 80mph. The car has a claimed range of 100 miles, enough for most urban driving, and it can be charged from 20% to 100% in 2½ hours using a wall-box or six hours from a domestic power socket. There is, of course, no road tax to pay. 'WK67 YKB' was first registered on 30th January 2018 and used for a handful of short trips, covering only some 50 miles from new. Kept garaged and SORN'd, it is presented in excellent, almost new condition. The car comes with the Mercedes bill of sale, owner's pack, chargers, and two sets of keys.Vendor Score Total: 100/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. XRX 917TChassis no. 9A614803004Odometer reading: TBCMOT: Exempt*Barn find Reliant Kitten*Rare*Sold for restoration*Body in overall good conditionFootnotes:A small economy car produced between 1975 and 1982, the Reliant Kitten was offered in the form of a saloon, van or estate. Essentially the four-wheeled variant of the Robin and offered with the same 848cc four-cylinder engine, the Kitten was surprisingly capable and could hit a top speed of 80mph and also return 45mpg. With only 4,074 made, Reliant Kittens are now hard to come by and rarely come to the market. Bought by the late vendor's husband in 1993, this 1979 example has been dry stored in a barn since it was purchased. Today the car has not been used for some time and is now being sold for restoration. The body has held up remarkably well over the years and is solid, and the interior is also surprisingly presentable. The car is overall complete and comes with some history including its V5 log book. WDD2211762A051498Odometer reading: 43,200MOT: 02/12/2021*High specification S600L*Low mileage*Good service historyFootnotes:First unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2005, the W221 was the fifth generation of the S-Class that is known for bringing the model into the 21st Century. Completely redesigned inside and out, the W221 featured an array of new engines as well as some ground-breaking technological features, including a digitalised dashboard with night view assist, an updated collision warning system, and a new adaptive body control system. This 2006 example is a long-wheelbase S600 model that features the incredibly smooth yet immensely powerful 5.5-litre Twin Turbocharged V12 engine that puts out 510bhp and a mighty 612lbft of torque. This impressive powertrain swiftly moves the car to 60mph in just 4.6 seconds, all whilst retaining a comfortable driving experience. This example has a very high specification that includes electric rear blinds, a panoramic glass sunroof, a Harman Kardon sound system, rear picnic tables, a rear seat entertainment system, and much more. Finished in Obsidian black metallic with a tan leather interior, this car has been very well looked after by its 3 previous owners and has a good service history (mostly by a Mercedes main dealer). It also comes equipped with its original handbooks and only has 43,200 miles from new. This is an excellent example of one of the best generations of Mercedes S-Class.Vendor Score Total: 82/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Improvements to the running gear included revised suspension, lowered ride height, and 17' (up from 16') wheels shod with wider tyres. This desirable limited edition 968 Club Sport was supplied new by Porsche Cars, Reading and comes with a record of services and modifications for the period December 1997 (when the car was classified as 'Cat C, repaired' following an accident) to March 2011. In 2003 the Porsche was track prepared by Tech 9 and fitted with a roll cage, brake ducts, and M030 suspension as part of a series of upgrades. Renowned marque specialists Ninemeister carried out further performance-orientated modifications in 2007, including fitting a supercharger and a Quaife limited-slip differential. The interior was stripped out at the same time. Later that same year Ninemeister fitted a Big Red front brake conversion, new rear discs, and KW suspension all round. Ninemeister continued to service the 968, including rebuilding the cylinder head in September 2009.Bills on file total some £15,000 and the car also comes with a dynamometer printout showing a maximum power reading of 387bhp at 7,133rpm. TGC 91EChassis no. 11202310008572Odometer reading: 6,821MOT: Exempt*300SE Convertible*US specification*Good conditionFootnotes:The Mercedes-Benz 300SE Convertible is the ultimate symbol of luxury and sophistication in the classic car world. First introduced in 1962, the 300SE Convertible had a design that was as elegant as it is timeless, and today they are incredibly sought after with only 708 ever produced. Standard features on the 300SE included the likes of air conditioning, electric windows and a radio, which at the time were not common features on a car. It was also powered by a 2,996cc straight-six engine that initially developed 164bhp, which was later tuned up to 170bhp after 1964. Together with a four-speed manual or automatic gearbox, , the 300SE offered a most relaxed experience with its hydro-pneumatic suspension. This 1967 example is US specification car that is now a fully registered UK vehicle. It's presented in excellent condition throughout, and it's black paintwork and red leather interior both present particularly well. There is little history with the car, however it is running and driving without fault. 1923 Bean 11.9hp TourerRegistration no. BU 2789Chassis no. 519824Odometer reading: N/AMOT: Exempt*Offered at no reserve*Present ownership since 2000*Replacement rear axle fitted*Ready to enjoyFootnotes:Established component suppliers to the British motor industry, the Staffordshire-based firm of Harper Sons & Bean had turned its Dudley and Tipton factories over to munitions production during the Great War. With hostilities at an end, the company turned to motor manufacturing, acquiring the rights to the pre-war Perry 11.9hp from Willys-Overland. The Perry/Bean was powered by a 1,796cc sidevalve four with fixed cylinder head, which drove via a cone clutch, separate three-speed gearbox, and spiral bevel rear axle. At the end of 1920, the company was wound up, re-emerging some twelve months later in reconstituted form. The 'Twelve' was still the mainstay of production and would remain so until 1927. The last Bean passenger cars were made in 1929. The present owner acquired this restored Bean in May 2000 to enjoy with his family (invoice on file). Unfortunately, the rear axle failed, resulting in a replacement (and therefor non-original) axle being fabricated. In good overall condition and ready to enjoy, the car comes with two box files containing current and former V5 registration documents; owner's handbook; spare parts catalogue (photocopy); Bean Car Club literature; some past MoTs; assorted photographs; and various invoices for work carried out by current and former owners. A house move and the resultant downsizing means that it is time to find the Bean a new home.Vendor Score Total: 76/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Ex-McRae Family1996 