A 1929 Austin 7 ChummyRegistration No.WO 2621Chassis No.78700Engine No. M792204In red and black, odometer 0648 milesThe Austin 7 was going from strength to strength with improvements made to the Chummy in 1926, resulting in a more spacious car. Later the same year the brakes were enlarged to 7" for greater stopping power. During these years the 7 sold extremely well, helping Britain get mobile more than any other car had up to this point. This 1929 car has been restored in full at the turn of the millennium, and with further lesser works carried out since. The 747 engine and three-speed gearbox are in good order. 1938 MG VA 1½ two door 4 seat open tourerReg No. JMC154Car No. VA1369 Engine No. TPBG1632Dark Red with Red interior, Black Hood and Black Side screensOdometer 88625The MG VA, or MG 1½-litre as it was originally marketed, was produced by MG between February 1937 and September 1939 and was the smallest of the three sports saloons they produced in the late 1930s, the others being the SA and WA.The car used a tuned version of the push-rod, 1548cc overhead valve four-cylinder Morris TPBG type engine that was also fitted to the Wolseley 12/48 and Morris Twelve series III. The MG version had twin SU carburettors and developed 54 bhp at 4500 rpm. Drive was to the live rear axle via a four-speed manual gearbox with synchromesh on the top three ratios. Nineteen-inch wire wheels were fitted, and the 10-inch drum brakes were hydraulically operated using a Lockheed system. In-built hydraulic jacks were standard. Suspension was by half-elliptic springs all round with a live rear axle and beam front axle. Luvax shock absorbers were fitted, the rear ones adjustable from the dashboard. There were only 2,407 VA’s of all body types produced prior to production ending which ensures that these vehicles today remain rare and collectable. This car was purchased by the late deceased owner in April 2001, unfortunately no history is available although it saw regular use up until his death, no record of expenditure can be found. From the DVLA records the last pass MOT recorded was on the 28/06/2007 at a mileage of 88,118.This rare tourer presents in a sound and solid condition, having had fresh fuel and a new battery the car started instantly. It is difficult to say what restoration has been undertaken in the past however, it would appear that little extra work would be required to bring this to an excellent condition. It should be noted that the hood would benefit with replacement along with fresh carpeting to the interior.Sold with V5.IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE SALE OF CARS & MOTORCYCLES IN THIS AUCTIONCondition report: From a local deceased estate.Car runs well, although will need recommissioning as has stood for approx 2.5 years.Body and structure very good, however paintwork now showing some wear. Some panels are suffering from micro-blistering.Paint loss to bulkhead.Small chips to front of near-side wing and inside of bumper.Interior with age wear but complete - damage to edges only.Hood would need replacing.Carpets are worn and with some moth damage.Chrome generally good, with some modest tarnishing in places including to lamps.Interior panels very good.Instrument panel complete but showing some age wear.

1949 Land Rover Series One.Registration Number TAS 185,Chassis number R8666588,Engine number 866633, Odometer 37680.This Series 1, 80" left the factory in June 1949. It is in exceptional and original condition throughout with factory original gaps and no major flaws visible. No filler is evident and the panels are remarkable for a Land Rover of this age. Inner wings, engine compartment etc., are all in good order and the rear floor is straight suggesting the vehicle had only ever had light use in its 72 years.Lights are of the correct original early Lucas type and in good order. Vintage Cibie dipping spotlights were fitted at a later date. The wire hinged door tops are in exceptional condition as are the hood and framework. Lightly used Avon Traction tyres fitted. It is extremely rare to find original seats in an early Series 1. This example retains the now obsolete, original pattern vinyl with Dunlopillo foam bases. The instruments are correct and in excellent original order. The dash retains early features such as the illuminated "oil" light, red tipped 20/20 ammeter and correct and rare panel light switch. Steering wheel, bakelite horn push and dip switch assembly are complete, original and very well presented. A working Smiths heater and windscreen demister vents are non original but sympathetically fitted. A correct early single wiper is fitted. The Land Rover is also highly desirable in that it retains its original "matching numbers" engine and running gear. The 1595cc engine runs beautifully suggesting that the low recorded mileage of 37680 is pretty much correct. Our vendor is the fourth owner and has owned the vehicle for nine years. Having researched the history of this Series 1 with the two previous owners, the original owner who had it for 26 years in Sussex did an estimated 32000 miles. The second owner, an enthusiast, resprayed the Land Rover probably around 1978. That owner, lived for many years on the Isle of Mull and used the vehicle rarely on an Isle where big road trips don't happen! The only existing MOT shows mileage at 36990 on 17.12.2003. Usage with this second owner plus the third owner in Suffolk and the vendor are estimated at only 5000-6000 miles. The last three owners ensured the vehicle was stored under cover. Our opinion is that the current mileage is likely to be correct underlining the uniqueness of this Series 1.The chassis number R8666588 places this as one of the first ever deep bronze green Land Rovers and the lights behind the grille and ring-pull gearbox highlight this as an early vehicle.IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE SALE OF CARS & MOTORCYCLES IN THIS AUCTIONCondition report:Bulkhead in good condition with no apparent repairs.Chassis good.Has been re-sprayed at some point.

1960 Morgan Plus 4, Four SeaterReg No. TDR 431Chassis No. 4526 Engine No. TS67598 Gearbox No. 22208HROld English White with Blue interior piped whiteOdometer 33,700 milesFirst seen in 1950, the Morgan Plus 4 was a larger and more powerful derivative of the company's 4/4 and has remained in production on and off until 2020 when it was replaced by an all new bonded aluminium platform. Up until 1969, it was powered by the four-cylinder engines found in the Standard/Triumph range. This Morgan Plus 4 four seater is powered by the 1991cc Triumph TR3 engine fitted with twin SU H6 carburettors and is mated to a four speed gearbox. Front disc brakes fitted. There is comprehensive documentation revealing much of the vehicles history.First registered in Plymouth on the 7th June 1960 the car was ordered in Green with a black interior. At some time during its first decade the car was painted yellow. History records ownership changes through to 1989 when the then owners embarked upon a major restoration using a new body and chassis, a change of colour to its present form.More recently in 1996 the cars next owner fully rebuilt the engine including the fitting of hardened valve seats and an improved Kent camshaft.Another new owner in the early 2000’s fitted telescopic rear dampers and a Kenlowe cooling fan.The body is of the “highline” configuration with the high cowl. The car comes with a full set of side screens, a tonneau cover, owners instruction book and much history.Sold with V5.IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE SALE OF CARS & MOTORCYCLES IN THIS AUCTION