Subaru Impreza UK2000Registration no. N489 SOCChassis no. JF1GC8KD3SG011698Odometer reading: 92,156MOT: Expired*Ex-McRae Subaru Impreza *Family verified*Comprehensive history file*Partially restoredTo view a video of this lot please click hereThe Subaru Impreza UK2000 is a UK-market specific model of Impreza that is sought-after by enthusiasts for its thrilling driving experience, history and links to the world of rallying. For the model year 1996 only 131 UK2000 Imprezas were first registered for sale, and this example is particularly special as it was owned by the McRae Family between 1996-1999. The vendor has confirmation on file from both Alister and Jimmy McRae that this car was their family run around for three years, and both of them and Colin frequently drove the car. This is a rare opportunity to acquire an iconic GC8 Subaru with ownership by two British rally champions and one world champion, and links to arguably the most famous rally family in the world.First registered 1st of January 1996, this example is also likely to be one of the first UK2000 Imprezas to be sold. It also has matching numbers for the chassis on both the gearbox and engine, which is very rare for such an early Impreza. It is believed that the car was gifted to Jimmy or sold at a heavily reduced price. Documentation with the car includes a copy of its original bill of sale from Subaru UK as well as a V5 document with a McRae Motorsport registered address. History also includes original manuals with a stamped service book, old MOTs, tax discs, V5s and parts receipts. The service stamps for its first three years are from the dealer located near to the McRae family estate. The vendor has carried out a mechanical restoration on the car including a complete engine rebuild to standard form with new gaskets, cambelt and pumps, as well as rebuilt ancillaries. The block was checked, cleaned and honed before being rebuilt. The car is also fitted with a new factory exhaust system, a new battery, new tyres all-round and fresh fluids. The car now requires some bodywork restoration to make it road worthy again if the new owner desires, but the car is still very useable and running and driving as it should. This Subaru Impreza is a legacy to its original owners and it presents itself as an excellent investment for any collector.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 81/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1996 Fairway Driver TaxiRegistration no. N868 DMMChassis no. SCRF3B3MXTC085138Odometer reading: 104,615MOT: 05/08/2022*Dry stored example*Running and driving well*Full years MOTFootnotes:Produced between 1958 and 1997, the Austin FX4 is a British icon and is instantly recognisable around the world as a London taxi. Originally sold as an Austin between 1958 and 1982, Carbodies (also known as The London Taxi Company) proceeded to take over production of the FX4 in 1982 until it was phased out. This late 1996 example is a Fairway model which was introduced in 1989 and featured a new 2,664cc Nissan diesel engine. This improved overall performance and reliability of the FX4, and it also had other additions such as full wheelchair accessibility. Maintained to the highest of standards, this example has covered a little over 100,000 miles (which is low for a London taxi) and was retired by its owner in 2012 (and subsequently put into dry storage). Recently recommissioned, the car has been fully serviced and has a new MOT until September 2022. There is no rust on the car and the interior is also in excellent condition with its seats, headlining and walnut dash all presenting well. It is believed there are only a small number left on UK roads, so the FX4 is becoming increasingly scarce. Overall, this is a very good original example that is worthy of use every day or as an investment.Vendor Score Total: 79/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. c.1970 Bond/Reliant Reliant Bond 'Equipe Concept' PrototypeRegistration no. Not registeredChassis no. N/AOdometer reading: N/AMOT: Exempt*Very rare Reliant/Bond Equipe prototype*Never registered*Engine never fitted*Sold for restorationFootnotes:Based on the Triumph Herald, the Bond Equipe was a 2+2 sports car that was designed to be competitively priced against much more expensive rivals. First introduced in 1963 and styled by Lawrie Bond, the Equipe utilised the chassis, windscreen, scuttle assembly and the doors from the Herald, but otherwise the fibreglass body was entirely new. Offered as both a fastback GT and a convertible, the design of the Equipe was a surprisingly successful blend of subtle Herald styling cues but with a much sleeker body. After the acquisition of Bond Cars by Reliant in 1969, the company attempted a revamp of the Equipe with entirely new styling. Still using the same Triumph chassis and running gear, the idea was for the Equipe to enter the Reliant range as a junior Scimitar. Ken Wood and his bodywork team produced moulds for a new fibreglass bodyshell which would replace the mixture of Bond/Triumph panels in the original car. Sadly this never materialised, and the Bond Equipe was phased out for good in 1970. Purchased by the vendor's late husband in 1981, this car is a very rare prototype of the Bond and Reliant collaboration believed to date from 1970. Never fitted with an engine or registered, the car has been dry stored in a barn since it was purchased. The car is now being sold for restoration, offering a new custodian the opportunity to own and restore a piece of Bond and Reliant history.Vendor Score Total: 20/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Powered by a reworked version of the famous 6.75-litre Rolls-Royce V8 engine, the Arnage T was a luxury car that was deceitfully fast yet civilised when desired. First registered on 29th April 2002, this Arnage T has a low mileage and is in excellent condition. The Silver Storm paintwork presents very well and the black leather interior is also in very good order. The quality of the craftsmanship is second to none, and the diamond quilted seat stitching and engine turned polished dashboard, together with the walnut veneers are truly beautiful to the eye and to the touch. A new drophead coupé appeared at the first post-war London Motor Show in 1948: the DB18 Special Sports. Stylish in a most un-Daimler-like manner, the Special Sports featured coachwork by Barker, the latter, like Daimler and fellow coachbuilders Hooper, being one of the BSA Group's many companies. The radiator grille was now curved, the alloy-panelled coachwork more streamlined, and the Special Sports benefited from hydro-mechanical braking and a power output raised to 85bhp courtesy of twin carburettors. In short: a model combining all the usual Daimler refinements with increased performance. When DB18 production ceased in 1953, only 500-or-so of these elegant and refined Special Sports roadsters had been completed.Subject to a body off restoration, this 1952 example is finished in red over silver with a beige leather interior and a beige hood. There is a large history file included that contains its original handbook, invoices, bills, and a photographic record of the restoration. Previously domiciled overseas, the car was UK registered in January 2012 under the non-transferable registration mark 375 YUH. The car was then purchased by the previous owner who kept the car for eight years and entered it into the 2016 Tatton Park show, where it won an award for the best car (the trophy of which is included in the sale). The current owner purchased the car in 2020 since purchase there has been a further £7,500 spent on the car. This is a delightfully elegant car to be used and enjoyed.Vendor Score Total: 90/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1924 Buick McLaughlin LimousineRegistration no. DY 2320Chassis no. 60259Odometer reading: 2,706MOT: Exempt*Restored over a 25-year period*Good history*Excellent condition*Running and drivingFootnotes:Founded by Robert McLaughlin in Oshawa, Canada in 1869, the McLaughlin Motor Company was once the largest manufacturer of horse-drawn carriages in the British Empire. In 1907 the company diversified into building automobiles, and in September of that year Robert made a 15-year contract under which McLaughlin Motor Company would buy engines from Buick Motors. These cars (with the Buick powertrains) were then sold under the brand-name Buick-McLaughlin.This 1924 Buick-McLaughlin limousine is presented in a lovely red and black colour scheme with a blue and grey cloth/leather interior. It's an Elkington coach-built example, and it's powered by a 4,086cc six-cylinder engine that is said to be running and driving very well. Purchased by the vendor in an unrestored condition, the car was then restored over a 25-year period (from 1977 to 2002) to a very high standard. The car is still in an excellent condition which is a testament to the quality of restoration. There is a good history file that also displays pictures of the car before it was restored. 1970 Aston Martin DB6 Mk2 Sports SaloonRegistration no. YTD 100H (see text)Chassis no. DB6MK2/4194/ROdometer reading: 13,087MOT: Exempt*Offered without reserve*Final incarnation of the original 'DB' series of Aston Martins*Five-speed manual gearbox*Present ownership since 2008To view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:With the DB6 Mk2's introduction in June 1969, the final incarnation of the original DB Series, begun in 1958 by the DB4, had arrived. The option of AE Brico fuel injection was the most significant mechanical development, while flared wheelarches, necessitated by the adoption of the wider DBS wheels, were the most obvious. In a further effort at standardisation, DBS front seats were fitted to the DB6 Mk2, which now came with power-assisted steering as standard. Last-of-the-line models are always sought after by discerning collectors, and among Aston Martins few are more highly prized that the final flowering of the glorious 'David Brown' six-cylinder series. First registered on 24th June 1970, this DB6 Mk2 has the desirable ZF five-speed manual transmission and left the factory finished in Bahama Yellow with black interior trim. A (copy) V5C document on file shows that one Trevor Clayton acquired the Aston on 24th June 2003 and that the car previously belonged (from July 1998) to John Penn (an AMOC member). The current owner purchased the DB6 from Aston Workshop in March 2008, at which time it had already been repainted red (copy invoice on file). 'YTD 100H' is listed in the HPI database; nevertheless, prospective purchasers must satisfy themselves with regard to this vehicle's registration status prior to bidding. Sold strictly as viewed and lacking original registration documents, the car will require re-commissioning and registering before further use. 1964 Alvis TE21 DropheadRegistration no. JTW 29Chassis no. 27200Odometer reading: 40,000MOT: Exempt*An immaculate example*Fully restored*Low mileage with just two owners from new*Comprehensive historyTo view a video of this lot please click hereFounded in 1919 and sadly defunct in 1967, Alvis Motor Company specialised in traditionally styled and coach-built luxury cars. With a Rolls-Royce standard of finish, Alvis quickly magnetised an up-market following which included the likes of Prince Philip and Sir Douglas Bader. Introduced in 1963, the Alvis TE21 is an exquisite sports saloon that was also available in the form of a Drophead Coupé. Styled by Graber of Switzerland and built by Mulliner Park Ward, only 352 TE21s were originally produced – adding an air of exclusivity. This 1964 example is a Drophead Coupé bodied by Park Ward. First registered to a Mrs. J. T. Waddilove of Purley, Surrey on 12th November 1964, the car was ordered direct from the 1964 Motor Show (with the supplying dealer being Jack Barclay Limited of Berkley Square, London). The original sales invoice records show it was supplied with the current registration number 'JTW 29', power steering, chrome wire wheels, anti-freeze, and a full tank of petrol. Used by the Waddilove family until 1975, the car was sadly laid up in dry storage until 2008 whereby it was discovered and purchased by the current owner. After such a long period of inactivity, the Alvis required an extensive restoration. This included a bare metal strip down and repairs to the coachwork which was undertaken to a very high standard. Photographs in the history file show the Alvis stripped to the bare metal and entering the Aston Martin Heritage Centre works in Newport Pagnell. Although prior to the restoration the engine started and ran well, the vendor decided to convert the cylinder head to unleaded fuel specifications for greater usability. The restoration was carried out over several years, and the car was refinished in its original colour combination of Beige Metallic (resprayed by Grimshaw and Wake Ltd) and beige leather trim (renewed by Trimming Services of Cobham). The interior, with its leather and walnut dashboard and fittings, is largely original and in excellent condition. This is an incredibly elegant car that represents one of the finest and most authentic T-Series Alvis's available on the market.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 83/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Property of a deceased's estate1949 Daimler DE36 Limousine ProjectCoachwork by Hooper & CoRegistration no. KDU 487Chassis no. to be advisedOdometer reading: TBCMOT: Exempt*5.5-litre straight eight engine*Last on the road in 1987*Offered for restorationFootnotes:Bodied by Hooper & Co, London-based carriage makers to Queen Victoria and King Edward VII, and arguably the finest of all British coachbuilders, this Daimler DE36 straight eight limousine boasts an overall length of 18' 6' and a very large boot, and weighs approximately three tonnes. 