Lot 3428

A 1966 Jaguar 3.4 S type Manual + o/dReg No. LUW 411DChassis No. P1B5635DNEngine No. 7B8199-8Grey Metallic with Black leather interiorOdometer 70,689 milesThe Jaguar S-type was introduced in 1963 and was an updated version of the MKII Jaguar saloon utilising the central section of the body with new front and rear styling. The front incorporated a four lamp layout, the lower two are in board close to the central grille. The rear wings were extended in a similar style to the MK10 Jaguar. Importantly, the new floor pan layout provided for independent rear suspension which superseded the leaf sprung of the MKII.The S-type was produced from September 1963 through to July 1968 and was replaced by the short lived 420 before the introduction of the all new XJ6.This particular car was first registered on the 27th July 1966, fitted with desirable manual gearbox plus optional overdrive and power steering and painted wire wheels. The car has also been retrofitted with central locking. It appears to have had bodywork restoration in 2004, there are invoices for parts and services in the history file. The current owner has owned this vehicle for 10 years, minimal mileage has been accrued during this time as can be seen from the DVLA on line MOT history which run till April 2018, a total mileage increase of only 8,000 miles to date. This sale comes as a result of the owners health. The car appears to be in good mechanical condition, it would however benefit from some cosmetic attention. The car comes with a folder of invoices dating back to 1997, the original steering wheel is also with car should originality be required.IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE SALE OF CARS & MOTORCYCLES IN THIS AUCTIONCondition report:Runs well and was driven in.Gearbox good.Fuel dirty as it has stood for a year and is spluttering at present.

Lot 3430

A 1968 Sunbeam Alpine Series V GTReg No. NLY978FChassis No. B395016307GTODGreen with Black interiorOdometer 89,260 milesThe original Alpine of 1953 to 1955 had not sold as well as the Rootes Group had hoped, their next attempt was much more successful. At the time of the Series I Alpine’s introduction Rootes had to compete with sports cars such as the MG MGA and Triumph TR3A which were already selling well in the USA.The new Alpine of 1959 did away with a heavy chassis and utilised a modern underpan from the Hillman Husky II suitably strengthened by cruciform bracing with the then current running gear of the Sunbeam Rapier. The most distinctive design feature of this new model were the prominent tail fins on the rear wings and a modern wrap around windscreen together with wind up windows which were absent on their competitors cars. The Alpine was well received by both the press and public alike, Rootes took the opportunity to improve this design on a regular basis which ended with their final series in 1965 which continued in production until early 1968.Our car was one of the last produced and was first registered on the 1st February 1968. Being the GT model, it is fitted with an elegant hardtop, wood finish to the dashboard and +2 configuration. The GT version was sold as an upmarket model so was never fitted with the soft-top or its mechanism although many owners over the years have retro-fitted these items. The 1725cc engine with 5 main bearings is fitted together with twin semi-downdraught Zenith carburettors and has the overdrive gearbox fitted. This car underwent a major body restoration in 1990 involving professional repairs with new repair panels to all four inner and outer wings, sills and door bottoms, all finished with lead loading and finally repainted in 2 pack paint. We believe that the mileage shown is correct as the many MOT certificates on file going back to the 1970’s together with those available on line up to 2015 appear to corroborate this. Clearly, this Alpine has been much cherished by its long term husband and wife owners, the car presents very well today with minimal cosmetics required to return it to mint condition.IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE SALE OF CARS & MOTORCYCLES IN THIS AUCTIONCondition report:Car runs well.We believe colour to be original; VIN plate states 86 Forest Green. No soft top conversion.Roof easily detachable and retachable, clips are good.Vendor has owned for over 40 years and has an extensive folder of history. although very little from the 5 years. No evidence of clutch replacement.Door gaps excellent.Chassis excellent.Bodywork generally very good, some corrosion to rear window sill and top of offside wing. Some crazing to perspex quarter lights.Upholstery good, no tears or major marks.Dashboard tarnished and faded along lower edge.Yellow box in engine bay is part of electronic ignition.Chrome good with minor tarnishing only, except for the rear bumper and wheel caps which have significant tarnishing.Rubbers around windscreen with some perishing.

Lot 3432

1972 Lotus Europa Twin CamReg No. NMF2LChassis No. 72031465PBlack with Black interior (originally Lotus Yellow)Odometer 36533Lotus Europa’s were produced between 1996 and 1975, a total of 9,230 being made. They used a backbone chassis and lightweight fibreglass body which was fully bonded to the chassis for additional strength. The mounting of the engine and gearbox behind the cabin allowed for the main chassis member to run straight forward to intersect a large box-section cross-beam running across the car between the front suspension points. At the rear, the chassis split into a "U" shape to accommodate combined engine, transmission and final-drive components and to support the rear suspension. The first models used powertrains from Renault’s 16, the Twin Cam using the Lotus/Ford unit of 1588cc.This Lotus is definitely a “barn find”, found blocked up on three wheels with a new brake master cylinder in place but not connected to the pedal nor system fluid replaced. However, with fuel drained and refreshed, with the aid of a jump connection the engine fired and once cleared runs with good oil pressure.Clearly, recommissioning work will be required to return this iconic sports car to the road but this could be achieved quickly and inexpensively or alternatively be an ideal candidate for a full restoration. There is a full Lotus workshop manual with the car along with sundry bills and receipts.Sold with V5.IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE SALE OF CARS & MOTORCYCLES IN THIS AUCTIONCondition report: Fibreglass body is generally sound, but with some gel coat delamination commensurate with age.Chassis condition unknown, but car dry has been dry stored for many years.Brightwork generally very good but requires a clean.Rear bumper lightly corroded.Car runs with reasonable oil pressure.Gearbox functions, drives through all gears. No hydraulic brakes due to replacement master cylinder fitted, but not reconnected to foot pedal and requires bleeding.Battery is dead.Interior generally good but tired.Drivers electric window not working. Both doors dropped slightly on hinges.

A superbly equipped Ferrari Grand Coupe, fitted with the handling pack, just 16,500 miles and a full-service history. The 612 Scaglietti is a 5.7-litre V12, 540bhp 2+2 Grand Coupe manufactured between 2004 and 2010, and costing £182,952 (standard) new. A real sweet-spot of old-guard Ferrari 'Gran Turismo' and modern Ferrari hot shipsThe design, especially the large side scallops and the headlights, pays homage to the coach-built 1954 375 MM that director Roberto Rossellini had commissioned for his wife, Ingrid BergmanDesirable specification including Daytona seats, Scuderia Ferrari wing shields, leather diamond pattern headlining and factory-fitted HGTS (Handling GTS package), a £7,505 option2008 model-year example with just 16,500 miles with a full-service history (Ferrari & DK Engineering) and in immaculate condition; just two private owners (plus Ferrari Meridien Modena)The 612 Scaglietti was the replacement for the 456 and is larger and more spacious with serious presence, but still displays the deftness of touch of the legendary House of Pininfarina. As a mark of respect for their decades-long working relationship, Ferrari named the 612 after the legendary Sergio Scaglietti, whose famous design house 'Carrozzeria Scaglietti' was responsible for the look of some of the most stunning coachbuilt Ferraris in the fifties and sixties. The design of the 612 is said to have been inspired by the 1954 Rossellini-Bergman custom 375MM, which was commissioned by film director Roberto Rossellini for his lovely wife, the actress Ingrid Bergman. The model features deep side scallops and large headlights together with a long, sleek silhouette and the result is an imposing, unusual looking car, projecting dynamism and power. This sporty front-engined rear-wheel drive Berlinetta is a paradox Ferrari, being an energetic car to drive, yet also having four full seats for passengers, making it suitable for longer journeys and city use too. A genuine departure from previous GT models, the 612 Scaglietti's transaxle transmission sees the rear-mounted, six-speed, F1 gearbox working with the limited-slip differential in a shared function and this, combined with the first-ever all-aluminium body on a 12-cylinder Ferrari, makes for fantastic dynamics as well as improved comfort and safety. The car presented here is a 2007 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, boasting an impressive specification including Daytona seats, ‘Scuderia Ferrari’ wing shields, leather diamond pattern headlining and factory-fitted HGTS (Handling GTS package), a £7,505 option. This low mileage car, having covered a fully verifiable 16,500 miles, has wanted for nothing in terms of servicing, storage, and ownership. With a full-service history (at Ferrari main dealers and one service at marque experts DK Engineering), this car has always been garaged, used as a 2nd/3rd car and is in simply immaculate condition. A wonderful example of a carburetted, dry-sump, UK car that has been maintained well throughout its life.CEH 677T dates from March 1978 and has been enjoyed by its present owner since July 2011Considerable sums have been invested to restore the 308’s bodywork to its former gloryRepair panels to lower parts of door skins and door casings, lower parts of front wings between wheel arches and doors and the wheel archesAt 74,000 miles, a major engine and gearbox rebuild was carried out by Italia AutosportThis work included, new valves (all-steel valves replacing the original sodium-filled inlet valves), new valve guides and valve stem oil seals, valve seats re-cut, and the cylinder heads skimmedNew liners, pistons and rings, main bearings and big-end shells were fitted. New synchro-rings were fitted to all gears and all timing belts, clutch, HT-leads and various smaller items including fastenings and seals were all replacedNow showing 76,000 miles and good to go, it’s accompanied by its original toolkit and jack in their respective leather bags, the original Driver’s Handbook and the Service book which displays six service stamps from 1978 when the car was sold new until 1982This is a wonderful example of a carburetted, dry-sump, UK car that has been maintained well throughout its lifeOfficially introduced at the Paris Salon in October 1975, the 308 GTB’s styling was created by Pininfarina. The stunning two-seat coachwork was all new but incorporated some of the old magic by blending aspects of the Dino 206/246 with the later 365 GT4/BB. Styling cues from the Boxer were the dihedral groove at bumper level splitting top and bottom, the plunging nose and the sail panels reaching back to meet a shallower spoiler, whilst the conical side air intakes and recessed concave rear window were familiar from the Dino. The 308 GTB employed a tubular steel chassis with independent coil spring/wishbone suspension front and rear, complemented by anti-roll bars, adjustable dampers and powerful disc brakes. At its heart was a Formula One-derived, all-alloy, quad-camshaft, 3.0-litre V8 engine, allied to a transversely mounted five-speed gearbox.CEH 677T dates from March 1978 and has been enjoyed by just six owners, its present since July 2011. During our custodian’s ownership, considerable sums of money have been invested to restore the 308’s bodywork and bring it back to its former glory, including repair panels to lower parts of door skins and door casings, lower parts of front wings between wheel arches and doors and repairs to the wheel arches. All of this work carried out to a very high standard by Chris Gregory in Knaresborough and a full photographic record is in the car’s history file.Italia Autosport in Meltham were entrusted with the mechanical aspects of returning the Ferrari to top form and, at 74,000 miles, a major engine and gearbox rebuild was carried out by John Pogson’s team. This work included, new valves (all-steel valves replacing the original sodium-filled inlet valves), new valve guides and valve stem oil seals, valve seats re-cut, and the cylinder heads skimmed. No significant bore wear was found but the cylinder liners had belled out at their bases, therefore new liners, pistons and rings were fitted. None of the crankshaft journals was scored but new main bearing, and big-end shells were fitted in line with good engineering practice. New synchro-rings were fitted to all gears in the gearbox although none of them were worn out significantly. All timing belts, clutch, HT leads and various smaller items including fastenings and seals were all replaced at the time of the build as you would expect from such experienced engineers.Currently showing 76,000 miles, this lovely 308 is good to go. It’s accompanied by its original toolkit and jack in their respective leather bags, the original Driver’s Handbook and the Service book which displays 6 service stamps from 1978 when the car was sold new until 1982. All the invoices for service, repairs and MOTs from 1982 up to the present time are contained in a large lever-arch file.Genuine UK right-hand drive 308GTBs are becoming increasingly rare on today’s roads and after all the restoration work has been carried out, all a new owner has to do is jump in and enjoy the benefit of someone else’s efforts. This is a wonderful example of a carburetted, dry-sump, UK car that has been maintained well throughout its life.*Forming part of A Sale of Ferraris in association with Ferrari Owners' Club of Great Britain, the buyer of this lot will be entitled to one years free membership with Ferrari Owners Club of Great Britain* SpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: 308 GTBYear: 1978Chassis Number: 24823Registration Number: 24823Transmission: ManualEngine Number: F106A021Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 76500 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