'KDU 487' was purchased by the late owner in 1987 and has been in dry storage since then without undergoing any restoration. Original to the chassis, the engine was last running in 1990. We are advised that the starter motor needs refurbishment and that the original radiator surround is in very good order. The pre-selector gearbox was functioning when the vehicle was last moved in 1987. The bodywork is mostly aluminium with steel front wings, and has two covered spare wheels mounted on the front wings. The front and rear bumpers are in good order and just need re-plating. The door hinges and door fittings have dropped, and the adjustable windscreen glass is broken but the mechanism is workable. The Lucas P100 headlights are undamaged. Overall, the coachwork needs attention but is un-corroded.Upholstered in cloth with wood trim, the interior has a glass division between the front and rear compartments, while there are three occasional seats (in good order) attached to the front seat back. The dashboard and instrumentation will need attention and probably some replacement, while the steering wheel needs re-covering.Vendor Score Total: 34/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Powered by the same 1.8-litre naturally aspirated 16v engine as the Clio 16v, the Renault 19 was praised by journalists for its handling and responsive engine, and as a result it won the What Car? Hot Hatchback of the Year Award in 1990.This 1991 car is an excellent example that has a low mileage of just 61,000 miles. It's believed that there are only 10 Renault 19 16vs left on UK roads, and this is a very original example. It's history file is exceptional and includes its initial invoice from Renault dealer 'GT Cars Nottingham'. It also has a full service history and an MOT expiry in March 2022. Finished in Renault Sport 449 Blue, the car has been meticulously well looked after by its current keeper and has been professionally restored. Recent work on the car includes new tyres, a new fuel tank, exhaust, cam belt and much more. It has six previous keepers from new, and there's also a V5 in the vendor's name. The car is believed to be very solid and the history file comes with photo documentation of its restoration. The car also includes many original features such as its original stereo and Renault anti-theft blanking plate. The prototype, coded '200EX', first appeared in 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show, with the almost unaltered production model making its debut later that year at Frankfurt. This new 'entry-level' Rolls-Royce was based on the contemporary BMW 7-Series platform and intended to compete with Bentley's Flying Spur and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The Ghost was powered by a 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, which delivered its 562bhp via a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox, and despite its not inconsiderable weight (5,490lb) could race to 60mph (97km/h) in 4.7 seconds on its way to an electronically limited maximum speed of 155.3mph. Finished in black with Seashell Cream interior, this one-owner Ghost has covered a mere 3,145 miles from new and is presented in commensurately good condition. 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series I 'Roadster'Registration no. GBD 464CChassis no. 1E20816Odometer reading: 3,988MOT: Exempt*Fully restored in 1999*Engine also rebuilt in 1999*Original RHD carFootnotes:The Jaguar E-Type is one of the most iconic sports cars ever produced, and it's famous the world around for its beautiful design and impressive driving dynamics. Upon its introduction in 1961, the Series I made a shockwave in the sports car sector with its sub seven second 0-60 time and 150mph top speed – all offered at a competitive price. Today the Series I is the most sought after of the three generations, largely due to its honest design which was later adjusted to comply with safety regulations. This 1965 Series I E-Type 4.2 is presented in a beautiful red colour scheme which presents well with the black leather interior. Originally a coupe, this example was previously converted to a roadster, however it is known to be an original right-hand drive car. It was fully restored in 1999 with parts supplied by M&C Wilkinson, and it also had a full engine rebuild during the same year by VSE. This rebuild included a new unleaded head with the addition of GAZ shock absorbers, four pot brakes, a Kenlowe fan, and a new synchromesh gearbox. A good history file is also included with the car (with details post-1999) which displays extensive bills and invoices for the restoration which totalled £50,000. 1952 MG TDRegistration no. YXG 354Chassis no. TD23207Odometer reading: 607 since restorationMOT: Exempt*Restored example*Covered just 600 miles since restoration*Recommissioned circa 2015Footnotes:The MG TD was introduced in 1950 and featured multiple upgrades over its TC predecessor including a newer chassis from the Y-Type, independent front suspension, a hypoid-geared rear axle, hypoid-differential, and a new transmission. The additions were said to completely transform the driving experience of the car compared to its TC predecessor, therefore moving the car forward significantly. This 1952 TD is a restored example that is presented in a beautiful cream colour scheme with a green leather interior. Prior to 2015 there is little history of the car, however it is noted that the car was recommissioned and re-registered that same year. Overall the car is in a very good condition and the paintwork, bodywork and interior all present very well. This is a fine example that is ready to be driven and enjoyed by a new owner.Vendor Score Total: 75/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1959 Triumph TR3A RoadsterRegistration no. 1920 DAChassis no. TS550710Engine no. TS55105EOdometer reading: TBCMOT: Exempt*Fully matching numbers*Formerly part of a large private collection in Ireland*Present ownership for the last four yearsFootnotes:Simply constructed, practical to own and offering 100mph-plus performance at a bargain price, the Triumph TR2 was an enormous success both at home and abroad so it was only to be expected that its successor would represent evolution rather than revolution. Introduced in October 1955, the TR3 was indeed little different from the TR2; changes to the Standard Vanguard-derived 2.0-litre engine boosted power from 90 to 95bhp but the most obvious difference was the adoption of an 'egg box' radiator grille. By mid-1956 the engine developed 100bhp courtesy of a new cylinder head; then, in August, Girling front disc brakes and the stronger Phase III Vanguard rear axle were standardised. Cosmetically revised but mechanically indistinguishable, the TR3A was phased in during 1957. New front-end styling featured a full-width grille incorporating sidelights/indicators, and for the first time there were locking door and boot handles plus an improved interior. This original UK-delivered TR3A comes with a Heritage Certificate confirming its matching numbers and the original registration number. Overdrive, wire wheels, a stainless steel exhaust, and full weather equipment are notable features of a car that has had only four owners and 49,000 miles from new. The Triumph spent many years in a large private