Two, six-speed transmissions were available, a conventional manual gearbox and, for the first time on a Ferrari V12, Magneti Marelli's "F1" automated manual gearbox. The 575 model number refers to total engine displacement (5.75 litre), whilst the 'M' is an abbreviation of modificata as featured on the later cars, meaning “modified” in Italian. This particular car was supplied new to British rock legend, Eric Clapton, on 19-3-2003 by Maranello Sales of Egham, Surrey. It's a UK-supplied, right-hand drive, all matching numbers car finished today in its original colour combination of Giallo Fly with Nero Daytona leather upholstery. Eric has signed the service book which was a request at the time by its second owner, TV personality and Virgin radio star, Chris Evans, who acquired the car direct from Eric and kept it up until 2010. So two petrol-head celebrities provided exceptional early provenance for this particular car, before being owned by Silverstone Auctions MD, Nick Whale. Our vendor acquired this car directly from Silverstone Auctions in July 2011 at a mileage of 10,000 and has cherished it ever since throughout the car’s life. Today the mileage is 18,318 and the service history is complete and on-time throughout, warranting the indicated mileage. The original factory fitted options were: Fiorano Handling-kit 2 (factory fitted, not dealer added), Satellite navigation, interior carbon pack- including dashboard, centre-console, door trims, F1 paddles, seat sides and entry sills, Hi-fi system with sub-woofer, rear parcel shelf finished in leather, Yellow brake callipers, Scuderia wing shields and a 'Tubi' exhaust. The fastidious private owner has supplied a proper detailed history file with all information present including a full service history (including cam belts changed on time)  with mostly Ferrari main dealers and the odd respected specialist. The most recent service was conducted by Dick Lovett, Swindon in August 2019 at 18,155 miles and the car has not been used since due to Covid restrictions. It's supplied with a factory battery conditioner, original Ferrari book pack with all the service and hand books, the factory tool kit remains intact in its original leather cases and a factory car-cover is also included. There are 14 service stamps in the service book to verify the car’s mileage and perfect maintenance record, along with a current MOT (no advisories) valid until late September 2021.This remains a very attractive Ferrari with outstanding provenance to support future values, and an excellent car to use and enjoy today, knowing very few 575s - if any - can boast such an interesting backstory.*Forming part of A Sale of Ferraris in association with Ferrari Owners' Club of Great Britain, the buyer of this lot will be entitled to one years free membership with Ferrari Owners Club of Great Britain* lSpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: 575M MARANELLO F1Year: 2003Chassis Number: ZFFBT55C000130114Registration Number: RX03 KBZTransmission: AutomaticEngine Number: 71355Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 18318 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

Simply stunning, celebrity provenance and only 1,313 miles from new. One for the serious collector.Supplied new by Maranello Sales of Sevenoaks to the late TV-chef, Gary Rhodes, on 22/07/2006Superbly presented in Rosso Corsa with Nero leather, yellow calipers and Scuderia wing-shieldsOptioned from new with a 6 x CD changer, pre-wiring for a battery charger (present today), electric seats, red stitching, rear park-distance control, Challenge Stradale wheels, Carbon driving-zone, Carbon engine-bay trim, a space-saver wheel, Pirelli tyres, Yellow rev counter and 'Nav Trak'Sold by Silverstone Auctions in July 2017 showing just 558 miles. Current mileage 1,313Serviced (incl. cam belts) 2009/2013/2015 and 2016 by Lancaster Colchester, 2017 by FTech Engineering in Exeter and finally, in August 2019, by Dick Lovett in Swindon at 1,177 milesAccompanied by its original leather book pack (with all books present), factory toolkit, car cover, battery charger and an MOT valid until late August 2021Built between 2004 and 2009, the F430 was the successor to the very successful 360M. Declared as “70% new” the new engine complemented the new F1 gearbox, a new differential and a new chassis. Pininfarina and Frank Stephenson were responsible for the new design which was universally acclaimed and to prove popular with both enthusiasts and buyers. The complex variable valve-timing system was uplifted from the range topping Enzo, as was the dry-sump oil system and a very high compression ratio of 11.3:1, with a variable air flow plenum chamber and an enormous electronics brain operating not one, but two, Bosch Motronic ME7 ECU’s. All this produced an excellent 483bhp (21% more than the outgoing 360) offering 0-60mph in just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 196mph.This particular, UK-supplied, right-hand drive F1 was supplied new by Maranello Sales of Sevenoaks in Kent to the late TV chef Gary Rhodes on 22-7-2006. Gary was to remain the sole registered owner up until July 2017 when it was sold by Silverstone Auctions to our current private vendor at an amazingly low mileage of 558. Since then, our owner has kept this matching numbers example in outstanding order and regularly serviced but limited his use, so the mileage today remains exceptionally low at 1,313 in total. The factory options specified when new by Gary were: Rosso Corsa with Nero leather, Yellow calipers, a 6 x CD changer, pre-wiring for a battery charger (present today), electric seats, red stitching ,Scuderia Shields, rear park-distance control, Challenge Stradale wheels, Carbon driving-zone, Carbon engine-bay trim, a space-saver wheel, Pirelli tyres, Yellow rev counter and 'Nav Trak'.Servicing, despite the tiny mileage, has been regular and allows the mileage to be warranted as genuine with services (including cam belts) carried out in 2009/2013/2015 and 2016 by Lancaster Colchester, 2017 by FTech Engineering in Exeter and finally, in August 2019, by Dick Lovett in Swindon at 1,177 miles. The car was then driven home and not used during the COVID crisis. To find an original UK, right-hand drive car with just two owners from new, with all original panels and original paint, that has covered such a nominal mileage and with such excellent provenance is extremely rare. The Ferrari is accompanied by its original leather book pack (with all books present), factory toolkit, car cover, battery charger and an MOT valid until late August 2021. Serviced since by Graypaul Edinburgh/ Graypaul Nottingham in March of this yearThe stamped service records from these dealers support the indicated 9,900 milesSupplied with its original tool kit and full leather book pack including the all important service booklet showing the above stampsThe Ferrari F430 made its first appearance under the bright lights of the 2004 Paris Motor Show replacing Maranello’s time-served 360. The two share a rear mid-engine layout and occupy roughly the same footprint with a 102-inch wheelbase and approximately 177 inches between their bumpers, but that’s about where the similarities end.As its name implies, the F430 is powered by the new F136, a 4.3-litre, dry-sumped, V-8 which was factory-rated at 483brake-horsepower and 343 foot-pounds of torque. It was the first Ferrari V-8 to move on from engine-architecture that dated back to the single-seat racers from the 1950s. The F136 benefited directly from Scuderia Ferrari with its four-valve cylinder head and valves being sourced directly from the company’s Formula 1 programme. Performance was excellent with 62mph making an appearance in just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 196mph.The engine could be paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox with Ferrari’s signature gate or the F1 electrohydraulic six-speed automated manual. The F430 served as the debut platform for a small dial on the steering wheel to control the car’s five drive modes. The ‘Manettino’ control reconfigured the car’s stability control, its throttle response, its electronic dampers, and even its active rear differential.About six months after the Berlinetta debuted, the F430 Spider joined the line up with a neat roof panel that tucked away above the engine bay at the touch of a button. This particular Spider was first registered on the 1st of October 2007 and has been enjoyed by two keepers in total over its 14 years. It was supplied originally by Graypaul Motors Ltd of Edinburgh finished in Giallo Modena Yellow with a complementing Blu Scuro (Dark Blue) interior with Yellow stitching and a matching Blue top. The car was shipped very early on to Monaco where it was maintained by G Cavallari Monaco Motors, Ferrari Dealers in 2008/10/12/ and then 2014, returning back home and being serviced by Graypaul Edinburgh in 2016 and 2018 and lastly by Graypaul Nottingham in March of this year and the stamped service records from these dealers support the indicated 9,900 miles. The car comes with its original tool kit and full book pack including the all important service booklet showing the above stamps all within its leather bound case. SN57 FCY was specified to a high level from new and including Yellow brake calipers, a Carbon-ceramic braking system, Daytona-style heated seats and a high power Hi-Fi with subwoofer and much more. The F430 has represented fantastic value for money since the arrival of the 458 and this brightly hued 'F1' Spider with an excellent spec, impeccable main dealer history, perfect mileage and sensibly guided will inevitably sit at the top of the list for potential buyers.*Forming part of A Sale of Ferraris in association with Ferrari Owners' Club of Great Britain, the buyer of this lot will be entitled to one years free membership with Ferrari Owners Club of Great Britain*  SpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: F430 F1Year: 2007Chassis Number: ZFFEZ59C000156564Registration Number: SN57 FCYTransmission: AutoEngine Number: 123727Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 9907 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: BlueClick here for more details and images

Finished in Bianco Polo Park paintwork (20-W-152) with Rosso leatherette seats with Nero inserts and matching Rosso carpets. This particular example has been subject to a detailed restoration performed by highly-regarded marque expert, Nick Cartwright, with all invoices on file. Since the restoration, the Dino has remained in dry storage with little use and has recently received further attention from another specialist (invoice on file) to ensure that the car is presented on the button and ready to be enjoyed.Accompanied by its history file containing the detailed overhaul invoices from Nick Cartwright, further maintenance records including the recent re-commissioning for £8,000 by a regarded Ferrari specialist, a letter from Tony Willis confirming the chassis, engine and gearbox numbers match Ferrari records, images of the stamped numbers on each item, its MOT Certificate valid until May 2022 and, importantly, forming part of the sale is the tool kit which nowadays command quite a premium. In summary, this is a great opportunity to get behind the wheel of a super little V6 Ferrari GT from the 70s which ticks all the boxes being right-hand drive, matching numbers, beautifully restored and absolutely on-the-button ready to be enjoyed. With restoration projects recently changing hands for sums in excess of £200,000, we believe the guide on this example is rather appealing.*Forming part of A Sale of Ferraris in association with Ferrari Owners' Club of Great Britain, the buyer of this lot will be entitled to one years free membership with Ferrari Owners Club of Great Britain*  lSpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: 246Year: 1972Chassis Number: 04774Registration Number: FRB 359LTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 10181Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 34770 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Red LeatheretteClick here for more details and images

Lot 227

Classically presented, left-hand drive, 'M-Series' 246 Dino with lots of history and very few miles since a full engine rebuild.Built in early 1971 in left-hand drive and delivered to its first owner in RomeRemains in left-hand drive and retains its original engine, gearbox and Rosso/Nero colour schemeWhilst in Germany, was treated to a three-part restoration between 1997 and 1999 addressing all areas of the bodywork, suspension and paintwork with invoices for 16,850 DM, 5,769 DM and 2,317 EurosFull engine rebuild in 2014 (30,000 Euros - invoice in file) with very little use since Imported to the UK during March 2015 and immediately joined our vendor’s private collectionOn a 'NOVA' but the car has never been registered in the UK making export to Europe straightforwardThis pretty little M-Series is available to view by appointment and viewing is strongly encouragedThe Ferrari Dino was built to honour Alfredo 'Dino' Ferrari who died of muscular dystrophy in 1956. He was the only legitimate son of 'Il Commendatore', and unlike any previous road-going Ferrari, the Dino utilised a V6 engine (Tipo 156) which Alfredo himself had developed and advocated during his lifetime. Enzo Ferrari vehemently answered his critics when he said: "For reasons of mechanical efficiency he finally came to the conclusion that the engine should be a V6 and we accept his decision." The new Dino 246GT was an absolute delight from all angles, its beauty, handling, engine note, mid-engined layout, unusually good all-round visibility and comparative affordability made it absolutely irresistible. The voluptuous bodywork, which many people regard as the prettiest ever to grace a road-going Ferrari, was designed by Pininfarina and built by Scaglietti and covered a tubular chassis that carried wishbone independent suspension at each corner. The 190bhp engine, with four overhead camshafts, was mounted transversely behind the driver and in front of the rear axle. Power to the wheels was transmitted via drop-gears to the transverse 5-speed gearbox, in unit with the differential and engine sump. With rack and pinion steering and a mid-engined configuration, it was a revelation in terms of road holding and stability, nothing had been made like this before and it left its larger V12-engined siblings in its wake. This was a very modern car and a real step in Ferrari history announcing a new age for the company in concept and design. Sparkling acceleration and a top speed of 145mph combined with a comfortable interior and some usable boot space meant that it was a genuine 'Grand Touring' car. Proving a great sales success, production of the Dino 246 finished in 1974 with 2,487 finding homes. The 246GT was built in three series - L, M and finally E with the M-Series cars, produced between September 1970 and July 1971, being the rarest and the lovely example on offer here, is indeed, one of those M-Series cars. Finished in Rosso red with black leather upholstery, it was delivered new to its first customer in Rome in 1971 built, naturally, in left-hand drive as it remains today, pleasingly also retaining its original engine, gearbox and colour scheme. It arrived in the UK a few years ago during March 2015 and immediately joined our vendor’s private collection. A 'NOVA' was obtained clarifying that all UK taxes and duties had been paid, but the car has never been registered in the UK which could be advantageous, post-Brexit, should its new owner wish to export the Ferrari to Europe. From the car's history file we can see that whilst living in Germany, the Dino was treated to a three-part restoration between 1997 and 1999 addressing all areas of the bodywork, suspension and paintwork with invoices for 16,850 DM, 5,769 DM and 2,317 Euros during this period. It also confirms a complete engine rebuild in 2014 costing 30,000 Euros (invoice in file) with very little use since. The file shows both 'Fahrzeugbrief' and also the 'Fahrzeugpass' are present, as are copies of relevant bills for the work already described above. The Dino 246GT is an automotive Icon, a word that is nearly always incorrectly used but, in this case, is totally appropriate and this is an opportunity for someone seeking to find one at a sensible investment level, and commence a journey of continuous improvement whilst still being able to drive and enjoy the car. It's been guided with a sale in mind and, as a left-hand drive European car, it may well appeal to our immediate European neighbours. This pretty little M-Series is available to view by appointment and viewing is strongly encouraged.*Forming part of A Sale of Ferraris in association with Ferrari Owners' Club of Great Britain, the buyer of this lot will be entitled to one years free membership with Ferrari Owners Club of Great Britain* SpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: DINO 246GTYear: 1971Chassis Number: DINO2469T01514Registration Number: 2-46 GTTransmission: Manual Odometer Reading: 66500 KMMake: Interior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images