collection in Dublin before its purchase by the vendor four years ago. 1969 Bond Equipe ConvertibleRegistration no. TOT 786HChassis no. n/aOdometer reading: TBCMOT: Exempt*Barn find Equipe Convertible*Sold for restoration*Single ownership since 1976*Solid bodyFootnotes:Based on the Triumph Herald, the Bond Equipe was a 2+2 sports car that was designed to be competitively priced against much more expensive rivals. Bought by the late vendor's husband in 1976, this 1969 convertible example has been dry stored in a barn since it was purchased over 45 years ago. Today the car has not been used for some time and is now being sold for restoration. The fibreglass body has held up remarkably well over the years and is solid, and the interior is also in a surprisingly presentable condition. The car is overall complete and comes with some history including its V5 log book. 1948 Jaguar Mark IV 3½-Litre Drophead CoupéRegistration no. HWR 875Chassis no. 617175Engine no. 54459Odometer reading: 18,532MOT: Exempt*One of only 46 survivors of 184 RHD 3½-Litre dropheads built*Present ownership since 1982*Maintained and kept in running orderTo view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:Told by the post-war government to 'export or die', the British motor industry responded valiantly, none more so than Jaguar, soon to become the UK's biggest US dollar earner. Indeed, Jaguar's Mark IV drophead coupé was built almost exclusively for export, the majority being allocated to the USA. Production spanned little more than a year (1947-1948) during which only 184 Mark IV 3½-Litre drophead coupés were built in right-hand drive configuration plus a further 317 LHD cars, 49 of which were delivered in 'Complete Knocked Down' (CKD) form. In his definitive book on the marque: SS & Jaguar Cars, written in association with Jaguar Heritage using their detailed archives, Allan Crouch states that there are only 46 right-hand drive 3½-Litre drophead coupés left in the world, making this exclusive variant among the rarest of all Jaguar's post-WW2 production cars. This 3½-litre Mark IV was in pristine working order when it was purchased by the current owners in 1982 following its 'Car of the Year' award at London's Earls Court Motor Show. Over the course of the last 39 years the Jaguar has been maintained and kept in running order, including extensive work in 2003 that included a complete engine overhaul and a new exhaust system. More recently the clutch was replaced, since when the Mark IV has been used for a number of family weddings. It has seen very little use in recent times and is sold strictly as viewed.Vendor Score Total: 62/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1970 Land Rover Series IIARegistration no. SUR 398JChassis no. 24139946GOdometer reading: 26,500MOT: Exempt*Fully restored*Lovely Limestone colour scheme*Low mileageFootnotes:Officially unveiled in 1958, the Land Rover Series II was the first Land Rover to be officially styled by a design team headed by David Bache. The Series II was effectively a facelift of the Series I, but the styling was much more sophisticated and modern. Bache and his team added many features that are recognisable today on a modern Defender, such as its rounded roof and 'barrel side' bodylines. Differences between the Series II and the Series IIA are minor and difficult to distinguish, but the IIA was introduced in 1961 and updates included two new 2.25-litre petrol and diesel engines. For 1969, the headlamps were also moved to the wings, and this is a feature that is most recognisable on modern Defenders. This 1970 Series IIA is an immaculate example that has recently been fully restored to a very high standard. It is presented in a stunning Limestone colour scheme with a black vinyl interior, and the engine is also in excellent condition (and said to be running and driving well). The bodywork and interior also present very well, and the mileage is low for an old Land Rover at just 26,500 miles. This is an excellent and usable example with good history to go with it.Vendor Score Total: 98/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1921 Seagrave 12-Litre Fire EngineRegistration no. to be advisedChassis no. 27627Odometer reading: 8,734MOT: Exempt*Built by the USA's oldest fire-fighting equipment manufacturer*Ex-City of Jackson Fire Department*Imported into the UK in 2015*Used for local rallies and eventsTo view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:The oldest manufacturer of fire-fighting apparatus in the USA, the Seagrave company was founded in Detroit, Michigan in 1881 by carpenter Fredric Seagrave, whose breakthrough product was a ladder of superior design and construction. Seagrave moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1891, and in 1902 introduced a spring-raised aerial ladder that did away with the need for human muscle-power to erect it. This device was widely copied and Seagrave continued to innovate, introducing a motorised front-wheel-drive fire appliance in 1915, replacing the traditional horse-drawn and steam-powered vehicles. Seagrave remained in Columbus until 1963 when it moved to Clintonville, Wisconsin following its purchase by FWD, another company with a rich history in producing fire apparatus under its own brand. FWD had been founded in 1909 as the Four Wheel Drive Automobile Company, and quickly established itself as the foremost manufacturer of heavy-duty chassis for both military and commercial applications. Seagrave remains in Clintonville today and continues produce a comprehensive range of fire-fighting apparatus. Formerly in service with the Fire Department in the City of Jackson, Mississippi, this magnificent Seagrave fire engine was imported and registered in the UK in 2015, since when it has been used for various local rallies and events while in the current ownership. It comes fully equipped with ladders, hoses, etc, and we are advised that the 12-litre six-cylinder engine starts and runs very well. VF320CDK225101669Odometer reading: 116,000MOT: 24/02/2022*Pre-Production Prototype*Original example*Good history*Rare factory yellow paintFootnotes:The Peugeot 205 GTI is an iconic French hot hatchback that is thought of very highly by enthusiasts. First introduced in April 1984, the 205 GTI became a quick success due to its playful nature and peppy 105bhp 1.6-litre engine. The combination of a 900kg car that could do a 0-62mph run in just 8.7 seconds was staggering at the time, and later on in 1986 a faster GTI was launched with a new 1.9 engine. This boosted the power to 130bhp, thus lowering the 0-60 to an even more impressive 7.8 seconds. This 205 GTI is one of the rarest in existence as it was the only GTI that was factory produced in yellow. It comes from a private collection and it's only outing in the last twelve years was to be displayed at the Classic Car Show at the NEC in 2014 where Classic Car Weekly selected it as one of the top six cars of the 1,700 on displayThis 1992 example is a later 1.9 GTI that is an exceptionally rare pre-production prototype. The