Surely the ultimate F355, an immaculate, low mileage, manual box Berlinetta with carbon seats.A UK-supplied, right-hand drive, manual gearbox, Berlinetta with gleaming Nero paintworkSuperb black/grey interior with the highly sought after carbon bucket seat optionOnly 17,500 miles at the time of cataloguing supported by a comprehensive service historyFull mechanical overhaul from front to back in 2019 at a cost of £11,000Offered with original Ferrari leather book pack, tools, V5c and an MOT valid until June 2021Of the 408 UK supplied manual F335's, just 11 had been factory finished in blackInheriting the proportions of its predecessor, the F355 was outwardly a much better-resolved proposition, both aesthetically and aerodynamically. However, beneath the fabulous styling and smoother skin, were further major advancements, including power steering, variable damping, and a 100cc engine enlargement. The longitudinally mounted 3496cc V8 generated a market-leading 380 horsepower at a spine-tingling 8,250 rpm and the gearbox now had six speeds with a revised synchromesh making gear changes so much smoother. New electronically adjustable shock absorbers varied their stiffness within milliseconds to suit the road surface and the result of all these developments was evident around Ferrari's 1.86 mile Fiorano test track when the F355 was two seconds a lap faster than the 12-cylinder 512 TR.Sitting on the cusp between analogue and digital, the F355 is considered the forerunner of all modern Ferraris and, as the last of the hand-built cars before the 360 and later descendants moved to mass production, will inevitably slip into the role of 'Classic Ferrari' with ease becoming increasingly sought after as time goes by.On offer here is a truly stunning F355 with striking black paintwork and black/grey interior including the highly sought after carbon bucket seat option. It spent a period of time, correctly stored off the road probably explaining the modest mileage of just 17,500 at the time of consignment. In 2018, it was released from storage and subjected to a complete mechanical overhaul from front to back at a cost just shy of £11,000 carried out by Ferrari specialists, AML Performance Ltd. in Macclesfield. This included; cambelt, pulleys and tensioner, clutch and clutch bearings, front and rear brakes, period-correct front and rear tyres, water pump and ancillary belts and hoses.Prior to the extensive recommissioning service, it had obviously been well looked after as is evident from the comprehensive service record including many belt changes by Ferrari main dealers, Maranello in Egham and Lancaster in Colchester. The car's most recent service was in May 2019 by Stratstone Ferrari in Wilmslow at a cost of £2,000 detailed on a copy invoice in the owner's file. In total, around £18,000 has been invested in the last nine months to return this wonderful Ferrari to the condition in which you see it today.Every iteration of the F355 is desirable, however, if you really enjoy extending your Ferrari, the Berlinetta with a manual gearbox and carbon buckets is undoubtedly the way to go. This is a really lovely example offered with its original Ferrari book pack, tools, V5c, an MOT until June 2022 and appears very sensibly guided.*Forming part of A Sale of Ferraris in association with Ferrari Owners' Club of Great Britain, the buyer of this lot will be entitled to one years free membership with Ferrari Owners Club of Great Britain* SpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: F355Year: 1996Chassis Number: ZFFPR41C000103186Registration Number: N711 WPFTransmission: ManualDrive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 17500 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Grey

Lot 230

Ordered new at H.R Owen, London in 1972, this right-hand drive “E-Series” Dino has room for cosmetic improvement. Matching numbers.**Confirmed matching body, gearbox and engine numbers.**Ordered through H.R. Owen, London in 1972 and supplied via Maranello Concessionaires Ltd., Surrey in April 1973Originally supplied in Blu Scuro (Dark Blue 20.A.357) with Beige leather (VM 3234) interior at a total cost of £4,556.00The history file includes previous blue logbooks, main dealer service receipts, archive order forms and historical MOTsThe odometer reading is 49,800 miles (atoc) corroborated by the historical invoices, showing the car has had little use in recent yearsThis car offers a unique opportunity to enhance the bodywork whilst re-instating the original dark blue paint as suppliedThe Dino’s voluptuous bodywork, which many people regard as the prettiest ever to grace a road-going Ferrari, was designed by Pininfarina and built by Scaglietti and covered a tubular chassis which carried wishbone independent suspension at each corner. The compact, four-cam engine which delivered 190bhp, was mounted transversely above the five-speed gearbox and just ahead of the rear axle, allowing for both a comfortable cockpit and some usable boot space. The Dino was established as the international playboy’s car of choice when it starred in the 1971 TV series “The Persuaders!”, the opening credits featuring a race on the Cote D’Azur between Tony Curtis’ Dino and Roger Moore’s Aston Martin DBS, now regarded as an iconic piece of footage, capturing the very essence of what these cars are all about. The 246 Dino was hugely successful but just 488 246 GT Dinos were produced in right-hand drive, one of which was this E-Series car, chassis #06098. Ordered through H.R. Owen, London in 1972 and supplied via Maranello Concessionaires Ltd., Surrey in April 1973 at a total cost of £4,556, seemingly modest compared to the £15,000 price of a contemporary Rolls-Royce Corniche Coupe. This Dino was supplied in the very rare colour of Blu Scuro (Dark Blue 20.A.357) complemented by a Beige leather (VM 3234) interior fitted with electric windows and, according to the archive records, the purchase price included five wheels and four gallons of petrol at £1.50.It appears the car has remained on the registration number ‘TBY 176L’ from new and the history file goes into more ownership and maintenance detail from 1984 when Mr L Foster of Southport bought the car from Mr R Brittain of Norfolk in May of that year. Mr Foster retained the services of Graypaul Ferrari Ltd., together with a number of specialists culminating in an engine and gearbox rebuild in November 1986. We are unsure when the colour was changed from the original Blu Scuro and subsequent invoices show no paint shop invoices. Furthermore, we have confirmed via Ferrari archives that the gearbox and body numbers match factory records. The engine number is yet to be established (as of May 2021) and we will endeavour to confirm the engine number prior to sale, and although the history file shows no indication of a replacement engine, we invite bidders to inspect the car to verify. In November 1986, as confirmed by the accompanying MOT Certificate, the mileage was recorded at 48,432 miles. The car was bought by Mr G. Garret of Cheshire in 1988, later registered to Mr Garret’s son in October 2020, the last registered keeper. Throughout the Garret family’s ownership, the Dino was very lightly used although periodically maintained with notable invoices from Rectory Garage, Cheshire in 1988 at 49,004 miles, JCT600 Ferrari, Bradford in 1991 and Superformance UK Ltd., Hertfordshire in 2011. Subsequent MOT Certificates register mileages at 49,282 in 1991, 49,442 in 1994, 49,568 in 2004  and was last MOT’d in 2013 at 49,700 miles. We are led to believe that Mr Garret Sr. suffered periods of extended illness that limited his use of the car during the decades of his ownership, and upon his death the car was registered to his son in 2020. The invoices and MOT Certificates subsequent to 1986 show double-digit increments and the current odometer reading was 49,800 miles at the time of cataloguing. In conclusion, we consider this Dino as the perfect contender for a rolling-restoration, the car performed well at low speed and would benefit from a thorough “going over” of the mechanical components. The body shows signs of blistering beneath the paint in a number of places, and if kept under control, may not worsen. The Dino’s condition however presents the perfect opportunity to enjoy the car, without being too precious, and then return the car to its original dark blue paintwork whilst attending to the body. Most Dinos on the market have been recently restored with prices reflecting the expenditure of the works, the opportunity, therefore, is rare at this guide price.Supplied to auction with a history file showing period receipts, copy order forms and build records from the Ferrari archives, historical MOTs, yellow tyre “chock” and old “blue” logbook. 1933 Austin 10/4 SaloonReg. no. AGC 564Chassis no. G10937Engine no. I6111Introduced in April 1932the 10/4 was Austin's best-selling car in the 1930s and continued in production, with upgrades, until 1947.  Initially offered with the chrome radiator surround the first upgrade came in 1935 with the introduction of a cowl painted to match the body colour. The design of the car was conservative with a pressed steel body built on a ladder chassis. The engine is a 1132 cc four-cylinder side valve coupled to a 4-speed gearbox. The four-wheel brakes are cable and rod operated by pedal or by hand lever on the offside of the speed lever. For the first year only, a four-door saloon was made in two versions. The basic model cost £155 and was capable of reaching 55 miles per hour. The car on offer was first registered on 26 March 1933. Delivered new to a Mr Lewis the car then passed to his son. The vendor’s father acquired 'Agatha' in 1988 who was then inherited by his daughter in 2005.  It is fitted with its original 1132 cc engine which pulls well with no nasty sounds and on start-up doesn't emit smoke.  The body and paintwork appear to be original and the condition is consummate with its age and would benefit from attention. The running boards are still covered with their original rubbers embossed with the Austin logo. The blue leather interior is also original and can best be described as well used but functional. In 2012 four new tyres were fitted and the addition of modern flashing indicators, a sensible safety addition undertaken at the same time. Driven regularly until 2004 the car has been used sparingly since, with her last outing in 2019.  This is an unusual opportunity to acquire a two family from new car from the early days of the 10/4, a car which of course benefits from nil rate VED and is not subject to the annual MOT. AGC 564 is offered for sale with a current V5 together with a quantity of old MOT certificates, some old tax discs, various Austin 10 Club magazines, a 6-volt manual, workshop manuals and an Owners Help Manual.

Lot 503

1928 Ford Model AReg. no. BF  6272Henry Ford was, for many years, convinced that his ground-breaking Model T was the only car the world would ever need. It was indeed an excellent car – 15 million being sold in its 21-year production run, a record for a single model that stood for many years. By the mid-1920s, however, it was becoming obvious that the T’s days were numbered. Newer models from other manufacturers were now faster and easier to drive, with convenient features such as electric starters, which Henry Ford disliked, making the T seem outdated. After much pressure from both Ford’s sales staff and his son Edsel, Henry finally relented and allowed the development of a successor. The resulting design – largely Edsel’s work – was a much more conventional car, with a standard gearbox instead of the T’s epicyclic unit, and various features that by that time were commonplace on its competitors, four-wheel-brakes and an electric starter, for example. So different in concept was the new car that Ford decided to give it a clean-slate name – instead of the Model U, it was the Model A, representing just how big a step this was for the company. After nearly a year’s break in Ford production while the factories retooled for the A, the new car went on sale in December 1927. Dispelling any worries Henry might have had, the A sold extremely well, with nearly 5 million produced by the time production ended in March 1931. Model As weren’t just made in Detroit; factories in many countries turned them out, including Trafford Park in the UK. Many different body styles were available, both open and closed, with a choice of colours also on offer – another break from the legacy of the T.This 1928 Model A is a Canadian-built right-hand-drive example; due to its status as a British Dominion, Canadian-built cars were exempt from import duties in the British Empire that Detroit-built cars would be subject to, and hence many right-hand-drive As trace their origins to Canada. This car was destined for Australia; as such, it is fitted with the standard Model A 3.3 litre engine, with 40bhp, instead of the 2-litre unit that was often fitted to UK-market cars due to the RAC tax system. The car was imported from Australia in 2003 and registered with the DVLA in 2012. These 3.3 litre Model As produce excellent torque and cope well in modern traffic, with decent brakes as well. They are very reliable, and if anything does go wrong, parts are readily available from the States – few vintage cars are easier to own. This very smart A is offered with various documents relating to its importation and registration, plus an original handbook and a V5C.Estimate: £12,000 – 15,000