car is finished in this striking yellow paint which is also reported to be the only of its kind to have been painted this colour from factory. Overall, the car is in a very good condition, and it has been displayed at the Peugeot stand at the Classic Motor Show NEC in 2014. It also comes equipped with its original handbook, a selection of old MOTs, and a recently fitted stainless steel exhaust. The specification is very high as the car is equipped with factory air conditioning, leather seats, large sunroof etc. This is an original and rare example.Vendor Score Total: 87/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1921 Vauxhall 14/40hp M-Type Princeton TourerRegistration no. BF 6712Chassis no. M730Odometer reading: 37,524MOT: Exempt*An ideal 'entry level' Vintage sports car*Imported from Australia in 2013*Running wellFootnotes:For 1922 Vauxhall matched its great rival - the Sunbeam company of Wolverhampton - in offering an alternative, smaller and less expensive alternative to its top-of-the-range 30/98: the 2.3-litre 14/40hp M-Type. Similar in looks to the larger 30/98, the latter featured a four-cylinder detachable-head engine; in-unit three-speed gearbox (instead of the separate four-speed type of the larger models); a single-plate clutch; and rear-wheel brakes only. It sold for around £750 against some £1,600 for the 30/98 but was built to the same high standard. From 1925, by which time it was being built to improved 'LM' specification, the 14/40 adopted a four-speed gearbox and for 1926 gained front-wheel brakes. Top speed increased to 65mph from the preceding M-Type's 55-60mph. An ideal 'entry level' Vintage sports car, this 14/40 Princeton tourer was imported from Australia and registered in the UK on 1st December 2013. (The Society of Automotive Historians has confirmed that it was built in 1921, although it is often thought that manufacture commenced in 1922.) The car benefits from two new tyres; a recently rebuilt carburettor; relined fuel tank; and a new speedometer cable (a newly sourced drive pinion is ready to fit). The dynamo is not charging but we are advised that the battery is healthy. Running well, this handsome Vintage-era Vauxhall is offered with a quantity of spares. 1913 Lancia-Simplex Two-seater Sports ProjectRegistration no. DS 8209Chassis no. 1911Odometer reading: N/AMOT: Exempt*Lancia Theta chassis and Simplex 9,750cc engine*Built by John Brydon and successfully completed the *1990 London to Peking Motor Challenge*Last raced at Mallory Park in 2003 Footnotes:This wonderful Edwardian 'special' was constructed in its present two-seater form in 1989 by John Brydon, VSCC stalwart and Edwardian-era guru. The basis of the car is a 1913 Lancia Theta chassis complete with 1913 Packard front axle, into which has been transplanted a 1912 Simplex engine, transaxle and rear axle. The Simplex engine is a 9,750cc four-cylinder with T-head (sidevalve) configuration, and the three-speed transmission drives the rear axle by twin chains. Built specifically to compete in the London to Peking Motor Challenge in 1990, the car was constructed to look like the Bearsley Simplex of 1910 (picture on file). The Lancia-Simplex successfully completed this demanding event of over 10,000 miles across two continents, during which it consumed 1,700 gallons of petrol, 86 gallons of oil, and 28 tyres! There is an amusing note from John Brydon on file, stating that during the event they 'lost on the way the foot brake, second gear and first wife'! The Lancia-Simplex was then used in VSCC events and last saw action in the Edwardian Race at Mallory Park in 2003. The cylinder blocks were then removed from the crankcase with the intention of fitting new pistons; they appear to have been re-bored and the set of new pistons are included in the sale. Offered with a V5C registration document and VSCC Buff Form, this is a most exciting project. GNT 170MChassis no. 5754801Odometer reading: 3,500kmMOT: Exempt*Recently restored*Engine & gearbox service*New canvas hood*Four new tyresFootnotes:Named after the Pinzgauer, an Austrian breed of horse, the Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer is an all-terrain off-road military vehicle that has been popularly used across the globe. Originally available in 4x4 or 6x4 configurations, the Pinzgauer was produced between 1971 and 2000 by Steyr-Puch. However in 2000 the company was taken over by a UK firm which was then merged into BAE Systems, where it was then built in Guildford, UK until 2007. This example is an Austrian-built 1978 example that has been fully restored to a very high standard. Recent mechanical work includes a full engine and gearbox service, new brakes, new ignition, new starter motor, a steering refurbishment, new batteries and a new alternator. Externally, the Pinzgauer has also received a new tan double duck canvas hood, new LED lighting front and rear, overhauled seats (with new bench), new door mirrors, rubber floor mats, a tow bar, and much more. All the work has been undertaken by Pinz specialists, and all the parts were imported from Graz, Austria. The bodywork is in excellent condition and was reworked and resprayed in Peppermint green at a cost of over £20,000. The vehicle was imported to the UK in 2012 and is accompanied with a small history file. This is a very versatile vehicle that offers seating for up to 10 passengers. 1923 Austin Seven 'Chummy' TourerRegistration no. BP 8020Chassis no. A11658Engine no. M1682Odometer reading: TBCMOT: Exempt*Very early and correct example*Restored by Austineers in 1989/1990*Offered for sale by VSCC and VCC stalwart, Paul Tillian To view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:A huge success from the moment deliveries commenced in January 1923, the Austin Seven remained in production until 1939. Simple in construction, economical, and easily maintained by the home mechanic, the Seven brought motoring within the financial reach of the man in the street. Its introduction helped save the ailing Austin concern and by the mid-1920s the Seven dominated the light car market in Britain. The range of models on offer had expanded greatly by the decade's end, but the sole version available when production commenced was the 'Chummy', which for many enthusiasts remains the quintessential Seven and is highly sought after. Owned for many years by VSCC and VCC stalwart, Paul Tillian, the current vendor, this early example was restored by Austineers in 1989/1990. Photographs taken prior to restoration are on file and the car also comes with an original handbook, spares book, sales brochure, and a quantity of notes and correspondence. In 1995 this car featured in The Times newspaper (Saturday 11th March edition) in an article by Lord Montagu of Beaulieu entitled 'The first motor for the millions' (press cutting on file). Still on beaded-edge tyres, this charming Austin Seven is in beautiful condition - you don't often see them this good and correct. A rare jewel, the car is only offered for sale because Paul's arthritis means he is no longer able to enjoy it. A superb history file accompanies the car, including various rare original Austin 7 publications; spares include a correct magneto type Austin 7 engine, gearbox and Scintilla Magneto.Vendor Score Total: 82/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1930 Ford 3.3-Litre Roadster with DickeyRegistration no. BF 5790Chassis no. CA65201Odometer reading: TBCMOT: Exempt*Canadian delivered car*Original right-hand drive model*Ideal for VSCC trials and Vintage Hot Rod Association eventsFootnotes:Replacement for the ubiquitous Ford Model T, the Model A went on sale in December 1927. A more complex car than its predecessor, the 'A' was also more powerful, its four-cylinder sidevalve engine producing 40bhp - double the output of the T - which was good enough for a top speed of 65mph. A three-speed sliding gear transmission replaced the T's planetary gears; there was coil-and-battery instead of magneto ignition; and at last there was a brake for each wheel. The T's ungainly styling was abandoned, and the eagerly awaited Model A's up-to-the-minute looks, choice of colours and, needless to say, competitive pricing helped ensure its success. After two years in production the Model A was face-lifted for 1930, receiving wider tyres on smaller-diameter (19') wheels and being mildly restyled with wider mudguards to achieve a lower, more modern look. Model A sales peaked in 1929 when more than 1.4 million were sold, and production continued until the V8's arrival in 1932 saw Ford's four-cylinder car renamed 'Model B'.This Canadian delivered, original right-hand drive Model A was purchased by the enthusiast vendor in February 2019. Formerly maintained by specialists Belcher Engineering, the car benefits from a cylinder block repair and is running and driving well. An alternator and 12-volt electrics are sensible upgrades. Ideal for VSCC trials and Vintage Hot Rod Association events, the car is offered with sundry bills and a V5C document. The epitome luxury at the time of its release, the Silver Shadow was in production for 15 years between 1965-1980 and proved extremely popular for a vehicle at this price point. This 1979 example is a Silver Shadow II, which boasted multiple improvement upon its release in 1977 which included rack and pinion steering and an updated front suspension to improve handling. Presented in Le Mans Blue with a cream leather interior, this example is presented in a very good condition and has a low mileage of just 88,000 miles. WDB1400502A209189Odometer reading: 115,123MOT: 19/05/22*Recent respray*Full logbook*Recent service*MOT expiry May 2022Introduced in April 1991, the W140 generation of S-Class was a significant leap forward compared to its W126 predecessor. The purchase cost was 25% higher than before, however the price was justified as the W140 is one of the most well-engineered cars to ever be produced by Mercedes. There were many innovations (which are now common place on most modern cars), and this includes double glazed windows, a soft-closing boot lid and doors, xenon headlamps, rain sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control, and much more. The W140 also had a good selection of refined yet powerful engines to choose from, and at one point a V16 engine was almost developed for the W140. This 1994 example is an S500 model which is equipped with the renowned 5.0-litre V8 engine that produces 315bhp and 347lbft of torque. It is presented in very good condition throughout and the body has just received a respray. The car comes equipped with a full log book and is reported to be running and driving well. A recent service and MOT has also recently been carried out with expiry in May 2022. A full HPI check has been undertaken on the car which has reported it as a Category D, C and N during its lifetime. This is a lot of car for the money however and it is currently in a very good condition.Footnotes:Introduced in April 1991, the W140 generation of S-Class was a significant leap forward compared to its W126 predecessor. 2017 Porsche Macan GTSRegistration no. to be advisedChassis no. Bearing a strong resemblance to both the Panamera and Cayenne, Porsche's Macan high-performance luxury SUV commenced production in 2014. It shared its basic all-wheel-drive platform with the Audi Q5, though the engine, transfer case, body, and interior were unique to the Macan. V6 engines, both petrol and diesel, were fitted to most models, while a turbocharged inline four was available also. All variants were equipped with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission. Powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine, the GTS model, as seen here, was announced as an addition to the range in 2015. A one-owner example, this Macan GTS has covered a mere 1,255 miles from new and is presented in commensurately excellent condition. The car is finished in Volcano Grey with two-tone Mojave Beige and black leather interior. Notable features include the 21' Turbo alloy wheels upgrade; brushed aluminium package; leather-coloured rev counter; leather-coloured Sport Chono package; aluminium roof rails; contrasting interior stitching; and a Bose hi-fi system. This pristine modern Porsche is offered with its driver's manual and service booklet, the latter stamped at 1,015 miles for a running-in service that included new spark plugs and an engine oil change.Vendor Score Total: 99/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1933/1934 American Austin 'Woodie' Station WagonRegistration no. In its first incarnation the company offered a roadster and various coupés before going into receivership. Only after reorganisation in 1937 did it offer a station wagon. When this Woodie was offered at a Hershey auction in October 2013, its catalogue description stated that the car had been 'assembled by an American Austin enthusiast that (sic) used a coupe as a platform', while another document states that the car was restored by Arthur Rabstein of Toms River, New Jersey. The restored Woodie featured in the July/August 1995 edition of The Antique Automobile, with a front cover photograph and report inside. In April 2014 the car was offered for sale by Classic Cars and subsequently sold. The current owner purchased the Woodie from Treasured Motors. The car was imported into the UK in October 2015 and registered by the DVLA on 1st December 2015. Now after six years of ownership, during which time the Woodie was driven just over 800 miles (mainly on Austin Seven Club holidays and to local car shows), the vendor feels it is time for it to give pleasure to a new custodian. 