Lot 508

1965 Triumph TR4A IRSReg. no. CEA 936CChassis no. C7C5764ZOEngine no. C156Z68EThe TR4A was the last of the TR range to use the long-serving Standard wet-liner four-cylinder engine. Launched in 1965, it addressed the main criticism that had been levelled at the TR4 – its harsh ride. The TR4A now had independent rear suspension, a semi-trailing arm setup with coil springs and lever-arm shock absorbers. Accommodating this new arrangement made the car slightly wider and 50kg heavier than the TR4, but this was made up for by the resulting improvements in both comfort and handling, while the engine was enhanced with improved manifolds, now giving 104bhp. Cosmetically, the car now sported an ‘IRS’ badge at the rear, alluding to the new suspension, while there was also some new chrome trim, smaller bumpers and a new design of convertible top based on that of the Herald. On the interior, the dash was now covered in walnut as standard, which had been an option on the TR4.This UK-market 1965 TR4A features some of the most desirable options and accessories available for these cars. The four-speed gearbox benefits from the optional overdrive on second, third and fourth, and the car is also fitted with the desirable rear screen and ‘Surrey’ hard top – very sought-after items in the TR world. In very good mechanical condition, the engine is said to be leak-free and has just been serviced, with all ancillaries either replaced or reconditioned. The cooling system has been flushed and the hoses replaced, and there is a new battery with cut-off switch, as well as a new stainless steel sports exhaust. As far as the bodywork, paintwork and interior are concerned, the car is in fair condition, having been restored around 10 years ago. This extremely useable TR comes with a current V5C.Estimate: £16,500 – 17,000

Lot 509

1961 Vanden Plas PrincessReg. no. 730 CXHChassis no. VDM 414955Engine no. 14936Launched as the Austin A135 Princess in 1952 and re-branded as a Vanden Plas in 1960, this large 4-litre limousine represented the last in the line of large luxury Austins. Although using Austin underpinnings, the car was actually built at the Vanden Plas works in Kingsbury in North London, an arrangement that would continue right up until the end of production in 1968. Extremely luxuriously appointed, with plenty of polished wood and thick carpeting, the Princess was not aimed at the general market – the options of monograms and a flagstaff attested to that. Instead, it was aimed at heads of state, dignitaries, and other customers who required a dignified car in which to be seen and transported. Although not sports cars by any stretch of the imagination, by the early 60s Princesses could reach about 85mph, although the big 4-litre straight six and automatic gearbox were more intended for refined, smooth progress. They proved excellent at this, and Princesses are still a popular choice as event cars, particularly for weddings and other such occasions where their air of timeless British luxury provides a touch of class. This 1961 Princess was originally owned by a shipping company as directors’ transport. After that, it was used for many years for weddings. At some point before 1974 the original cloth upholstery in the rear was replaced with imitation leather; the front compartment retains its original leather. Originally black, the car has gone through several resprays before reaching its current colour scheme. It is in good sound condition bodywork-wise. The engine has been converted to run on unleaded fuel. These cars represent value, not least when one considers they can seat eight people, and this one looks ideal for either a return to work, or as a luxury classic with space for all the family. It comes with service history back to 1974, plus a V5C.Estimate: £3,000 – 4,000

Lot 512

1931 Austin 16/6 Burnham SaloonReg. no. VO 6257Chassis no. 24502/6Engine no. 24722L6The Austin 16/6 was launched in 1927, bridging the gap in Austin’s range between the 12/4 and the 20 and giving the company an entry into the expanding six-cylinder market. The side-valve 2249cc engine was a smooth unit, the crankshaft running in no fewer than eight main bearings. A conservative 36bhp was claimed and was transmitted through a four-speed gearbox. In the early years of the model a large variety of body styles were offered, but by the early 1930s, the range had been somewhat consolidated. A consistently popular model was the Burnham saloon; this six-light model exuded a dignified presence, and was well-finished inside, with high-quality leather upholstery and such luxuries as folding tables on the back of the front seats for the use of the rear-seat passengers. This 1931 Burnham is in very presentable all-round condition, having been in the good hands of an enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable late member of the Austin Ten Drivers’ Club. He carried out much work to the car to bring it to the fine condition in which it is presented today, and the car runs and drives extremely well. It also benefits from a few modifications for modern driving conditions, such as flashing indicators. There are comprehensive collections of recent receipts and history. Also present are some letters and some detail on previous owners, plus three folders full of photocopied brochures relating to the model, workshop manuals, technical data and parts lists. It also comes with a spare block, a large trunk, several useful spares, many MOTs dating back to 1987, an RF60 logbook from 1962, and a current V5C.Estimate: £11,000 – 12,000

WP0ZZZ91ZGS150494Engine no. 63G01553The Porsche 911 was introduced in its first form in 1964 and was for a long time the face of Porsche.   The replacement for the SC series came in 1984 as the 911 3.2 Carrera, reviving the Carrera name for the first time since 1977. This was the last iteration in the original 911 series, with all subsequent models featuring new body styling and new brake, electronic, and suspension technologies. A new higher-displacement engine, a 3.2-litre horizontally opposed flat 6-cylinder unit, was utilized. At the time Porsche claimed it was 80% new. Three basic models were available – coupé, targa and cabriolet. The Carrera is almost indistinguishable from the SC with the external clue being the front fog lights that were integrated into the front valance. Total production of the 911 3.2 Carrera series was 76,473 cars of which just under 20,000 were cabriolets.70 WKN was originally sold new in Cornwall. There is a letter on file from a previous owner stating that the car did have a full service history but that had unfortunately been lost. Acquired by the vendor in 2004, this Carrera has been used sparingly since and is offered in its eye-catching yellow livery with blue leather interior and black hood. When inspected the car fired up immediately; the 3.2l flat six engine has a throaty note, with rapid acceleration; drive is by a 5-speed manual gearbox.  All gears engaged as they should. It should be noted that some minor bodywork issues exist which a new owner might want to address. The rear nearside wing has a paint crack and there is some minor bubbling on the front nearside wing; the hood is in good condition. At some point in the past the car seems to have been involved in an accident and was classed as a Category C insurance claim (Cat. C being uneconomic to repair at that time due to the car’s value). The vendor had the car checked over and there was no apparent structural damage hidden after repair.  The car is fitted with a Toad alarm and there are several old MOT certificates in the file. Also included is some service history, old tax discs and an original driver’s manual. This is a car that is ready to enjoy this summer and would benefit from some improvements next winter.Estimate: £25,000 – 30,000