1956 Porsche A122 Straddle TractorRegistration no. not registeredChassis no. 4354Odometer reading: N/AMOT: Exempt*Twin-cylinder diesel engine of 22 horsepower*Sympathetically restored recently*'On the button'To view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:Dr Ferdinand Porsche's design consultancy built a handful of prototype tractors prior to WW2, the first of which were powered by petrol engines, before turning to diesel power, eventually developing a series of one-, two-, three- and four-cylinder air-cooled engines ranging in output from 14 to 55bhp. After the war's end Porsche was barred from producing its own tractors (only companies that had been making tractors prior to and during the war were permitted to do so) and thus was forced to license its designs to other manufacturers. In 1954 Mannesmann AG diversified into tractor manufacture by acquiring the rights to Porsche's engine and Allgaier GmbH's tractor design, setting up Porsche-Diesel Motorenbau GmbH. In 1956 Mannesmann built a new manufacturing facility at the old Zeppelin factory in Friedrichshafen-Manzell where Porsche tractors continued to be built until production ceased. Over 125,000 tractors were manufactured between 1956 and 1963, many of which were exported, Porsche's agricultural products enjoying the same reputation for sound engineering and superb build quality as their road-car relatives. This Porsche A122 Straddle Tractor is powered by a twin-cylinder diesel engine producing 22bhp. Sympathetically restored recently, incorporating some original parts, it is presented in excellent condition and is 'on the button'. We are advised that the vehicle also benefits from a few minor modifications to make daily use easier.Vendor Score Total: 94/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. The 820 Si was added later in 1988, and it was fitted with Rover's 2.0-litre naturally aspirated 16v four-cylinder petrol engine developing 131bhp.With a styling similar to the SD1, this 1990 820 Si is a fastback model that has a very low mileage of just 26,200 miles. It's presented in a very good condition both inside and out, and the 2.0-litre engine is said to be running and driving well. There is also a large history file. 1955 Jaguar XK140 RoadsterRegistration no. 968 XVPChassis no. 810763DNOdometer reading: 41,880MOT: 11/03/2022*Despatched new to the USA*Professionally restored in the UK between 2018 and 2021*Converted from left- to right-hand driveTo view a video of this lot please click hereNewly introduced for 1955, the Jaguar XK140 was broadly similar to, though more refined than, its sensational XK120 predecessor, major engineering changes being confined to repositioning the 3.4-litre six-cylinder engine 3' further forward and the adoption of rack-and-pinion steering. Performance was well up to the standards set by the XK120, contemporary road-tests regularly recording top speeds in excess of 120mph. Its accompanying Jaguar Heritage Certificate reveals that this XK140 roadster was manufactured in left-hand drive configuration and despatched in January 1955 to Jaguar's East Coast USA distributor Max Hoffman in New York. The XK was equipped with the desirable overdrive gearbox and left the Brown's Lane factory finished in Battleship Grey with red interior trim and Gunmetal soft-top. The vendor purchased the car from a friend of his while it was undergoing restoration by Nostalgia Cars UK of Taunton, Devon. Classic Connection of Hampshire duly completed the restoration, which included conversion to right-hand drive and engine rebuild, and all bills totalling some £175,000 are available together with a photographic record of the works carried out. The rebuild commenced in 2018 and was only completed earlier this year. Running and driving well, this professionally restored Jaguar XK140 roadster comes complete with weather equipment and a comprehensive history file containing, among other paperwork, an old-style logbook; a V5C document; a recently expired MoT (car is exempt); and the aforementioned restoration records. Purchased by the vendor's late husband in 1978, this example is presented as a project and offers excellent potential. The paintwork is tired, but the body is overall solid and complete having been stored in the very barn it was found for much of its life. They are generally very solid with their fibreglass body and Ford-sourced powertrains that help them to stand the test of time. This 1975 GTE is a manual example with overdrive that's powered by a 2,994cc Ford Essex V6. Earliest known surviving1984 Peugeot 205 GTiRegistration no. A181 AKYChassis no. VF3741C66E5246328Odometer reading: 52,984MOT: TBC*Low mileage 205 GTI*Good history*Believed to be earliest surviving 205GTI in UKFootnotes:The Peugeot 205 GTI is an iconic French hot hatchback that is thought to be one of the best ever produced. First introduced in April 1984, the 205 GTI became a quick success due to its playful nature and peppy 105bhp 1.6-litre engine. A 900kg hatchback that could do a 0-62mph run in just 8.7 seconds was staggering at the time, and as a result the car was a hit with young drivers and enthusiasts the like. This 1984 example is thought to be one of the oldest known surviving 205 GTIs in the UK. It has a fully stamped service book dating to when it was new, and it also comes equipped with its original owner's handbook. With the history file there is also a selection of old MOTs, and the car has recently been mechanically recommissioned after a period of dry storage. This is an original, early example with a low mileage of just 52,894 miles.Vendor Score Total: 88/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1934 Bentley 3½-Litre Drophead CoupéCoachwork by Park WardRegistration no. CG 9065Chassis no. B115BLEngine no. N4BOOdometer reading: TBCMOT: Exempt*Present ownership since 1968*Known ownership history from new*An older (1990s) restoration by FiennesTo view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:The current vendor purchased this 3½-Litre Derby Bentley in October 1968, his name being recorded in the '3rd Change' section of the accompanying old-style buff logbook. Issued in 1959, the logbook also records a change of engine from the original 'T5BH' to 'N4BO' in August 1961. Interestingly, 'B115BL' was originally scheduled for bodying as a saloon by Vanden Plas, as indicated on the copy build sheets on file. The original customer was Bradley Mathew & Son, who ordered the Bentley for the use of one W Price Esq. The vendor has researched the car's ownership history extensively, and a list of all its registered owners is on file. The Bentley was fully restored by Fiennes some 20 years ago, the whole process extending from June 1991 to October 1993, while the trimming (by Parrish Trimmers) was completed in 1994. The restoration file is around an inch thick and includes the workshop log, all invoices, and miscellaneous correspondence. The car also comes with a 3½-Litre Instruction Book (from 'B150CR'); a modern reproduction of the Service Instructions for Bentley Cars Vol. I (dated 1967); a second, 'leaning back Flying B' radiator cap; and an almost complete set of tools to include a starting handle (probably original); a jack (again probably original: it includes the long part of the handle to turn the jack mechanism, but does not have the actual T-Bar to turn it); and numerous smaller tools of Bentley or Rolls-Royce manufacture (plus a few replicas).Vendor Score Total: 89/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH.
